Thug cat part 4. After all, it's not my Axminster.

By popular request, a furtherance of the Saga of TC the Stripey.

For anyone unfamiliar, this is a story of a war of attrition over the last two years waged by a fat stripey cat on the innocent and long suffering members (feline and human) of the Grumpy household. Now running at almost 3000 posts, clearly TC would give Grendel a run for his money

All literary references welcome, we've already had Shakespeare, Saki, James Thurber, The KJV bible, Judith Kerr, EM Forster, Benny Hill Shock and of course our own Supersimkin2 (to name but a few).

oops - continued.

in the evening, after which he answered NDN's call and went home.

2 hours later we're sitting in the living room (humans and cats) watching the idiot tube with the windows wide open but curtains shut. There's a loud thud and Stripes appears on the living room floor looking pleased with himself. He's now been removed.

I love the way he puts his back legs like that.

A TC thud - what a way to liven up your eveningGrin

purrswhileheeats · 20/07/2021 21:41

TC's back legs don't appear to be working, did you immobilise him? Shock

Ellmau · 20/07/2021 22:00

Of course it's one of the dogs' beds

Surely they all belong to the cat?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/07/2021 22:53

It is a very daft position. Lenny sometimes gets into that pose when he's stalking a toy but none of the others do.
A close up of TC's rear for your amusement.

Are there any TC updates, Grumpy?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/07/2021 13:21

He’s on annual leave.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/07/2021 13:27

TC or Grumpy?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/07/2021 14:15

TC. It’s much harder being TC than being Grumpy.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/07/2021 14:20

Where is he? Vegas? Nevada?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/07/2021 14:58

I’m picturing a yoga retreat to realign his chakras.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 25/07/2021 14:58

I thought the vet had removed those :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/07/2021 15:09

😹

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 25/07/2021 19:09

Neither TC nor I are on annual leave. Grin.

Did have an amusing encounter a few evenings ago (when it was still 'scorchio') but I'm afraid no photo. Having the left the patio doors open and unattended we found TC inside the living room, looking out and Basil outside looking in.

That picture would have been priceless!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 25/07/2021 22:44

I humbly apologise for my abject failure to capture it. (I kicked myself afterwards Grin)
An appropriate caption would have been 'What's wrong with this picture?'

The attached is from the day afterwards when a more conventional balance of power had been resumed.

We have a security camera covering the patio which mainly seems to show a whole range of cats visiting overnight whilst our boy cat hides under the patio chairs and our girl cat attempts to see them off.

purrswhileheeats · 26/07/2021 17:39

Grumpy it's just not good enough; we appreciate you 'have a new job' but what's more important, putting food on the TC's table or keeping your followers happy? You need to go away and think about this! Wink

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 26/07/2021 20:43

I stand suitably chastised.
As an alternative offering, DS1 is in France at the moment. He has just sent me this photo of the family cat where he is staying.

"Well kitty cat..why don't you just make yourself at home!?"
Cat: I have no idea to what you are referring..but, .I WOULD like to know whose big idea it was to put a bag of Doritos in my bed!

AnneKipankitoo · 27/07/2021 07:18

Cat’s doing what comes nachorally.

Shame we couldn't see the TC inside/BasiI outside encounter. What amazes me about TC is that he seems to be constantly alert to any chance to get into Grumpy's house.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/07/2021 09:13

It's his sheer persistence that astonishes me.
He's been doing this for three or four years yet never gets bored of trying to gain entry.
Perhaps I should be flattered. Hmm

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 27/07/2021 09:21

That’s the Bengal in him. Their relentless.

SometimesIFeedTheSparrows · 27/07/2021 10:01

I think you need to change your mindset. He doesn't see it as years of trying to gain entry to your house. As far as he's concerned, the inside of your house is just the part of his territory that he visits less than the outside.
