We fees ours Felix as good as it looks sachets and dry Whiskas crunchies but she doesn’t seem to like the Felix much any more! I was just looking for some inspiration of what else to try!!

Hills science plan. He won't eat any other cat food. If I brush him when he's eating it's like Hungry Hippos 😃

Whiskeypowers · 01/10/2022 19:21

Felix made all my cats unwell one very ill.
Thankfully all fine now

they are fed a mixture of scrumble, Katkin which they absolutely love, tinned tuna once a week and poached chicken. the youngest likes the occasional bowl of chopped raw liver and heart
no kibble at all and since I stopped this their coats are incredible and their litter trays much better.

DelurkingAJ · 01/10/2022 19:22

DCat1 anything, absolutely anything, including all kinds of human food she shouldn’t if left unattended (nearly empty yoghurt pots are her absolute favourite).

DCat2, Purina dry food only. Turns her nose up at wet food, chicken, ham, tuna. Will consider Dreamies.

Twattergy · 01/10/2022 19:28

Jeez some of these cats eat better than I do!
Our girl has IAMS dry biccies.
Special once a week treat is any sort of pouch that she adores but we keep to just a weekly treat.

MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat · 01/10/2022 19:35

Haddington's grain free. He loves it

marble11 · 01/10/2022 19:39

My cat eats Purina Pro dry food and 1 sachet of Gourmet each day.

Wordwatcher · 01/10/2022 19:53

Has everyone noticed those little green garnish leaves put on the plates of the Sheba and the like?🤔

And those Felix “As Good as it Looks” soup pouches, well they look 🙀 but perhaps @TheColorIndigo could give them a whirl? 😬

Anyone else having sourcing Whiskas sacks of dry food??

GreatOak · 01/10/2022 19:55

Our Overlord is so, so picky!

PurrForm sachets of rabbit & ground bone (doesn’t like ANY OTHER type), canned tuna now & then, Royal Canin dry food for his breed. This is it really, and he’s iffy on the PurrForm lately.

For our wallet as much as anything else (PurrForm is eye wateringly pricey,) we have tried a few other things that you can buy readily and more cheaply from shops… in vain… his usual practice is to scoff the first helping of anything new then turn his nose up when proffered up next time. 🙄

FatMog · 01/10/2022 20:02

Gave up Felix after Her Majesty started to lack energy, dull coat etc.

Perked up on Sheba. Coat recovered, feels nice again.

She now alternates between Sheba and Harringtons, and she has IAMS furball biscuits to prevent vomiting. She is a long-haired mog.

MintyCedricHereWeGoAgain · 01/10/2022 20:02

Whiskas Pure Delight which is often a pain in the arse to get hold of.

Go Cat for dry food.

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 01/10/2022 20:04

@Wordwatcher whiskers sacks of dry were on offer at Aldi.

KittyMcKitty · 01/10/2022 20:09

Chicken flavoured Purina complete biscuits- it’s the only thing she likes. I asked the vet if it was OK and they said it was actual a good cat food and dear cat at 11 is a picture of health (she supplements the Purina with stuff she catches 😂)

Alloftheusernamesaretakenn · 01/10/2022 20:38

Another on Katkin here, £50/month 😱. It’s the only food on the market (apart from raw) that doesn’t trigger Boy Cat’s colitis and skin reactions - he’ll scratch and chew holes in himself if he has even a small amount of ‘normal’ food.

Ah well, suppose it’s cheaper than vets bills!

Pootle40 · 01/10/2022 20:38

Sheba fine flakes. All 4 cats enjoy it.

LostMumofTwo · 01/10/2022 20:40

Sheba in jelly pouches and she laps up James Wellbeloved biscuits like her life depends on it 😂

milski · 01/10/2022 20:48

I get a variety of wet food from Republic of Cats. Bit expensive but my fussy cat loves it.

RosesAndHellebores · 01/10/2022 20:49

This unit has a small handful of Hills Science for fat cats and a half a pouch or tin of Applaws, Encore, tuna loin, expensive brothy soups each day. His morning soft stuff includes 6ml of arthritis medicine for his 15 year old hips.

Spoilt little b***d. But we luffs him Grin

lastweigh in was 6.5kg. I await another telling off from the vet. He is long and tall though and half bsh. His mama, a beautiful cream show cat called Persephone escaped and got knocked up by a Heinz 57 romeo in Richmond Park!

AltitudeCheck · 01/10/2022 20:52

@Schoolchoicesucks we switched to Katkins after similar issues with our boy. Rather than feed him separately from his sister we switched her as well.

We found it was more economical to get the largest size (400 calories) to split between them rather than following the website algorithm to get the correct daily portion size for each cat.

The vets suspected inflammatory bowel disease and chicken/beef proteins as possible allergens so we needed a way to avoid these. He's doing great on them.

caringcarer · 01/10/2022 20:55

Aldi tins of Salmon or Chicken chunks in jelly, yes they love it. Sometimes they have sachets of beef in gravy and like that too. They always have a bit of chicken kibble available but less keen. 1 cat nibbles it.

PlayItAsItLays · 01/10/2022 20:55

It depends on which way the wind's blowing. James Wellbeloved chicken, Sheba chicken soup or Lik e Lix disgusting chicken yoghurt things. Sometimes she likes me to put out a little buffet for her with all three.

Cassillero · 01/10/2022 20:57

Whatever you do don't put him on Felix Doubly Delicious. I'm convinced it's laced with crack as mine won't touch anything else now.

caringcarer · 01/10/2022 20:58

Both share a chicken breast once a week.

Sestriere · 01/10/2022 21:03

Mine will eat anything as long as they are on rotation. Currently eating Tescos own brand @ 3.10 for 12.

ShootingForTheMoonLandingOnMyArse · 01/10/2022 21:09

A pouch of Sheba a day and Nood biscuits.

She lives for her Sheba! Really regret giving it to her one Christmas as a ‘treat’. She refused to go back on her Royal Canin and we had a 2 week stand off ending in her shitting right in the middle of the sofa. Never had any incidents in the house before or since. Of course she was back on Sheba immediately!

I thought I’d try the Nood biscuits last year as they look rather nice in Tesco and she loves them too. Always meows for more biscuits when she never used to.

Oddly she will not eat cooked meat leftovers, tinned tuna if ham!

She’s a beast, jet black, massive and fat as fuck. Prolific hunter as well (saved a large pigeon from her the other day and she’s always chasing mice in the garden). The fence sounds like it’s being knocked down when she’s coming over it but no matter what we do she doesn’t lose weight!

pointythings · 01/10/2022 21:10

I have two boys who will eat any wet food and two fussy eaters who will only touch Applaws wet food. They're not fussy about dry food so I rotate that regularly.
