My beautiful cat is missing

Just that, really Sad

She's a house cat and just have got out without me noticing when I let the dogs out, normally not a problem, but I must not have seen her before I shut the door and now she's gone. I'm
Not even sure how long she's been out, and I feel awful.

I've had a wander round the streets, but it got too dark and meant the house was shut up, anyway. I'm now sitting with the back door open and the kitchen light on.

Please tell me she'll be ok and come back, even if you don't believe it Sad

Yay!!!!! Just read this thread, so happy for you!

Don't let her gromph to much food or she will bring it back up, little and often. I'd keep her in with a tray for a while too, check her poo and that she's weeing etc and let her ground herself back home.

Eppia · 28/01/2018 08:34

Amazing news! Delighted for you (and her). Any pics of her, happy to be back home?

BluebellTheDonkey · 28/01/2018 08:49

Yay! Excellent news. Extra cat snuggles todayGrin

prettymess · 28/01/2018 09:00

Oh I’m so pleased for you!

MrsHathaway · 28/01/2018 10:45

Oh I'm so glad - assume she must have got into someone's shed or something.

Extra chin scratches from me 😻

PineappleExpress · 28/01/2018 11:20

Thanks everyone. She appreciates all the extra cuddles from you.
She's not impressed at me only giving her small bits of food, but I'm sure she'll forgive me.
She's a house cat anyway, and was in her litter box for a wee after some food, water and cuddles when she came home. Got her booked in with the vets at 3, just to make sure she's ok.
I kept waking up throughout the night and took so many photos of her because I just couldn't believe it was real. The dogs were very happy to have her back and I think she missed them, too

Glorious girl!

hawleybits · 28/01/2018 11:34

Oh that's wonderful news! 😻

Papergirl1968 · 28/01/2018 11:42

Love a happy ending! I get over invested in the missing kitties on mumsnet!
How did you know she was home? Was she crying at the door or something?

YesItsMeIDontCare · 28/01/2018 11:49

Oh wonderful news OP! Hope she gets a clean bill of health from the vet too.

Give her a little skoosh from me. Smile

PineappleExpress · 28/01/2018 11:57

The dogs let me know, @Papergirl1968. I've been leaving the back door open at night, and the dogs both jumped out of bed around 1am and started snuffling at the door. Half of me thought it was her, and the other thought it was a random cat (a few cheeky neighbourhood cats have been caught on camera sneaking in!), so I carefully opened the door and there she was ❤️

Ahh, must have been a wonderful feeling! Can’t imagine the worry and the relief when you saw her.
Bet she’s going to be well and truly spoiled.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/01/2018 12:13

I love the story about the dogs! I am also so pleased that she is home.

Another kitty that is 'grounded' until further notice.

loulou987 · 28/01/2018 12:43

My cat went missing for 17 days after bringing her to her new home. I spent endless days & night walking the streets calling her name. About 2 weeks has passed & I called the local cattery & spoke to a lovely lady who advised me to put items of clothing that had my scent on outdoors.... every day after that I came in from work & took my socks off and placed them on my doorstep.... low & behold a few days later said kitty was sat next to the socks waiting for me to return from work. Cattery lady told me that our scent can be located by a cat from approx 50 yards away and the wind carries the scent. My cat didn't know what the front of the house looked like ( which was where the socks were ) as she escaped out the back door literally a day after I had brought her to her new home. Weather permitting hang items on the clothes line that have been well worn, if it's raining put worn socks on your doorstep. Let us know how you get on Thanks

loulou987 · 28/01/2018 12:44

Oh I've just noticed that you've found her 💖

PineappleExpress · 28/01/2018 12:55

Ha ha! Thanks, @loulou987! I had a little room set up for her in one of the out houses with blankets, and dirty bedding and clothes. No idea where she was, but I like to think I helped her find her way back.
She's never been outside before, so I was a bit worried she wouldn't be used to the smells, but luckily my gardens are full of (previous occupant's) junk, and she spends most of her time looking out of the windows, so she probably had the area pretty well mapped out, and she couldn't miss our house, if she tried!

I absolutely get how elated you will be feeling ! I got a phone call after 4 months missing from such a lovely lady that had felt sorry for our tabby cat in the rain. I got in the car and drove a mile away to get her. I promised her chicken everyday for the rest of her life and 9 years on she’s still loving her chicken. So ,so pleased you got her back ! xx

timtam23 · 28/01/2018 23:40

So pleased to hear she's home!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 29/01/2018 07:05

That’s brilliant news, I’m so glad she’s home!

Incrediblehulky · 29/01/2018 10:36

So glad to hear that she is home! Wonderful news I an so pleased for you. What a relief that must be 😊 did you take her to the vets to get checked out? Is she ok?

PineappleExpress · 01/02/2018 13:02

Thank you everyone. She's only lost a little over 0.5 kg, but feels so bony and light. The vet said she seems fine and just gave her some tablets to help with acid in her stomach while she gets used to eating again

Just read the full thread !
YAY, so very glad she's home, and hold that you are feeling much better.
I may or may not, have a tear in my eye. 😅

Threetoedsloth · 01/02/2018 14:33

Oh (gulp sniff ) I am so delighted she's safely home, little treasure. We love them so.
