She’s very comfy.

More comfy than me when I try to squeeze on next to her.

Barely seen the cats all afternoon. Probably because my DSis gave me an electric blanket for XMas (requested) which I put on the bed today then set with a plug timer to come on (low heat) for a short while every couple of hours. Will observe how it's going over the next couple of days & adjust the timer if necessary.

Poor Boycat is definitely feeling the cold more now, especially as he's getting quite skinny, but I can't really afford to heat the house all day every day so thought this would be a good compromise. Plus nice for me if we get another cold snap!

In other news, Fireworks started here at about 7pm. Had a break, now they've started up again. This will go on all night now until at least 2am, echoing up and down the valley. Nytol night I think!

Pelo22 · 31/12/2022 20:25

@Allergictoironing I got one of these. It's not comfy because it's a hard disc but I put it in Ollies igloo or under a folded blanket/cushion and it gives a nice bit of heat and stays warm for a good 8hrs
I've also stolen it for in bed before!

Allergictoironing · 31/12/2022 20:42

That looks nice.

I ideally wanted something that could be used by both me and the cats but couldn't justify paying out until I start work again, but then DSis asked what I wanted for XMas. I gave her a long list of various things including the electric blanket (most expensive) , a new bin for the kitchen, reed room scenters, right down to cheap chocolate, and she turned up with the blanket and loads of chocolate. I luffs my DSis!

LostCats · 31/12/2022 21:14

Ah that’s so nice of her Allergic! And so lovely that Boycat can benefit and be snuggly too ❤️

Happy New Year from me & Leroy 🥳

Leroy normally doesn't give a shit about fireworks, but he is now hiding in one of his many boxes. DH has gone to the spare room so Leroy can have the bed tonight. But apparently I spoil that cat 😂

TheSilveryPussycat · 01/01/2023 00:45

Happy New Year to everyone on this thread. I'm still here, thinking of everyone as various of us/you go through trials and tribulations. Still no NMC, have seen a couple of cats, which fled Sad So it gives me such pleasure seeing all yours - like having virtual NMCs Xmas Smile

Basil is helping with breakfast. Sitting on the kitchen table posing with his herbal namesake.

Happy new year all.

Fireworks kept me awake despite my attempts to drug myself into insensibility, sounded like a war zone out there and I wouldn't have been surprised to see the tanks rolling in this morning. Cost of Living crisis - what COL crisis? Must have been literally many many £1000's going off last night, and that was all private stuff not official displays.

Cats didn't care, though even Girlcat looked a little startled when mortars went off nearby so loud they nearly deafened me. I swear they get louder every year!

Allergictoironing · 01/01/2023 10:10

BTW Grumpy, is Mittens you or DW? You seem to be swapping randomly between the user names...

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 01/01/2023 12:24

Hi Allergic.
Namechange fail, purely incompetence on my part. I am indeed also MittenstheMurderKitty.

Thought so on another thread - the pic above of Basil sort of gave the game away!

Papergirl1968 · 01/01/2023 15:10

Happy New Year, to all feline overlords and their slaves.
Basil is so beautiful, especially his eyes.

Paw paws is here upset about the fireworks
He keeps licking me again, and every time one goes off he jumps Sad

Supersimkin2 · 01/01/2023 20:48

Poor little Paws!! It’s too much for most cats, isn’t it. How are ya Pelo?

Pelo22 · 01/01/2023 21:08

I’ve tucked him up with a heated pad
breathless and keep going faint which is annoying but doing ok

Supersimkin2 · 01/01/2023 22:18

Sweet, do a breathing exercise. It’ll ease the panting, I had the same. Yay to doing ok - rest, rest, rest.

That heated pad is genius.

Heard a cat fight outside so went to rescue Ollie
Only to find Ollie was the one making all the noise BlushBlushBlush
