@Allergictoironing Are you ok now?

YesItsMeIDontCare · 12/02/2022 09:29

@PawPaws2022 Thank you for the ice lolly, nowt wrong with a bit of cat drool 😂

@Allergictoironing Are you OK now? Are the cats recovering?

coastergirl · 12/02/2022 10:06

Hope you're ok @Allergictoironing

Papergirl1968 · 12/02/2022 11:59

Flowers Allergic.
How did your interview go, Paws?

Allergictoironing · 12/02/2022 12:13

They think it's probably Gallstones. Despite mentioning it twice, never got any scan not even an ultrasound - have a letter for my GP to arrange that.

Crawled up to bed shortly after getting in & managed a couple of hours kip. Still uncomfortable, though only about a 3-4/10 at it's worst rather than a 9/10. And bear in mind I've had a couple of serious accidents over the years, so tend to give a lower number than most.

Cats are a bit clingy this morning. Texted my boss at about 7am to say I wouldn't be meeting her at the opening event we were attending today & why, she's happy for me to stay in until I feel good enough to go in. So cats will have me all today & possibly some of tomorrow as well

TheLongRider · 12/02/2022 12:26

I had my gallbladder out 6 years ago. I haven't had any problems since and I don't miss the pesky thing. The attacks were awful and even if you follow a low fat diet that won't necessarily stop them.

Allergictoironing · 12/02/2022 12:29

Reading up on the NHS website just now, it says the attacks can last from a few minutes to "up to 5 hours". Well though the worst is over, it still hurts a bit and has been well over 12 hours since onset. Sad

Papergirl1968 · 12/02/2022 15:37

Matt just came within a whisker of getting run over by a van after dashing out of the front door as I came in through it. Van driver stopped, thank goodness, but Matt lost one of his mine lives and I aged by about ten years.
How is ddog, Dove?
And Just? How's things? Are you ok?

Papergirl1968 · 12/02/2022 15:39

Oh and Allergic, I wouldn't dream of going to work tomorrow and in fact not the early part of the week either, if you're still in pain. You can't have got much sleep last night. Look after yourself.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/02/2022 15:42

The Rosemary Conley hip & thigh diet is very good for gall stones, it might help you manage until the hospital can see you. It’s a terrible pain, no wonder you rang them Flowers

Paper that made my stomach lurch. I’m so glad he wasn’t hit.

Allergictoironing · 12/02/2022 15:58

Papergirl I can take things as easy as I want tomorrow, then have Monday off. Tuesday & Thursday are desk based admin mostly, and Wednesday is a short day. I don't work Fridays.

Problem is, we used to be a team of 5 then 1 left. 3 of the remaining 4 only work a 4 days week, and the full timer has just resigned. One of the remaining 3 is off skiing this week, leaving 2 x 4-dayers. The team that partially covers our salary has no admin for the next 3 weeks so we need to cover some of that.....

Pain is only mild now, and I've been dozing on the bed with the cats off & on today as I literally got NO sleep last night. I'll not set my alarm tonight & just get up when I feel like it, then come home what I feel like it. Still a 3-4/10, but I have a good supply of 30/500 co-codamol.

Allergictoironing · 12/02/2022 16:00

Oh, and the team we're covering some of the admin for is the team I want to work for long term, as our team's funding runs out end of May. I have one application in with them now, so brown nosing seems like a good idea (plus they are all lovely)

OrangeBlossom28 · 12/02/2022 16:09

A remarkable thing happened earlier. Martha climbed onto my lap and stayed for about 20 mins. We've had her for 12 years and this is now the 3rd time this has happened!

@Papergirl1968 Archie is doing good thanks. He had another check up early next week to check his stitches and wound. Still not allowed out properly or up and down stairs though. He's really bright though so the worst of the infection has passed.

@Allergictoironing eek hope you recover quickly! My nana had the same and she was convinced it was a heart attach the pain was that bad. Sending some gentle head bumps x

Papergirl1968 · 12/02/2022 16:23

Just see how you feel, Allergic - the staffing problems aren't your fault or your responsibility but I can see the potential advantage in brown nosing.
Glad Archie is doing well, Dove.
Thanks, Fluffy. I couldn't bear to watch but couldn't tear my eyes away either. I'm not religious but thanks to the Gods, the universe or whoever was looking out for him. Extra treats and hugs for Matt and the other pets tonight!

Allergictoironing · 12/02/2022 17:24

Yeah, that's confusing me a bit. The doctor in A&E poked me in exactly the right (or wrong!) place to leave me breathless with pain, but reading up on gallstones they place them higher than I have the pain. My pain is more in the appendix area, just below the belly button and to the right, whereas the pain in my back is same side but slightly higher. But unlikely to be appendix, as not really any signs of infection...

Supersimkin2 · 12/02/2022 17:41

Sympathies Allergic, gallstones hurt. Jesus Mary Joseph and the wee Donkey, I’m amazed you weren’t rolling on the floor. Did the same here, called the Ambo, but medics only do ‘watchful waiting’ now. Ponstan stops a bit of the action down there.

Well done darling Matt. You need a self-care evening Paper. Intensive, with medicinal wine.

Supersimkin2 · 12/02/2022 17:42

Martha! So cuddly, such an honour.

Papergirl1968 · 12/02/2022 19:19

I wish I liked alcohol but I don't. Knocking back the Mini Eggs instead however, Lana! Wink

Supersimkin2 · 12/02/2022 21:45

Quite right 😀.

I’m easing into Aldi’s seasonal offering. It was a fiver, is my excuse. Classy bird, see.

Its as good as the M&S £20 version, albeit labelling rather more violent pink.

I wish I didn't like alcohol 😳

I love this!

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/02/2022 07:25

@coastergirlDon’t worry your 40’s will put a stop to that, anything over a thimble full of alcohol and you wake up feeling awful & looking rough af.

The cat who swore undying love pre-breakfast is now in the dressing room ignoring me.

nettie434 · 13/02/2022 08:28

Sorry to hear about the gallstones Allergic. Agree with TheLongRider about surgery. My brother had his gallbladder out as they kept on coming back after surgery.

Glad Matt is ok Papergirl. And Archie too Dove.

This is for you PawPaws2022. Paws has a cousin who visits other people's bathrooms!

Dhs current hobbies currently include telling me the cat is too fat while offering treats at regular intervals eg would she like some turkey with that chicken? As I whip the plate away.

Somehow it’s my fault she’s heavier!
