Thug cat part 4. After all, it's not my Axminster.

By popular request, a furtherance of the Saga of TC the Stripey.

For anyone unfamiliar, this is a story of a war of attrition over the last two years waged by a fat stripey cat on the innocent and long suffering members (feline and human) of the Grumpy household. Now running at almost 3000 posts, clearly TC would give Grendel a run for his money

All literary references welcome, we've already had Shakespeare, Saki, James Thurber, The KJV bible, Judith Kerr, EM Forster, Benny Hill Shock and of course our own Supersimkin2 (to name but a few).

"Please save me from that cat"
"Don't go and leave me alone with that cat"
"Next time you drive off with that cat on the roof - keep going"

AlfonsoTheMango · 08/06/2021 11:23

What a lovely dog. His eyes are begging for freedom from the tyranny of TC.

Grin

He does look very perturbed. Poor love.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 08/06/2021 18:52

TC is actually being friendly at this afternoon. I've even stroked his tum (briefly) and not been savaged Shock. Should I be worried?

He has to be nice to you occasionally. Otherwise you'd just avoid him completely and he'd never be able to get close enough to maul you. Much better to keep you on your toes by randomly switching between naughty and nice. Either that or the dog's had a word Grin

AlfonsoTheMango · 08/06/2021 19:45

It's basic psychology: unpredictable rewards are more gratifying than predictable ones. Tomorrow he'll be back to his usual self.

But isn't he a cutie pie?

Supersimkin2 · 10/06/2021 00:01

Centrefold shot the best ever tribute to a tum of triumph.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/06/2021 20:44

Everyone is too hot to think about taking offence this evening.

So much going on in that picture! Shock Karl (or Lenny) appears to be on fire and TC is cowering! What's going on Grumpy?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/06/2021 21:06

Lenny is even more on fire in this one Grin

We are definitely under attack. I heard DW shouting outside so looked out of the library window where I'm working.
Two of NDN's dogs trying to break in through the patio doors. TC was also on the patio but out of shot. Is he using them as a decoy???

Pincer movement. Used by Napoleon to great effect.

Bad luck @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

It is the duty of POW to escape.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/06/2021 16:33

TC has been around constantly over the last week (NDNs have been away).
I did discover he doesn't have a conplete upper hand though when I was letting the dogs out next door and TC was coming in. The collie turned round and jumped on TC. I now look on the collie with more affection Grin.
TC front of house earlier today.

Now you are under attack by TC and his canine army! Where does Sybil stand on dogs?

purrswhileheeats · 14/06/2021 16:49

Poor pups were fearing for their lives Sad

Love how TC terrorises two (or more?) households yet looks simultaneously smug and bored Grin

Supersimkin2 · 14/06/2021 17:45

Are NDN away = on a holiday for which you verified paperwork for both flights/away = TC is your cat now, dogs thrown in as gift with purchase.

Supersimkin2 · 14/06/2021 17:46

It's just I'm trying to cheer you up @Grumpy - those two options for TC's owners are the good ones, see.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/06/2021 06:33

@Supersimkin2
I hope not - if so I've ended up with NDN's DS as well ShockGrin
He wasn't on holiday, but was working very long hours, hence I was going in to let the dogs out periodically.

You can probably get council funding for the child. The cats will eat Lily’s Kitchen, the youngster will prove useful for animal husbandry and petcare tasks.

Result!!!!

FricasseeTurnips · 15/06/2021 10:21

You can probably get council funding for the child.

You could probably put TC into a zoo as well*.

*You might have to chuck him over the fence after closing time though.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/06/2021 11:14

DW was daft enough to leave a window open in the living room today after she left the room. (It's usually me who gets blamed for any of TC's transgressions Grin).

Went in to find Basil sitting on his favourite sofa looking relaxed and TC sitting on the floor. Needless to say he was very ungracious while leaving, hissing and spitting firstly at DW and then at Lenny who came in while he was ushered out.
I really wouldn't mind if he weren't so ill mannered.

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/06/2021 13:08

You mean you usher him out with hospitality and you accuse him of being ill-mannered Grin.

What about the Parable of the Good Samaritan, eh?

FricasseeTurnips · 15/06/2021 13:54

How "ill mannered" would he be if you simply left him in situ? The poor lad has obviously been abandoned by his owners and is being bullied by his canine army those awful dogs.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 23/06/2021 17:13

Our four cats relaxing? HmmGrin

Peace and harmony seems to be breaking out all over today.
