I had my Pets at Home delivery today (their favorite litter) - 3 x 30 litres wood pellet litter, a 40 pouch box of fish flavour Felix AGAIL, and top ups of Dreamies.

The DPD delivery driver was definitely shorter than me (I'm 5'2") and looked like about a size 6 - she JOGGED up the steps to my house with each giant box. I eventually managed to haul each one through the house into the junk room conservatory, one at a time with a 15 minute rest in between.

Gods I feel ancient & knackered these days Sad, gone are the days I'd think nothing of slinging a full sack of horse feed over each shoulder & carrying them up the yard.

LanaorAna2 · 25/07/2018 21:24

Cut yourself some slack, she's prob on steroids or something :) Or a man :)

It's too hot to hurry around with huge boxes. Smart move on getting delivery rather than staggering to the shops.

My back won't cope with collecting ONE sack of litter these days, I'm not sure whether the carrying it to/from the car is the worst, or hauling it out of the boot.

She was definitely a woman (or transitioned a long time ago, must be PC here!). Quite feminine looking, and not particularly big muscles that I noticed.

Ollie does look a little dyspeptic there. If Boycat eats too much, he promptly upchucks in the middle of the floor.

LanaorAna2 · 26/07/2018 09:30

Just cleaned up sick myself :)

Take care of that back. Rest it in this heat.

We've got a natural phenomenon! Tomorrow!!

Posting this so the cats can howl under a blood moon. Can't see Olli missing that opportunity. Details:

The timing of the eclipse depends on your location in the UK.
In the UK, the "blood moon" will rise in the south-eastern sky already immersed completely in the Earth's shadow.
Moonrise will be at 20.49 BST in London, and 21.46 in Glasgow.
The moon will rise in locations west and north of London up to 30 minutes later.
Mid-eclipse is at 21.21 BST and the "total" phase of the eclipse ends at 22.13.

Only 2 x 50g pouches consumed so far today

'Only'??? Grin

Ollivander84 · 26/07/2018 13:21

That's a diet day for him Grin
Of course when it's really hot, you pile up all the cushions and then lie on them

Pigsick of endless feeding here too. Five pouches yest. I'm giving in because of the gravy element.

Poor little Mr C was so hot yesterday he couldn't do The Cuddle at bedtime. The second the temp dropped at about 3am, I was woken by his special kitten voice he uses for me, and a furry head flicked my slumbering hand onto his back. Ear-splitting purrs. Was even proffered belly.

Blood moon tonight! May I remind all Ladies of the Litter that this is a prime opportunity for pet portraits. And that our exclusive subscriber publication, The Litter Tray Calendar, will be appearing in 2019.

Last year's work featured the moving and revelatory study of 'asbo with toilet roll', a study in the verite style espoused by Martin Parr, and to many viewers, an image that surpasses Parr's finest work.

Highlights also included the very earliest known pictures of PB, showcasing his exquisite fur colouring and bold stare at the camera, engaging the observer in a silent but effective demand for mousie.

Representing the YBA movement is Mr C, whose spontaneous pose while grooming gave rise to the much-commented upon portrait 'Bollocks'.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 27/07/2018 10:45

I think Ginge and Fred deserve a page this year :)

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/07/2018 11:46

My dh did comment on the gentleman area month.

We need a picture of ginger, rat in mouth titled "BossBabe".

LanaorAna2 · 27/07/2018 12:08

Your suggestions have been noted and passed to the Editorial Board.
Consultations will be had with the publication's backer and progenitor. We will be commissioning in Sep 2018.

No ugly rows about the cover star will be entered into. :)

Ollivander84 · 27/07/2018 15:10

Zooplus is due to deliver vast amounts of kitten food today. What's the hope that Ollie won't mug the driver? BlushGrin

LanaorAna2 · 27/07/2018 15:56

That would make a good photo.

Is any of the industrial catering size delivery destined for Fred 'n' Ginge? Can you still afford to feed yourself?? Grin

Perhaps the calendar should be a fundraiser for The Fat Feral Trust.

Ollivander84 · 27/07/2018 16:01

Sadly it's all for Mr "I so hungry"
Says unable to deliver. Either the neighbours wouldn't open the main door or O has mugged them...

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 27/07/2018 16:17

Tsk. How could a deliveryman with any conscience at all leave a helpless kitty starving and frail?

F&G will like Dreamies anyway. Kitten crack - push it while they're young...

Ollivander84 · 27/07/2018 16:43

Fred liked the dreamies. Binge looked disgusted at me

LanaorAna2 · 27/07/2018 18:09

She has a more discriminating nature. Maybe try again, I've never known a cat that won't.

It's raining buckets in London. People are gathered in the streets looking up in awe.

Ollivander84 · 27/07/2018 19:08

Ollie won't touch them Hmm

LanaorAna2 · 27/07/2018 22:11

Not a drop of blood moon to be seen.

All my attempts at artistic pet photography are dampened by the presence of very thick cloud, building dust (they only knocked off at 8pm) and Mr C throwing a fit of artistic pique due to lack of bacon bits on his pizza.

Have to be another dick pic then.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/07/2018 22:32

Thick cloud here too. No rain mind you.

Ollivander84 · 27/07/2018 23:16

The papers are admitting it's climate change in action, the heatwave that is.

Hilariously, the BBC, have just mentioned it - days later than everyone else - as a 'possibility' in one bullet point at the end of the news before the Amusing Animal feature. I wonder if Beeb policy also explains why their weather coverage is shit.

Maybe a Scottish Lady rang up and told Michael Fish that 'there's Climate Change on the way'. So he told everyone not to worry, she was talking rubbish.

Ollivander84 · 28/07/2018 13:04

Yodel have lugged this to my door. Spot Ollie...
