Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

I think she's pretending to be Persian so she can sucker in a kind hearted Persian loving support human. She's already seen off hot blooded males to avoid pregnancy. She's convinced others she's a show cat.

She has brains. You've been warned 😂

Hopefully she is feeling better today. How's Cheddar coping with Penelope sleeping on your bed?

Toddlerteaplease · 03/10/2023 17:22

I suspect you are right

"Support human" 🤣🤣🤣

No idea how she is, I'm on a 13 hour shift. Which is why I wanted her done last week when I had a day off afterwards!

Cheddar doesn't seem to mind. I was getting concerned that Penelope was growling at her. But I think she might have been about to come on heat.

13 hours, hope it's not been too draining for you.
I was in the food industry all my working life as a university Chef, so can relate to the long busy shifts.
Hopefully Penelope has had a good long rest today to aid her recovery, watched over by her big sister Cheds

Cheddar doesn't seem to mind.

Now that Cheddar has made a beeline for the teepee, let's hope that she is more concerned about keeping the teepee for herself than sharing a bed with her 'support human'.

Toddlerteaplease · 03/10/2023 20:30

Penelope seems fine.

Cheddar has puked on the bed again. She's eating to much!

As you sees Cheddar is not bothered

I know about perspective. I know about the skit about being far, far away. But Penelope is tiny!!!

And are you sure Cheddar is alive in that picture...

Actually my hand wants to sneak into that picture and ruffle that tummy fur 😂😂

Scampuss · 03/10/2023 20:47

They both look super relaxed!

Toddlerteaplease · 03/10/2023 20:54

Penelope is absolutely tiny, it's not just the perspective. Can't believe how big Cheddar is next to her. I always thought she was small. Cheddar loved a belly rub. And when I tried to tickle Penelope's chest. She licked me hand. Would looks completely fine.

They've just had a good sniff. of each others noses. Penelope purring loudly. Cheddar asleep, it's good to have two cats again.

That is fantastic.

Ellmau · 03/10/2023 22:45

Cheddar is so sweet natured, and Penelope is just adorable.

LostCats · 04/10/2023 06:32

Ahhh that’s so lovely to read!!

ps your duvet cover is amazing!!!

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2023 08:50

Cheddar is the sweetest cat you could ever meet. And I suspect that Penelope will be similar when she's settled.

Great news

felinelucky · 04/10/2023 09:04

All very encouraging. So glad they're starting to get on. They are both gorgeous.

FutureThroughLensOfThePast · 04/10/2023 13:00

Sound like the introductions are going really well. My two were still at the snarling/hissing stage three weeks in.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/10/2023 14:17

Yep seems ok. No actual aggression, no swiping just occasional growling. Really need the rescue to send me some money now. As I've paid her hills on my credit card. But not replied to my message.

Massive breakthrough!!!! She's downstairs!

Also noticed that her coat is getting softer and less spikey and slightly shiny.

So how long will it take until she has swiped those offending items off that table? 😂

She's doing really well compared to ours after her spay, took her a week before she was jumping onto beds/moving around.

Scampuss · 04/10/2023 21:05

She really is doing so well.
