We fees ours Felix as good as it looks sachets and dry Whiskas crunchies but she doesn’t seem to like the Felix much any more! I was just looking for some inspiration of what else to try!!

@Alphabet1spaghetti2

Me and Her Majesty Pixel thank you 🌷

I will be despatched post haste to Aldi tomorrow. 😬

Whiskers is rubbish. Cats are carnivores so you should buy food with a high meat content. You will save vets bills in the long run too. Lily’s Kitchen is one of our favourites. I stopped using Applaws after the health scare.

boatahoy · 01/10/2022 21:26

My cat is very fussy, will eat one brand and then suddenly stop eating it and we know it's time for a change. She's eating and really enjoying Scrumbles just now.

Narwhaleahoy · 01/10/2022 21:27

The Dark Lord was brought up properly (Animonda Carny) but we made the mistake of running out (bloody Hermes/Evri and their unreliable deliveries) and he discovered Sheba. It has to be fish flavour though. He will literally starve rather than eat any other wet food now. Ginger Whinger troughs down Gourmet Mon Petit but won’t eat the full size packets.
Both LOVE Purizon dry food but only get it when the Hermes delivery odds are in our favour…

RosesAndHellebores · 01/10/2022 21:37

His Gitliness will not touch Lily's kitchen. Or anything at a reasonable price.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 01/10/2022 21:39

not picky, maybe because a rescue cat? Mostly dry insect-based food, with a daily half a tin of applaws or thrive wet food in a variety of flavours. And snacks (dried thrive treats, and limited human food eg meat or fish scraps, occasionally licking a yoghurt spoon clean)

silentpool · 01/10/2022 21:51

Applaws dry food on demand and then some kind of meat twice a day (poached chicken, raw chicken or game mince, canned tuna, sardines, mackarel etc).

He also gets dental chews and freeze dried meat treats a couple of times a week.

Works out a lot cheaper than buying commercial cat food as I can buy yellow stickered or sale stuff for him.

LooksBetterWithAFaceMask · 01/10/2022 21:57

Blink but only the tuna one consistently the tuna and salmon if the wind is blowing right.
pets at home bistro (fish flavours) and the occasional Tim of tuna she does like the lik e lix things as a bedtime snack.
while her wet food tastes are high she’s a cheap date when it some to dried she will only eat cheap crap. I’ve mixed it in with expensive stuff and she Picks out the cheap dust flavoured dry and leave the hood meaty content stuff.
she is also not averse to having a dig in the garden for the odd bug

inappropriateraspberry · 01/10/2022 21:58

Our cats eat any dry food. One cat will eat any meat they're given, the other one only likes meat in gravy, not jelly. So obviously other cat also only gets fed meat in gravy as well.

PeloFondo · 01/10/2022 21:59

Yes, he has natures menu kitten wet food (more calories) and sometimes Sheba fresh and fine or whatever it's called as his junk treat! Also hi life tuna

PeloFondo · 01/10/2022 22:00

Oh and raw sometimes so turkey mince, bits of raw chicken and salmon oil

newtb · 01/10/2022 22:02

Mine used to have Costco own brand dried food. Our cat sitter, a vet nurse, reckoned it was Iams.

KittyCatsby · 01/10/2022 22:05

Royal Canin Saviour exigent biscuits and Gourmet petit pouches chicken , Turkey or duck.

Haddington's grain free. He loves it

Oops Harrington's not Haddington's. He used to be on royal canine gastrointestinal wet and dry but it's the same flavour constantly and also £70 a time. These he's on now is a mixed fish or meat flavour in jelly and fine for his sensitive tummy. He likes the Lilly's grain free cat biscuits too and has the occasional lick E lix for a treat every now and then

Toddlerteaplease · 02/10/2022 04:24

Mine ate Iams air Royal Canin with no issues. They struggle with smaller sized kibble, so when I bought sainsbury's own brand and Scrumbles it wasn't eaten. I think they couldn't pick it up with their flat faces.

searchingformiracle · 02/10/2022 07:55

I've found that they seem to get bored with one so I buy 3 big boxes - maybe a poultry gravy Whiskas , a fish jelly Felix and a couple of Aldi whatever and randomly pull out what ever comes .. always with Whiskas dry biscuits down .. greedy girl but not overweight unlike her mama

This helps me too as I tend to top up around pay day and don't buy again in the month

Mabelface · 02/10/2022 08:09

Acana dry food. £18 for the big bag that lasts nearly a month. Really high meat content and his coat is lovely.

Isoldesun · 02/10/2022 08:11

Katkin!! Total game changer for our sicky cat 😻

MinnieMountain · 02/10/2022 08:17

Mine’s been happily eating Iams for 11 years. She doesn’t like wet food.

She has the yoghurt stuff after I’ve de-flead her. And if I ever need to get medicine into her.

TheBalletCats · 02/10/2022 22:22

Black cat usually has Feringa (Senior) dry food but currently has Applaws because ZooPlus hadn’t any Feringa when I was doing that shop. (Back to it after this bag though.)
Blond cat has Happy Cat renal dry food. Which is now a nightmare to get hold of, Because Brexit. Ditto Monge Renal, which I now simply can’t afford. (Of course, if I get switched back to tube feeds &/or TPN & don’t need to bother with expense + effort of food for me, the cats shall have the fanciest foods I can fund…)

They get a selection of wet foods, mostly from ZooPlus, that blond cat has ProNefra added to. They like the Rosie’s Farm Senior trays; but love the Yarrah Organic ones they’ve had on special offer; they usually have Feringa tins to share as that’s cheapest but get pouches when they’re on offer… they get Hi Life “It’s Only Natural” Tuna Terrine for “mature” cats via Amazon subscribe & save: they absolutely love it, whereas they weren’t terribly fussed about the chicken from the same range. They’ve had (& really enjoyed) Blink pouches when they were on special offer at Pets at Home, too.

whirlyhead · 05/10/2022 17:00

Whatever costs the most - I swear they check the internet for prices.

I do love the supermarket cat food aisle. It always has several people just standing staring at the shelves in a slightly desperate way, wondering what their little furry bastards are going to deign to eat. I often compare notes (and cat photos) with others there.

I tried Katkin. The cats don’t mind it but the consistency and smell of it makes me feel ill. Plus it takes up most of the freezer!

MidnightMeltdown · 05/10/2022 17:05

Felix as good as it looks - but^ only^ the fish flavours

Gourmet Perle - but only** if it comes out of a tin and not a pouch 🙄

MidnightMeltdown · 05/10/2022 17:09

EmpressaurusWitchDoesntBurn · 01/10/2022 14:27

Classics wet food and Wellbeloved dry food. And he loves his Lick-e-lixes.

Mine like Wellbeloved dry but were DISGUSTED by the Lick-e-likes that I bought them as a treat.

WhoppingBigBackside · 05/10/2022 17:11

DCat will eat Aldi but not Lidl. He'll eat Felix, Sheba and Gourmet Pearl, but likes a bit of variety. If I buy cheap food, I'll need to add lick-e-lix, dreamies, or cat soup to it.
He'll eat any kibble but definitely prefers the chewy and crunchy types.

I tried! Lilys kitchen was rejected in the Meltdown household. I think it was their most hated food yet
