Keep your paws crossed that Penelope (also to be known as Pickle) will be right for Cheddar and arrive soon.
I'm a bit confused by her story, but she's an ex show cat. So hopefully will be healthy.
She's not yet in the rescue so we do t k ow her personality. But from what I've seen as show cats. They are pretty docile.

The rescue told me about her when O told them of Magic's death. And when I got to work that night. We had a patient called Penelope. So I take it as a sign!

I'm trying to speed it up a bit but the rescue is busy.

They weren't and it's not their fault either. It's the original owner's fault.

I think you and the rescue need to be honest and transparent with each other - you fostered her because you were not sure she was a 'fit' and they agreed to this. Neither of you have done anything wrong. That's a good position to move forward from.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2023 14:28

Also never dreamed that we would have a disagreement on the way forward.

The original plan was that she was going to go to foster care. It was only because of waited so long that we agreed I'd foster instead. And to check she's be ok with Cheddar.

Yep, so if she had been fostered elsewhere you'd have heard the whole story before you even met her ...

It's just how things have turned out.

I hope it all works out but if not do remember that you will not be her only option.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2023 14:52

Looks like PDSA would also say the same.

She's on her third home in 3 years.

This is heartbreaking.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2023 18:02

I've emailed the owner of the cattery I used as she is a vet. Just to ask what best practice actually is. I won't use her opinion. I just want to know what the guidelines are.

Unimpressed with David Suchet. We are having a serious conversation about the only acceptable detectives in this house. Which are Jeremy Bett as Holmes, Joan Hickson as Marple and Edward Petherbridge as Whimsy.

She looks tiny there!

What does she weigh?

You and Penelope are my sort of people.

She's so dainty!

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2023 20:59

@Scampuss 2.5kg

Whatever decision you end up making, it won't be a hard hearted one. All cat slaves have to make difficult decisions out of love. ❤

SequentialAnalyst · 25/09/2023 21:04

My post came over a bit morbid. I didn't mean it that way Sad

I am very hopeful that there will be a happy outcome for you both.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2023 21:11

@SequentialAnalyst I find it hard when they are pouring money into a cat that has an extremely poor prognosis and If was my cat, I'd have PTS. And worrying about funding some hopefully easily sorted issues.

She's still refusing to watch Poirot.

What if she hates Cadfeal or Peter Whimsey?

OP posts:
Scampuss · 25/09/2023 21:28

Oh she is tiny!

My latest is 3.5kg and she seemed minuscule after my giant 7.4kg boy before.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/09/2023 22:07

Yes. cheddar is 3.5 abs she seemed small. Massive progress this evening. She's left her room for more than 10 seconds and is currently on my bedroom windowsill.

Oh wow.

SequentialAnalyst · 25/09/2023 23:39

Similar but different - try Jonathan Creek?

LostCats · 26/09/2023 08:02

A totally unrelated thought, but how could the breeder have even considered breeding from her when she’s so incredibly tiny! Imagine 😨

Toddlerteaplease · 26/09/2023 08:25

@LostCats yes I had the same thought. She'd never have been backs to carry a litter.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/09/2023 09:05

I've lost her in the house 😂😂😂
