I understand the 'tantrum' that occurs when a favourite toy is lost ( I missed the first post but I assume the cat was NOT happy about it!) - my DCat fell in love with a set of three white mouse toys I bought on a whim in a Waitrose absolutely miles from where I live 9 months ago......one was just boring and white, one had a fluffy tail and one RATTLED when shaken... you can imagine the one he loved the most, especially in the middle of the night! We are now down to the final 'white mouse' and I'm trying to preserve for as long as possible until I can next get back to a Waitrose (and hope they still sell them) ..... as soon as I hear the yowl and scratching under the sofa I'm there with the long stick to rescue it again! I really don't know how I'll break it to him if I find they are no longer available 😿

Goodness, Lana, who knows - HIM, HIM, Trading conditions, HIM, Chinese watercolours, HIM, HIM, the weather.................

Probably HIM. (But I could be doing him an injustice.)

I imagine it's - ME, mice, ME, food, ME, ME, unacceptable temperature conditions, ME, food... Grin

Could be......Grin

It's true about the temperature, though. He doesn't really know what 'weather' is but he's happiest if I leave the heating on overnight so that he can play in comfort!

Ollie ventured out today for about ten minutes. Then hurtled back through the window screeching. I think it was "you tricked me, sun was out but no heat"

RustyPaperclips · 03/02/2018 00:40

Oh yes the photo. He is quite a big boy and very snuggly

RustyPaperclips · 03/02/2018 00:44

I can't post the photo for some reason Confused

Ollivander84 · 03/02/2018 10:58

I am full of this delightful tonsillitis/bacterial thing. Ollie bustled into the bedroom last night, curled up on the pillow about 2 inches from my face and slammed his paw over my wrist "human is ill. I NURSE CAT". Slept there for 8 hours Grin

Lanaorana2 · 03/02/2018 11:01

Woken up with this, followed by frightful retching on the pillow. C, there is a sewing shop near me, will let you know if I can get red feathers.

Lanaorana2 · 03/02/2018 11:57

MN is broken. Cut and paste this, C and everyone for laffs

SoupDragon · 03/02/2018 13:04

I have no idea what this thread is about but I have lots of red feathers if someone needs them!

cozietoesie · 03/02/2018 16:05

Two of the three (still much loved) brown mice and a despised white mouse showing what they once looked like - with red feathers of course.

Right. I daresay those can be handmade. I can send off for some felt.

Soup We are trying to replace PB's favourite toy, his brown mouse with red feathers, and we can't buy them any more, so I am going to make them badly.

Your red feathers are perfect - would be brilliant, yes please

C. I am crap at sewing but it will be better than nothing. A bit better. Shall I start with say 5 and then once PB has inspected, adjust and produce a second version?

Is the string from mouse to feather wool-coated wire? Elastic? How long is the entire mouse inc tailfeathers?

O take it easy, I know your nurse is giving you the best possible patient care. Keep up with the cuppas and cuddles. Grin

Send me a PM and I’ll stick some in an envelope :)

SoupDragon · 03/02/2018 17:22

FatCat looks only vaguely interested in them.

cozietoesie · 03/02/2018 17:33

He's got some of those. Regards them as a bit ..........inadequate. (I have to say, though, that I worry about raising generations of cats who think that mice have feathered tails! If a real one sauntered past, he'd possibly run away screaming about 'strange rear ends'. Grin)

cozietoesie · 03/02/2018 17:37

FatCat looks a bit more than 'vaguely' interested to me. Wink

Lanaorana2 · 03/02/2018 17:46

I'll have to start sewing then. Soup you are our rescue and our saviour - thank you so much, I will PM you shortly when I get the right pc back.

Lanaorana2 · 03/02/2018 18:35

Five brown felts ordered in shades ranging from 'Autumn Symphony' to 'Paradise in Peat'.

C is the red thread wool or cotton. Or cashmere?

SoupDragon · 03/02/2018 18:36

No problems.

FatCat raised his head briefly but it was all too much effort in the end :) it’s part of why he’s a kilo over weight again.
