I'm in bed, Shady just stared at the living room oddly. About 3 mins later some random just banged on the patio doors, it was like he knew before they did it
Poor shady is scared of the noise and has hidden under the bed

Supersimkin2 · 27/05/2023 00:32

Sweet dreams darling Shady, you’re going to be happier than you ever knew possible. Look after Kyse for us, she’s precious -you’ll find out.

Kyse you need a nice deep kip love, after all the excitement. Cat on bed, all right with the world.

Florissant · 27/05/2023 07:42

Poorr Shady and the scary noise.

LostCats · 27/05/2023 08:14

How was the rest of his night Kyse?

Grumpy! That is a big black cat! I love it

Kyse23 · 27/05/2023 08:39

I couldn't sleep but he did! On my bed most of the right and shoved himself under the duvet curled up to me. He's eaten some wet food and had a big drink

That is brilliant. Straight into bed with you on night one - not exactly lacking in confidence is he? 😹

Kyse23 · 27/05/2023 08:58

He's currently flopped by the side of my desk asking for belly rubs

Supersimkin2 · 27/05/2023 09:21

Highly intelligent, he hasn’t taken long to click that he’s in clover. With duvet rights.

He’s got the most loving face.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 27/05/2023 09:31

He is adorable. 💘

Papergirl1968 · 27/05/2023 10:27

Some beautiful panthers on here.
So glad Shady had a good night. He clearly knows his role is to help mend your broken heart.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 27/05/2023 14:19

What's it like having a new boy, Queen? Bitter/sweet?

It weirdly feels fine. Today he looked at me and I saw Ollie in him very very clearly which was strange

Florissant · 27/05/2023 17:40

Not strange at all - Ollie wants you to know that he lives on in your heart and memories.

Supersimkin2 · 27/05/2023 21:13

How was First Day ?

I love Shady already - he’s the best.

Prince and Havelock spent the day chillin in the sun. Havelock even allowed Prince to play with his floofy tail.

Supersimkin2 · 27/05/2023 21:14

For about 3 seconds.

Allergictoironing · 27/05/2023 22:48

Poor Tobias got a shock today. He was happily rampaging around the living room & downstairs hallway with Girlcat when he suddenly realised I was sitting at the PC in the study rather than being out at work. Poor little sod bolted up the stairs like a giant hungry wolf was after him!

Allergictoironing · 28/05/2023 08:56

Was reading an article yesterday about having one litter tray per cat & one over. I set 2 up for Boycat & Girlcat when they came home but they would only ever share the same one. I still left the other one in situ, so when Tobias came home I moved that one up to his room.

Obviously he used that one while he was shut in & for a bit after, but I've just realised that apart from a couple of very small wees he's been using the downstairs tray for the last week especially for poos. Even when I'm up and around he sneaks down when my back is turned & uses it then.

Must be something about me or the house that makes cats happy to share resources. He & Girlcat have also taken to going through phases of eating dry just from his bowl then just from hers, same with water.

So unlike FWK who has to have 6 litter trays for his 3 cats, with 2 different litters in use as one only poos on one type but pees on the other, 2 won't go in the covered tray, one only goes in clean litter.......

@Allergictoironing
I only discovered the one tray per cat (plus one for his nob) rule on Mumsnet.

Our four share one large tray (large enough for two cats on occasion) and never seem to have any problems.

Allergictoironing · 28/05/2023 09:07

I got the largest trays that PaH do, knowing that I was bringing home quite a long cat. But I doubt mine could share it at the same time - they do seem to like to stretch out when they are digging & burying!

Excuse the makeshift plastic wall covering (it stops them from peeing over the edge).
I just bought a large plastic storage container from a diy shop - does the job perfectly as modelled by Karl and Lenny. (I should add that they don't usually do synchronised toiletting)

Gosh, that IS a big litter tray.

Emerald and Linney happily share one tray here, but their predecessors, Buster and McVicar, liked one each.

All of which demonstrates that cats are just individuals.

(Or cussed. Or weird.)

Supersimkin2 · 28/05/2023 10:10

That’s a triumph 😤 Grumpy.

Prince has been accused of 🚻 in other neighbour’s exquisite Buddhist garden. I’m afraid the Zen raked sand sculpture came to an end prematurely. Which is definitively Zen as everyone knows but neighbour’s face started looking not very spiritual so I shut up after that.

NDN should thank Prince for his help on his journey to enlightenment if you ask me. Some people are never grateful.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 28/05/2023 10:20

Ah Super. I would have thought that cats were the very antithesis to other people's feelings of Zen.

Very pleased you are educating your neighbour in the true path. Shows what I know 🤣.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/05/2023 10:24

My boy would still find a way to dig the litter over the side :(

Kyse23 · 28/05/2023 10:56

I have an under bed storage tray as a litter tray
Lie in today. Shady didn't make a peep even for food
