Glad to read that Darcy is a bit better Just. Fingers crossed it continues. I love the photo of boycat Allergic. Now I will think of him like a male actor in those Hollywood classics cast for appearance but little else - like Seth Starkadder in Cold Comfort Farm will clearly become. Hope you are soon feeling better QueenPaws.

Re cats vision, as they really don't see things the way we do - something to do with 'rods' and 'cones'. Cats may also be colour blind. They have better peripheral and night vision, which helps them hunting, but even if they agreed to help find a dropped contact lens, they couldn't find it, because - as fluffyclouldland says - their near vision is not good.

@TheLongRider you're right! I'm here for cat photos, and just the lovely friendship.

@AlwaysLatte you're new aren't you? Welcome! Thank you. Walter is a rescue cat. He came with his name. I was going to change it because my late paternal grandad was called Walter, so I thought my family would hate it. I come from a family of cat haters. They all said he suited it so I should keep it. He does suit it! When he was in the vets after being hit by a car, every person from the vets who called me with an update complimented me on his name.

I had another little rescue cat called Bertie. He was a feral kitten. He was named after my other grandad who was also a cat hater! He was terminally ill when I got Bertie and surprisingly he approved of the name. Last Sunday Bertie came in and became suddenly extremely poorly. I rushed him to the emergency vets and he was put to sleep in my arms on Monday afternoon. He had antifreeze poisoning. The ladies on this thread have been so incredibly supportive and have really got me through such an awful time. I still feel heartbroken but better than I did.

QueenPaws · 01/12/2020 00:26

Paws is still asleep on the chair. I sound like I'm hacking up a hairball, got upper back pain and a headache too
Ollie is assisting the headache by wailing at me Hmm

coastergirl · 01/12/2020 00:39

@QueenPaws I really hope you feel better soon. Ollie needs to look after you!

QueenPaws · 01/12/2020 00:43

Debating whether to leave him sleeping and check on him in a few hours. He seems content enough

coastergirl · 01/12/2020 01:22

Awww leave him sleeping.

TheLongRider · 01/12/2020 01:37

Let him sleep, Ollie will probably wake you if there's an issue. A fecking howling vixen patrolling my suburb woke me up.

QueenPaws · 01/12/2020 05:38

Ollie woke me up wailing. No issue, just "whyyyy is stinky still here?"
They've both had breakfast and paws has left

swampytiggaa · 01/12/2020 07:22

Oh @coastergirl Walter is gorgeous! I’d love a black and white cat but H says no 😢 I’m taking that as a not yet tho 😂😂

swampytiggaa · 01/12/2020 07:23

I bought the dimwits a present. Apparently it’s the best thing ever for sleeping in 🙄

@coastergirl
Oh poor Bertie, and poor you. Antifreeze is such a nasty product :-( So sorry. It's heartbreaking when they go. I still remember my lovely blue persian Oliver who died 20+ years ago now. They are such lovely little friends.

QueenPaws · 01/12/2020 17:15

No mama, I am not overgrooming, how rude of you to think that
Ollie, you're sat RIGHT by the evidence HmmGrin

Allergictoironing · 01/12/2020 17:34

Queen are you sure that's not the result of a tiff between him & Paws? Shock

QueenPaws · 01/12/2020 17:47

@Allergictoironing definitely not, I heard the licking and came out to find him sat innocently Grin

Allergictoironing · 01/12/2020 18:11

Ah well, time for more steroid injections for poor Ollie Sad

QueenPaws · 01/12/2020 22:06

Paws is teaching him BAD habits. That was my cup of tea

Papergirl1968 · 01/12/2020 22:46

Paws is making himself at home, Queen. Perhaps you ought to set him up with a little tea tray for when he stays overnight. I love how he has breakfast before he leaves. Grin
Are you feeling any better?

QueenPaws · 01/12/2020 22:54

I think I actually have a chest infection so ringing the GP tomorrow
If paws wants food now he goes and stands at the cupboard and looks at me Grin

Papergirl1968 · 01/12/2020 23:13

You might need some antibiotics or something.
Clearly Paws feels the service is a bit slow!

nettie434 · 02/12/2020 00:34

It just shows how much covid has changed things that I guess we should hope it is a chest infection, QueenPaws. Here's some Brew to make up for the one Ollie drank.

QueenPaws · 02/12/2020 11:15

I have antibiotics! Chest infection
Not seen paws, I figure he's averaging out his human contact and will be back when he's ready

YesItsMeIDontCare · 02/12/2020 11:42

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but

YAY for just being a chest infection 🤦🏼‍♀️😁

D'you think Paws might have a spare 2nd home? He seems to come and go like NMC Barney did 🤷🏼‍♀️

QueenPaws · 02/12/2020 11:53

Cats protection reckon he lives outside most of the time now. Most days he pops in 2-6 times a day and can come in any time from 6am - into the early hours and no set routine except he is very exact. He will always appear on the dot so 10.15, 2.30, 4, never at say 10.17 HmmConfused

Papergirl1968 · 02/12/2020 12:08

Paws is going to have a shock when you go back to work (as in out to work not WFH).

QueenPaws · 02/12/2020 12:09

I know Blush and Ollie! Work have said I'm not to go back to the office until I'm happy but if I want to go in say on a Saturday every few weeks I can do that or stay at home
