DD's cat disappeared three months ago and she was distraught.
Last night the cat suddenly reappeared through the cat flap, looking very thin and sporting various wounds on her face.
She apparently spent the night in DD's arms.
We're all wondering where the hell she went for three months .

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 23/04/2023 08:27

Poor cat, 3 months is a long time to fend for yourself. She has excellent homing instincts though. She ideally needs a vet trip for those wounds to rule out systemic infection.

I hope the induction worked @Papergirl1968.

Yes, DD is taking her tomorrow.

Florissant · 23/04/2023 10:29

Poor Tobias. He must be scared.

I hope all goes well at the vet's tomorrow, @TheShellBeach.

Papergirl1968 · 23/04/2023 11:29

I'm so glad she made her way home, @TheShellBeach
No, baby is keeping us waiting @FormerlyPathologicallyHappy Hopefully later today!

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 23/04/2023 12:17

Fingers crossed for you both!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 23/04/2023 15:01

Well THAT scared the shit out of Leroy!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/04/2023 15:10

Neither Mrs Grumpy nor I received it...
That works well then 🤣

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 23/04/2023 15:12

I turned mine off. CBA these days.

Supersimkin2 · 23/04/2023 15:15

I’ve had 0.

However, Havelock has learned to politely shake his collar bell when arriving at my door.

His ring works better than a nuclear warning.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/04/2023 15:23

A bit of squirreling has shown that my Android version is too old to get warnings.
So if you have a dodgy old phone you can drown/burn/get consumed by locusts/miss the missile attack warning, and the government won't care 🤣

coastergirl · 23/04/2023 19:55

Mind went off at 2.59, along with what seemed like everyone else in Aldi. It even sounded like it played through the tannoy system. I'd forgotten about it and jumped a mile.

lljkk · 23/04/2023 20:33

What is the minimum Android version needed?
DS has a Samsung Galaxy S7, we suspect too old.

Supersimkin2 · 23/04/2023 23:01

I’ve still had 0. Good way of cleansing the middle-aged from the planet.

Allergictoironing · 24/04/2023 08:24

I gather from the news this morning that it wasn't just older versions of Android, but also some networks in some areas as well e.g I think some 3 customers had problems

Only worked on Android 11 or upwards apparently.
My Samsung S8 phone is only on Android 9 - SO I DESERVE TO DIE 🤣

Supersimkin2 · 24/04/2023 12:08

I’ve just updated my iPhone and had highlights Grumpy.

I’m not going anywhere. I advise everyone to take the same firm British stance against adversity or locusts.

Papergirl1968 · 24/04/2023 20:35

I had my emergency alert, dd didn't. Clearly those of us who did are the chosen ones!
Elsie-Mae (I know many Mumsnetters will reel in horror at the hyphen) arrived safely just before 8pm yesterday. She is beautiful. Dog very interested and gets up for a better look every time she murmurs, cats totally indifferent!

Congratulations, Grandma!

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 24/04/2023 22:10

Congratulations @Papergirl1968. If she wants to use a hyphen so what? There’s no harm in it. I hope their both ok.

RumNotRun · 24/04/2023 22:11

Congrats @Papergirl1968 and to your daughter of course.

The tribe are driving me nuts today. Ghostie (tripod cat) had the zoomies this morning and evening, complete with weird meowing. This morning Toad played with her, but this evening her zoomies have made Raven hiss loads. Lexter has decided that he's scared of everything, also that if he didn't see food being put on the plate or if it was more than 5 minutes ago then it is clearly poisoned and cannot be eaten.

Anniegetyourgun · 24/04/2023 22:33

Elsie-Mae is not bad as hyphenated names go. You have my permission to continue with it.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/04/2023 22:36

Many congrats to you and your daughter @Papergirl1968.

Allergictoironing · 24/04/2023 22:39

In my job I come across a lot of young people (18-25) - you should see some of their hyphenated names! And names sort of made up by smooshing 2 names together so they sort of sound like a real name, but are spelt weirdly e.g. rather than Christabel, they are Christinabelle (not a real example). "Hippy" type names seem to have been in fashion about 20 years ago too.
