My dad asked why one side of the sofa had a dent in it
"I'm not sure" I replied

You know what your dad should treat you to? An emerald-green velvet sofa to set off Olli's sable fur to its gleaming best.

That's if he's making remarks about the furniture, of course. Grin

Ollivander84 · 24/02/2018 21:15

He's not a cat person Grin at all

LanaorAna2 · 24/02/2018 21:49

Give him a week with O...

cozietoesie · 24/02/2018 22:07

There's truth to that, Lana. Smile

My father didn't much like cats - circumstances - and then we got Firstcat. Grin

Look at my cousin, who deliberately 'lost' two indoor Bengals by letting them out on the first day he was having them to stay during family emergency, but six weeks later refused to hand them back.

He says 'You can't imagine life with them, then you can't imagine life without them' in a bewildered voice.

They sleep on his head now. He has hired a pet nanny to entertain them if he works late. He has changed his dating profile to 'cat-lover'.He has been on no dates since he got the cats as he wants to be on time for their supper.

cozietoesie · 24/02/2018 23:03

There's a story that I was once told. You all will know that many Moslems won't have dogs in their houses as they're ritually unclean. The Bedu get round this with their Salukis by 'not regarding them as dogs'.

Maybe Bengals are treated similarly?

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 24/02/2018 23:05

IE - they're Bengals and not cats. Wink

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 24/02/2018 23:17

Well, he does refer to them only as Bengals - that must be it.

By the way, I asked the Iman on Visit My Mosque Day if the story about Mohammed cutting round his cloak so as not to disturb a sleeping cat was true. The Iman said no one really knows even though they have spent centuries trying to prove it for sure, but it most likely is true.

Weedsnseeds1 · 25/02/2018 01:39

fluffycloud" I had all the kickboards removed in the middle of the night, during the "settling in" phase!
Lana successful mouse operation completed by the sound of things !Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/02/2018 07:34

Kickboards are obviously in the way & should be removed.

Ollivander84 · 25/02/2018 10:23

O was still refusing to use his bed and sheepskin Hmm
I've raised it up off the floor by putting it on a low storage box and now he's purring away in it. Why are cats so bloody weird?!

LanaorAna2 · 25/02/2018 10:52

Weeds am sharing the limelight with PB.

I've got old-skool skirting. Which would explain the state of the sofa.

cozietoesie · 25/02/2018 14:07

CT is now 19 and a bit degrees. The heating isn't on but the sun is coming through the windows. PB is strutting around as if all his holidays have come at once. Smile

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 25/02/2018 16:02

PB's first staycation! He's loving it, isn't he.

What happens if you actually have to go on holiday C, should that unpleasant occasion ever arise. Pet & Person hostelries are a thing now. (I suspect the world might take some time to adjust to the idea of Hotel Siamese, however. :))

cozietoesie · 25/02/2018 16:06

Taking PB would be ..........interesting. Grin

(I used to go on holiday with Seniorboy, quite the thing, though. As I did with Twoago - took him on a touring holiday among others.) Depends on the cat. Smile

OP posts:
LanaorAna2 · 25/02/2018 16:24

I bet Seniorboy relished new and interesting foods, fresh supply of admirers; he must have loved being fed and patted senseless.

PB is still settling in, plenty of time for his Grand Tour.

Mr C likes a weekend break but I'm not sure he would in this weather.

cozietoesie · 25/02/2018 16:54

I recall taking Twoago to a Vair posh hotel - they'd said they were 'pet-friendly' although I imagine they were thinking retrievers - and we were interrupted before going down to dinner by a very nervous chambermaid....'Chef said ''Would he like some chicken breast lightly sautéed in butter for his supper?' (We accepted on his behalf.)

I reckon that that might have been Mr C's sort of place. Grin

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 25/02/2018 17:13

Sorry. She said He and His. We were clearly adjuncts. Grin

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 25/02/2018 17:28

Ollie wants to visit this hotel now. He reckons he can ask for room service of chicken and ribbons Grin

LanaorAna2 · 25/02/2018 17:31

Grin BRILLIANT Grin

Now I think about it Mr C had a 'spare' Chicken Kiev last night. Blush

Respect, Twoago. Grin

cozietoesie · 25/02/2018 20:17

She asked if she could see 'Him', Ollivander. (I felt like a very junior acolyte ushering someone into the presence of the High Llama. Grin) By that point, 'He' was ensconced on the bed and he gave her a pretty dismissive look.

I think she was satisfied. Wink

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 25/02/2018 20:18

Twoago was, I should add, very beautiful. Smile

when staying in hotels, he and Mick Jagger evidently had more in common than they thought :)

Ollivander84 · 25/02/2018 22:32

I can imagine O would be all "sum pork scratchings an some custard an sum roast chicken AN sum RIBBON. Then you can give me PETS" 😂
