Sorry, cross post with Kyse.
Tears are streaming down my face.
Will be hugging my two extra hard tonight.A
Try to get some sleep, Kyse.

darumafan · 19/05/2023 22:24

Kyse, Ollie was in the arms of his best hooman who he loves and is loved by. There can't be any better way to go over the Rainbow Bridge.
Please be gentle with yourself over the next few days and weeks.
The Litter Tray is here for you and you are surrounded by love and support xxx

TheShellBeach · 19/05/2023 22:24

Such a sad day for you @Kyse23
We've all been through it. I've thought about you all day.

TheLongRider · 19/05/2023 22:33

It is wonderful in any lifetime to have that kind of love between a human and their pet. Despite the heartache and the pain of loss, it is amazing to have experienced love like that.

Guiltypleasures001 · 19/05/2023 23:21

Flowers again no words, got caught crying this afternoon by DH, he knew who I meant when I said Ollie. He's seen his pics many times, as already said this small tight knit corner of the forum is genuine and likes to show its love and support.
Day at a time x

Kyse23 · 19/05/2023 23:24

I haven't posted it public on his FB as it's not really for sharing but here is ok
If you don't follow the vitamix cats already, please do. They messaged me today and took a giant weight off my mind by clearing Ollies entire vet bill and paid for individual cremation and his ashes back so (as she put it) I didn't have to feel like I had paid for letting him go

The kindness of the TC&F ladies is amazing. I had to leave Bertie at the vets as I just couldn't afford the individual cremation to get his ashes back. They were amazing though and got me two little bottles of his fur and a card with his paw prints. People can be so kind ♥️

Florissant · 20/05/2023 07:16

Oh, Kyse. My heart is breaking for you. Ollie had a peaceful passing, held by the person who loved him most and best.

Allergictoironing · 20/05/2023 08:51

I'm hoping and praying that's our 3 for the year - Boycat, Harry and now Ollie, all massive characters in their own way.

I had to phone my DSis for a chat & a mini cry yesterday as this brought back a lot of thoughts about Boycat. Especially that pic of Ollie looking at his mum with total adoration in his eyes and not a single other thought, Boycat would look at me like that.

Look after poor Paws too, he'll be very confused.

I'm a little concerned about Paws, too. I hope he doesn't find the change too disruptive.

He thudded in through the window last night just as I was thinking it was too quiet. Had some food then decided it was Friday night so he was off partying
He did accept a head rub Smile

nettie434 · 20/05/2023 09:40

it sounds as if it was very peaceful (apart from the noise of the children in the waiting room) and quick. If there is anything else you need, please let us know.

Supersimkin2 · 20/05/2023 09:57

You’ve given Ollie the purest love till beyond the end.

If it’s any help, going in seconds confirms that it was his time to go.

I’m gutted and will miss him badly. You and Ollie sprinkled gold dust on my life every day for years. He was a comedy genius too. Love you both more than is EnglIsh to say.

Ollie had a fantastic life because of you. Fantastic. Babe, look after yourself now.

I might plant 🌱 a couple of flowers on Clapham Common near Mr C, Seniorboy’s and Asbo. There is a foreign field that is forever blooming Spirit of Ollie.

I hope his visit made you feel less alone.

That set me off. Stupid tears.

Kyse23 · 20/05/2023 10:05

I will miss him endlessly. It won't be a replacement but my home needs a cat and I need one to love so I will be rehoming when the right cat appears. Whether that's tomorrow or next year, I trust Ollie to send me the right one

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/05/2023 10:13

I'm hoping and praying that's our 3 for the year
Seconded.
Hope you're coping today @Kyse23, and sympathy and thoughts to all who have lost cats this year, 💐

LostCats · 20/05/2023 10:44

Oh Kyse, I’m so sorry. I thought of you all of yesterday. And then when I started reading this morning the tears started. Told DD who is only 8 and she was in tears too.
I went onto your lovely Ollie Facebook to see him and then there were more tears.
You loved him so very very much and he went feeling loved and safe and warm.
The greatest final gift.
As you said, you promised he’d never be lonely or cold again and you gave him the greatest life any cat could dream of.

We will all miss him so much

RumNotRun · 20/05/2023 12:47

The way you speak about him reminds me of my cat Alizè who had to be PTS in 2020. He used to look at me in that same utterly devoted way and was always by my side. I couldn't be with him as he went for his last sleep (fuck you Covid).

Our furry friends really do leave their paw prints on our hearts. If there is anything after life, then I hope all the Litter Tray cats are together enjoying eternal sunshine and Dreamies.

Kyse23 · 20/05/2023 13:27

Not in any way planned and I know people will judge
However I have seen a cat, that popped up on FB from a page I've never seen. He's in foster with the woman that fostered Ollie back in 2015
I rang her to tell her about Ollie as it had her number and I had lost it, and she asked if I would like to see a cat...

I have said yes, because the house needs one and I need to pour this love into another
It might not be right but I feel drawn to going to look anyway

Papergirl1968 · 20/05/2023 13:44

Go for it @Kyse23
You've got a massive gap in your heart and in your home. No one will judge and if they do, sod them.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/05/2023 13:48

I know people will judge
I'm not going to judge and I doubt anyone else will do so here either.
I can't actually imagine being without a cat (or cats). From experience they all have such different characters that they never replace a previously loved cat but they create new ways of wheedling their way into your heart anyway.
Good luck.

LostCats · 20/05/2023 13:58

You said Ollie would send you a cat. He may already have done that ❤️
You should definitely go and look.
No one who knows and loves cats would ever judge

Defiantlynot41 · 20/05/2023 14:08

No judgement here! Ollie sent you a cat - not a replacement but one that needs love
