Continuing the adventures of all our cats, the well-behaved and the less well-behaved.

Our vets are Companion Care in New Malden (I think someone else on here goes there?). It’s a chain but they are absolutely wonderful. Our favourite vet is just heaven. She treats every animal with such love and I’ve seen her talk owners out of things which aren’t in the animal’s best interest and make it seem like it’s their idea.

Our vets are all women and it's a rural practice.

The one we always see is wonderful. When Emerald was taken ill, the vet stayed till 8 pm, assisted by another vet, two nurses and the receptionist.

They all stayed late, just for her.
Our vet's dad started the practice in the 1960s.

And Alison, the vet, told me that someone wanted their cat PTS during lockdown (not for medical reasons and not an old cat) so Alison took the cat home with her and adopted him.

A good couple of days with Lasagna and Rigatoni, Las is learning to back off a little and Toni is standing his ground more. They can now be in proximity without anyone growling.

Kitten spam? Nope, keep then coming. Benny melts my heart.

On a sad note, have you all seen Toddler's news about her lovely Snorg?

Yes, poor Toddler and Cheddar. Did Snorg used to be Magic? I didn't want to ask Toddler directly as not the time. We've lost too many from the Litter Tray this year (although lots of lovely new arrivals to heal our hearts!)

Ah poor Toddler. It's heartbreaking losing a beloved pet.

If I can help with kitten photos and antics then I certainly will. Benny has been bombing it around the place, fighting with a cardboard box, doing the bum wiggle and pounce on Walter, and generally being utterly adorable! I can totally see the heart on his bum in that pic! Not sure if it's his position. He's in the kitchen eating and I'm being lazy so will look when he comes back to attack my jigsaw again.

Oh and the photo of him beside Walter on the bed earlier...he was waving his paws around at Walter's tail. Shortly after Walt bopped him over the head 😂 I really think they'll be snuggling before long.

@RumNotRun my sister nicknamed Magic Snorgmaiden and it stuck. Her late identical sister was nicknamed Fattycat or Fatty. No idea why!

Cheddar is her normal self, and seems completely oblivious. I did take her with us, so she saw Magic and I think she understood.

@Toddlerteaplease the same sister that knitted/crocheted a cat bikini? (Or did I dream that one?)

I have two questions for all cat experts.

1. Do cats have any concept of numbers beyond "Have I got all my kittens?"?
2. What's the best wheeled pet carrier for a fat bastard large cat?

Thats what got me wondering. Leroy will always go to DH for his after lunch or after dinner Dreamies & Pickles because he gives a couple more than I do 🤔

The house is so silent. Magic was very heavy pawed and snuffly so could always hear her.

Hugs to you and Cheddar, Toddler. Snorg was a massive personality and I'm not surprised you miss her - if we ever have to take the cats to cattery a day early before a trip the house always seems super quiet and not in a good way
