Christopher Smart had clearly never met TC.
Due to popular demand (and a fear of lynching by the denizens of Mumsnet if I failed to comply) please find enclosed the 5th (🙀) thread about my NDN's cat.
For any new arrivals to this thread, TC is a stripy thug who spends most of his waking hours trying to break into our house. He doesn't get on with our cats (with the possible exception of Sybil, but only if she's in the mood). He currently is at war with Lenny.
He occasionally behaves like a perfect gentleman, his more normal MO however is to be a hissing spitting ball of teeth and claws.

We open doors and windows.

We post a cat at each open door and window. We keep an eye on each open door and window. Then we while away the hours repelling the invader (sometimes without success) anyway.

Well that's where you're going wrong Grumpy. Basil, Lenny & Karl have all proved that they are lovers not fighters, and won't challenge the Alpha male.

And posting the beauteous Sybil at a window is going to make TC even more desperate to get to his love. Meanwhile the boys are probably egging him on, shades of the "Tell me more" song from Grease.

TC has been around all day today. Catching the sun on the patio earlier this evening.

TC having inappropriate thoughts (which if followed through would be doomed to failure) on our patio this morning 🤣.

The little bastard has already hissed at all our boys, and broken in this morning while I was sitting outside cooling down...

I just see him as a peaceful handsome terrorist. I'll let him sleep, while you can open all your doors and Windows, grumpy.

Or maybe he's channelling Yevgeny Prigozhin. He's realised the error of trying to invade Ukraine Grumpy's house and has returned to his home base to stage a coup. Be very wary @TCsDad 🤣

Had a TC look a like who lived to the grand age of 20, he once brought in a weasel, took a neighbour two hours to catch it and release alive!

TC vs Swan would be brilliant to watch. As would TC on a boat in the middle of the river, if you are taking requests?

Years ago there were a pair of black swans that used to come into the garden. My old one eyed cat decided to have a go at them once. He did the usual stalking creep towards them, until one of the swans turned, saw him and hissed. Cat legged it and never tried again.
I might try and arrange a one way TC boat trip 🙀

We all know he wasn't eyeing up the swan in a bad way. He was simply admiring the beauty of nature. Maybe 🤔

I got chased by geese once when our bus stopped in a beauty spot renowned for its exquisite tranquility in Turkey. They go faster than Usain Bolt after a burger. And hiss. Turns out coach drivers walk very slowly. And cackle, unattractively.

Look at dat ickle fluffy bebby snatching a few seconds’ peace! Negativity has no place near such a halcyon scene Grumpy.

I’ve spent ages and can witness I think little TC might be nature bathing with a rare bird nearby.

I may have worked out why TC appeared to be swan upping earlier today.
Saw these two three on the backwater this evening 😁

Aren't they beautiful! But TC would be taking on more than he could chew if he decided to confront those swans. Best to admire them from a distance retaining his nine lives than lose them all in one swoop.
