My beautiful cat is missing

Just that, really Sad

She's a house cat and just have got out without me noticing when I let the dogs out, normally not a problem, but I must not have seen her before I shut the door and now she's gone. I'm
Not even sure how long she's been out, and I feel awful.

I've had a wander round the streets, but it got too dark and meant the house was shut up, anyway. I'm now sitting with the back door open and the kitchen light on.

Please tell me she'll be ok and come back, even if you don't believe it Sad

There is a South Wales lost and found Facebook page, I'm on it, it's really busy, might be worth trying.

What a beautiful cat. Hope he comes home soon. What a stress for you. My house cat went missing once, which luckily turned out to be for just 24 hours. I felt completely frazzled during that time and found it very hard to focus at work. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

PineappleExpress · 22/01/2018 22:22

Thanks for asking, @DancesWithOtters. I'm not doing great, tbh. Taking a mental health week at work because I've been in a pretty bad place anyway and this is really close to pushing me over the edge.
The food I put out the other day has been eaten, so trying to stay positive and think that it's her and not just a greedy neighbour cat.

That ginger and white one isn't mine, @Els1e. That was a handsome tom who was helping me look for mine. This is my beaut

Oh he is absolutely gorgeous. I love the colouring. Sorry I didn’t read your post properly

BulletFox · 22/01/2018 22:49

Sorry Pineapple. Really sending 'come home cat' vibes your way.

Hope you can relax and regroup on your time off x

Want2beme · 22/01/2018 23:09

Hope he's back very soon Flowers

StewPots · 22/01/2018 23:18

So sorry to read this OP. It's an awful feeling. I hope she returns to you soon Thanks

SandunesAndRainclouds · 23/01/2018 10:30

Hi OP,

My gorgeous boy was missing for 5 weeks. I finally found him through social media so keep posting, reposting and sharing.

Also, try not to think where he could be. My boy was in the least likely place and I hadn’t looked there because I didn’t think he’d ever cross a busy dual carriageway. Well he did!

Good luck. I know how this feels (including setting off anxiety etc) and it is dreadful Flowers

MrsHathaway · 23/01/2018 10:59

Very best wishes, Pineapple. Hope she turns up today with her nose in the air.

thecatneuterer · 23/01/2018 11:07

Good luck OP. I'm just want to check that she's spayed? Not that it would help you find her if she isn't but it would at least explain the disappearance.

PineappleExpress · 23/01/2018 16:40

Thanks @SandunesAndRainclouds. I will keep reposting. What an awful 5 week's that must have been.
Yes, thankfully, she is spayed, @thecatneuterer. Last thing I need is her coming home growing some babies!
Thanks for all the kind words, you lovely lot

Ah she's so pretty. Have everything crossed for you OP.

Incrediblehulky · 24/01/2018 18:13

Oh PineappleExpress I'm so sorry you are going through this. Your girl looks like a real beauty and you must be missing her terribly. Try not to give up hope, I think cats can get disoriented quickly and are often very close by and frequently they do find their way home or are found.

I know how you feel, it is so stressful and I hope another good ending story will help keep your hopes up. My 10 year old boy went missing for a while a few years back (he's died now 😭) and it was the most stressful time, I was heavily pregnant with my 3rd child at the time and it was awful, parading the streets in the early hours , printing 100's of posters and tying them to posts, delivering leaflets, climbing over walls and fences with a torch - I couldn't bear the anxiety of not knowing where he was and whether he was ok and it was absolutely exhausting. He'd never been out the garden before so I was so worried about his ability to survive as it was winter. Anyway, a chap had seen the leaflet I had posted through his door and then seen my cat in his garden and rang me! He wasn't there when I got there but he was in a neighbouring garden completely disorientated and deyhdrated but otherwise he was ok - and it was only a few houses away, just on the opposite side of the road. God knows why he decided to go over the garden wall that day and how he got there and couldn't manage to find his way home - he might of eventually though! I had given up hope and looked EVERWHERE and in the end he was so close-by!

So there is hope...and you are doing everything you can and I do understand why you feel so awful. I'm glad you've got a break from work, you need it to look after yourself at such a difficult time. I will be thinking of you and your girl and am hoping she finds her way back to you soon (or indeed somone spots her somehow). Very best wishes and good luck, hope for her return is not lost at all....x

BulletFox · 27/01/2018 22:08

Any update, Pineapple?

PineappleExpress · 28/01/2018 02:04

She's home!!

She got back about an hour ago and seems very happy to be back. She's very skinny and has had loads to eat and drink, so I think she must have been shut in somewhere and just managed to get out today and cleverly made her way home.
Should I take the food off her now she's had some? She's a bit of a greedy cat, and I don't want her to eat too much and be sick!

I think I've aged about 10 years in this last week. Thank you for all your advice, kind words and stories that gave me hope in one of the worst weeks of my life ❤️

Oh op I only just seen your thread and skipped to the end hoping for good news ( how gorgeous is the ginger boy )

So happy you've got your baby girl home. Spoil her loads and tell her she's naughty Grin

Really pleased for you. This has happened to me and it's a horrible feeling.

My ginger boy did it to me several times over the years.
He passed away last year aged 18 and now we feed a lovely little ginger family of strays.

SandunesAndRainclouds · 28/01/2018 07:48

Amazing!!

Little and often, just a couple of teaspoons every half hour or so today. So pleased for you.
