We fees ours Felix as good as it looks sachets and dry Whiskas crunchies but she doesn’t seem to like the Felix much any more! I was just looking for some inspiration of what else to try!!

After trying numerous brands he will only eat sheba.... obviously has high quality taste buds lol

YesItsMeIDontCare · 01/10/2022 13:49

Felix Doubly Delicious AGAIL. Won't touch normal AGAIL, good god no. What sort of peasant do I think he is? You'd think I'd dredged it up from a sewer.

HairyMothballs · 01/10/2022 13:50

I swap my cat's food every couple of weeks - cats are notorious for being awkwar. He has Whiskas, Felix, Sheba, on rotation. He also has cooked chicken a couple of times a week, as well as tinned tuna (in oil)

lorisparkle · 01/10/2022 13:54

We used to feed them good quality dried food from Pets Corner and then one day we had ran out so bought IAMS from tescos. Now all they will eat is IAMS dried chicken. Luckily they are happy to drink plenty of fresh water.

Belladonnamama · 01/10/2022 13:59

Sheba or Purina Gourmet. Won't eat anything in Jelly. Felix makes her vomited and definately won't touch Whiskas.

MrsSkylerWhite · 01/10/2022 14:00

The Aldi select pouches and Lidl biscuits. Prefer them to anything else.

Shortpoet · 01/10/2022 14:10

Mine eat Classic. Get it from Pets at home. They prefer Jelly to gravy but will eat both.

They also get Felix doubly delicious sachets occasionally as a treat.

They do tend to go off food. Found it is good to rotate options so they don’t get bored. So they get mostly classic Jelly, but also the gravy version and Felix.

One thing that really helped is Lick-e-Lix. It’s tubes of meat flavoured yogurt for cats. You can mix one or half in with the meat and they just wolf it down.
Don’t give it every meal or even every day. But to give a different flavour.

Currently moving from Whiskas pouches (that they seem to have gone off) onto Felix AGAIL (which they're currently enthusiastic about). Plus Purina biscuits mixed with some Crave ones.

I am hoping that a) they don't go off the Felix as soon as I've stocked up, and b) the Felix might improve the smell of their litter trays. Because the boys' poos are noxious.

Shortpoet · 01/10/2022 14:16

Oh and a couple of these dried tuna cubes crumbled over their food can get them to eat more too.

(One of my cats got ill and lost loads of weight and needed encouragement to eat. Happy to report he’s back to a healthy weight now).

Peasplease12 · 01/10/2022 14:18

My cat will only eat Rosie’s Farm. She’s a fussy little madam.

Isaidnoalready · 01/10/2022 14:19

Mine will only eat whiskers wet and purina dry there litter trays are noxious and luckily I'm at home to swipe the poop everytime they do a poop 💩

Imissmoominmama · 01/10/2022 14:21

James Wellbeloved senior. Always fresh water nearby.

He doesn’t like any other dry food.

I very occasionally give him wet food too, but I want his teeth to stay strong (he’s 15).

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 01/10/2022 14:22

Ours eat felix and Sheba. I’ve tried nearly all the others and they might eat one tin or sachet and then refuse the rest. Dried food is go cat or whiskas with the kitten versions being the quickest to be eaten. Treats are catit, dreamies, chicken and cheese dog treats and webbox sticks and sauces. Drink choice is water with occasional milk or cream (like once every 8 weeks).
5 cats.

Dimsumbun · 01/10/2022 14:23

Whiskers shedded pouches and royal canin dried food it’s about £45 for 4kg it is horribly expensive but she loves it . DH also shares a little food from his plate if just meat . He shares a tin of tuna with her once a week. She is basically his Mistress.

@Belladonnamama Felix really upset our cats stomach , there were lots of reports of this online.

IncompleteSenten · 01/10/2022 14:23

James welbeloved dry food and applaws wet food.

HeyDiddleDaddle · 01/10/2022 14:24

Prawns
Chicken
Tuna
Occasionally salmon.
Likes the Encore pouches.

I put our cat biscuits which are a complete formula for all the vitamins that she needs.

ilovesooty · 01/10/2022 14:26

Hills TD dried food and either Purina Gourmet or Untamed wet food. They actually stand up on their hind legs when the Untamed tin gets opened. They have a few Dreamies at bedtime.

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 01/10/2022 14:27

Classics wet food and Wellbeloved dry food. And he loves his Lick-e-lixes.

Midnights · 01/10/2022 14:28

Mine eat applelaws or seriously good bistro - they've got expensive tastes! Biscuits, they'll eat any old ones. Very particular with treats too.

amylou8 · 01/10/2022 14:29

I alternate felix as good as it looks and Asdas own. They seem quite happy with both. They will only eat the 1+, they won't touch any brand of 7+. They also have a mix of iams and whiskers biscuits, although I leave a bowl of the cheapest supermarket brand biscuits by the cat flap for visitors but often find mine munching them.

Schoolchoicesucks · 01/10/2022 14:30

Katkin frozen pouches. She's getting on and had started pooing outside litter box and lots of vomit. Would only eat the jelly from all the whiskas, felix, rosies etc supermarket food and was losing weight. Vet checked her out, checked her teeth to rule out anything wrong.
Saw an ad and offer for katkin and gave it a try. She's fine now, wolfs the food down, always finds the litter tray, no more vomiting. So we're stuck with the £ and full freezer now.

Shinyandnew1 · 01/10/2022 14:34

Thank you, all!

I’m off to look up some of these suggestions. I’m intrigued by the Lick E Liz stuff! Do you put that on their existing cat food?

Aldi one cat ( used to use purina one) quite happy

smileandsing · 01/10/2022 14:45

Mine eats Sheba or Purina Gourmet, costs more than supermarket own brand but she's a very old lady and she's worth it! She does however prefer Go Cat biscuits over the rest. Dreamies or Sainsbury's cat treats are her favourite
