I have a to put eye drops in my old boy's eyes quite frequently. Approaching him.from behind so that his body is caught between my knees and I have both hands free to hold his head and put the drops in. Cats tend to reverse so my knees prevent him from escaping. It's not easy and he tries to run away when he hears me getting the medicine out of its packaging.

He does forgive me though. He's currently curled up on my knee purring in his sleep.

Two months of lockdown with video meetings for DH without cat related incidents, until yesterday. DD might be going to the local secondary and the Head had arranged an online meeting with small groups of prospective parents.

All is going well, we can see the other families, we've had a mini presentation and some Q&A. When it's our turn to talk, twat cat decides to march in front of the screen with his tail giving me the appearance of a luxury moustache! He certainly picks his moments.

Instant admission for Miss Mini Long - you can tell if the head is any good by how fast the offer arrives Grin

He is very, very sweet. So glossy!

ClientQ · 05/06/2020 23:35

I decided to take apart the spare ollies bed for the tip at 10pm. Ollie came to look and legged it to somewhere safe away from the mad woman with a screwdriver Grin

After making up the desk last night, I am impressed that you still feel able to wield the screwdriver today.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2020 17:03

I’m impressed your tips taking furniture. I’ve got a three seater sofa, a huge footstool and a second hand scratty armchair dh got from work to get rid of and the tip won’t take any of it. Bulky collections out too.

How is the eye looking @Allergictoironing?.

Allergictoironing · 06/06/2020 20:18

Slightly worse today I think Fluffy Sad. Definitely more gummy weeping going on, on the outer part now as well as the inner, and looks a little more swollen. But it only first5 came up on Thursday night, and treatment started yesterday afternoon, so lets give it a chance then I'm due to call the vet again on Monday.

So far managed to get drops in last night & twice so far today (3x daily they're supposed to be) but not sure how much longer he'll tolerate it.

ClientQ · 06/06/2020 20:39

@Fluffycloudland77 yep bulky collection is back on, £20 so not too pricey either
Paws just jumped on the windowsill and promptly fell off Confused

Did he have an antibiotic injection?.

It’s £25 here Queen.

Supersimkin2 · 06/06/2020 21:15

£120 here. I was buggered if I was going to pay that for getting shot of the old sofa so I sawed it up and disposed of it in bin bags, front legs sticking out like human remains.

Back legs sticking out of bin at bus stop.

Cap'n deserved a new sofa, loves it.

Allergictoironing · 06/06/2020 21:29

Don't think so Fluffy, she only mentioned drops. I fully intend to bring it up on Monday though.

£27.50 here for bulky waste, but that's for up to 4 items so sofa, 2 chairs & footstool, or table & 3 chairs etc.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/06/2020 22:32

Hopefully another 24hrs will help.

coastergirl · 07/06/2020 01:26

Walter is asleep on me and he weighs a tonne! I took a couple of photos trying to show his bulk, but he's lying on a cream blanket so that doesn't help.

I took the Bertie photo earlier when he was demanding attention. He cut his paw somehow this morning which I discovered when I saw red paw prints all over. I couldn't catch him but it just seemed to stop. He seems ok.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2020 15:50

Is Bertie happy to be home?.

How’s the eye now @Allergictoironing?

Supersimkin2 · 07/06/2020 18:06

@Allergictoironing how is eye?

Allergictoironing · 07/06/2020 19:15

Eye seems slightly better today, back where it was on Friday. He's being an absolute superstar, resigned to me prying his eye open & putting drops in without running away in a panic as soon as I'm finished.

Being even more of a cuddle monster than usual (if that's possible), just come down from a 45 minute cuddle on the bed and only stopped because I needed the loo. Left him dozing away while I go back to watching the Watchmen film - he prefers sport and wildlife on the TV to action films Grin

Papergirl1968 · 07/06/2020 19:43

Aww, glad that it’s a bit better than yesterday. And that he is a forgiving little soul Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2020 19:49

You’d think they’d have some understanding we’re not trying to murder 5hem with eye drops wouldn’t you?.

Papergirl1968 · 07/06/2020 20:14

You’d think so! But most don’t...Sad

Allergictoironing · 07/06/2020 21:29

Ah but this is my Boycat we're talking about - he is a cat of very little understanding at the best of times!
Fluffycloudland77 · 07/06/2020 21:33

Maybe they class us all as 99% reliable, 1% potential cat murderer.

Paws has been in twice within the hour. Ollie has snored through it

That's good news about Boycat's eye, Allergic. Very impressed he has let you put them in comparatively easily.

Are you going to tell Ollie that he missed two visits, ClientQ or is it best just to hope Paws keeps quiet? Grin
ClientQ · 07/06/2020 23:19

I don't think ollie even cares now Grin he sometimes opens one eye and goes back to sleep
