Good news, very @Papergirl1968 Grin

Allergictoironing · 25/08/2020 13:46

Nah, called the local rescue my DSis got her cats from for them to use or sell it as best fills their needs. They will drop in & pick it up when nearby Smile

QueenPaws · 25/08/2020 15:09

Yes, I am sat on the worktop. And?

Cheeky face!

@Supersimkin2

catproofgardens.eu/en/. I was looking at this system. Affordable and discreet.

Supersimkin2 · 25/08/2020 19:52

@Fluffycloudland77 thanks more than I can say for this. I suspect you've just saved someone from despair. She and DS can't not have a cat.

coastergirl · 26/08/2020 02:23

Sorry to hear about the poor bengal. My first cat was killed by a car and it was devastating.

My two have switched modes over the past few days. They're usually pretty boring tbh. The last few days we've had regular zoomies, chasing each other in and out of the house, loud complaining, diving on furniture and generally causing chaos. This was them after finally settling down last night.

Mine are like that at the mo coastergirl, last night was chaos. I'm putting it down to the high winds & stormy weather in general.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 26/08/2020 09:08

@Supersimkin2 - What is your friends garden like? I've noticed that the local cats can't get through the ivy at the back of the garden. It only goes along the top of the fence though.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 26/08/2020 11:22

A long way back now - but well done Cap'n V!

Supersimkin2 · 26/08/2020 14:17

Shit in the bed. Only a small one. Rest in tray.

Poor little boy was at the other end of the bed looking frightened, staring miserably at it. I have removed it, cuddled him, nice clean tray. Will change sheets when he wakes up.

Am sending off for fibre supplements and trying to stay calm in case my reaction causes anxiety and makes him hold it in, heaven forbid.

Supersimkin2 · 26/08/2020 14:35

Just checked on Capn in case I mentally scarred him by getting the clean sheets out in a flouncy manner.

The traumatised animal was snoring on his back with paws in the air. When gently woken by the softest of kisses, he flicked my face away and staggered blearily to the kitchen to demand an extra meal.

QueenPaws · 26/08/2020 15:10

He sounds very relaxed Grin
Ollie has been sat in the window, blocking paws from getting in
Paws sat on the bench like "can I come in? No. Ok then. I just wait"

Papergirl1968 · 26/08/2020 16:46

Poo on the floor by the litter tray here last night. We have a big hooded one and a little one which I think is actually for kittens.
Matt likes the little one but can’t fit both his front paws and his enormous arse into it. He normally sits with his bum in and his front paws out but this time I think the bum overhung the edge!

nettie434 · 27/08/2020 08:44

Good luck today with the nerve block Allergic. Hope Boycat and Girlcat are ready to welcome you home with post operative support!

Good luck Allergic Flowers thinking of you & kitties.

Making friends. Hobbes has got over his temper tantrum and had been play chasing the kitten all morning.

Allergictoironing · 27/08/2020 19:38

Argh! I got up about 2 hours earlier than usual this morning as I had to e at the hospital for 7.30am. Got there in plenty of time, with DSis sitting in her car in the car park waiting to see if it was worth her driving home & coming back, depending on where I was in the queue.

About 9am I get told there had been a bit of an administrative error, and all the people on the pm list had been sent am times Angry. So sent DSis home.

Then got told that as there was at least 1 person on the list who was anxious so scheduled to have sedation, NOBODY on the list could be allowed anything to eat or anything with milk in to drink. However much I argued that I had no intention of having any sedation, the best I could have was black coffee (drink mine white usually) or black tea (hate tea without milk). So having had zero food since 7.15 the evening before, and no tea since 7 this morning, you can understand how I felt when I saw a lovely hot lunch being served to someone who HAD been done this morning Sad.

Still at least all done now so should be feeling better in a couple of days. Cats aren't talking to me, because DSis came in & sat with me for a bit when we got home.

Supersimkin2 · 27/08/2020 20:09

Being denied a cuppa is unreasonably awful, isn't it. And under times of stress! How could they?!*!

Well done tho. Kitties will be upon you shortly.

Nemo!! darling little love, so loving and friendly! Hobbes looks very paternal.

Allergictoironing · 27/08/2020 20:21

Being denied a cuppa is unreasonably awful, isn't it. And under times of stress! How could they?!

I gather that loads of people can feel (or be!) sick if they eat or drink before sedation or GA. As a long term user of such things (for medical purposes only of course) I can categorically state that I can eat lightly up to 2 hours before any procedure, and drink milky tea up to 30 mins before, with zero ill effects. I could probably push that closer, but never tried.

At least they didn't make me stay in "recovery" for nearly an hour, like they did at the other place I had the same thing done at a couple of years ago. It was tea & a croissant within 5 mins of getting off the operating table, discharge papers as soon as they saw I'd got dressed, and out of the door right after that so probably within 20 mins of the procedure. Then straight home & decent tea plus FOOOOOD.

Supersimkin2 · 27/08/2020 20:35

No cat would put up with it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2020 20:55

God that’s awful & the cats have fallen out with you too. Croissants! You didn’t used to get them on the nhs.

I wasn’t seen till 4pm last time I was in, didn’t get out till nearly 8 & couldn’t eat what they offered due to allergies & had to promise to eat when I got in. Had a McDonald’s on the way home. First words to dh “is the cat ok?”.

Papergirl1968 · 27/08/2020 20:57

Thank goodness that’s over, Allergic. Hope you enjoyed your nosh.

TheLongRider · 27/08/2020 20:58

I hope your recovery is swift Allergic

Allergictoironing · 27/08/2020 22:14

Ah but though this was on the NHS, it wasn't in an NHS hospital. As private hospitals don't do A&E there's much less chance of there being Covid there, and this one has been certified Covid free. So the local health authority has done a deal with this place so they can start to clear their extended waiting lists by doing comparatively minor stuff there.

I seem to have been forgiven. Just escaped after an hour of Boycat wrapped round my hand next to me on the sofa, having his belly & neck tickled - had to move as under strict consultant orders to not stay in the same position for too long. Girlcat meanwhile is on the back of the sofa about as close as she can get to me & still pretend it's a coincidence.

TheLongRider · 27/08/2020 22:30

More friendships forming. It's very hard to resist a purring kitten for long.
