Just that really, noticed today he's not right and is now feeling very sorry for himself.
He's got plenty water Andover increased his wet food to get his water up. He's been sick so changing to little and often food.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime?
He is currently under the bed. Poor soul.

That reads terribly! My phone is awful.
They hadn’t received the email from the vet and what info they had was not enough to overturn the decision.
Then once they had the email it still was not enough hence the vet having to ring on Monday.
In the meantime I can not afford the big op whilst they are faffing about with my claim isn’t the gist of the rest, sorry!

I hope he recovers o.k so that he doesnt need the big OP.
If he does and the insurance wont pay, then you could ask the vets if you could come to some arrangement where you paid monthly. Or ask them in light of whats happened with the insurance would they do it at a reduced cost.
Other alternatives would be to set up a Go fund me and ask everyone you know to share.

Hi thought I'd post an update as you've all been so kind.
Dcat is doing good touch wood he's been home 2 weeks!
The insurance after a call from my vet has decided to pay!!! I'm so happy and relieved.

Excellent news on both counts!

Want2beme · 17/02/2018 13:44

That's great to hear. Bet you're very relieved.

Rudgie47 · 17/02/2018 17:40

I'm really pleased, I've kept checking to see how he is getting along.
I hope he continues to stay well.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/02/2018 18:24

Oh wonderful news. I've been scared to ask!

Hecksonaplane · 17/02/2018 20:45

Thank you. I was too scared to ask ha I've waited all week to ring and check but my renewal is due so I had to bite the bullet!!
Cat is great but being very parky with his food but we'll get there.
I am so relieved I actually feel lighter.

So glad to hear the news Hecks. Most people i’ve spoke to who have had this issue with their cats and from my own experience once you’ve got a few weeks clear it tends to go up from there! Fingers crossed. Well done you for staying strong and sticking by him through this Gin

Hecksonaplane · 20/02/2018 19:56

Thank you, I do hope this is it and no more.
My insurance will rocket next year for them to recoup this, buggers!!

He's worth it, he been more lovely than usual I'm sure he's grateful either that or he heard the discussion on the next steps lol

I don’t know who you are with but our insurance has only gone up by about a couple of pounds a month each year despite a lot of claims. I expected it to rocket but I was pleasantly surprised!

Hecksonaplane · 21/02/2018 21:12

That's good to hear, it's gone up slightly and they said it would be more next year that would be affected.
Cat just been in his tray and there's lots of blood in his urine Sad he seems fine otherwise so vets have said keep an eye given plenty water and hope it's a one off. If he starts to strain or seems unwell or it continues he'll need medication.
He was doing so well too.

Oh no, poor little chap, I really hope it's a one off. Please let us know how he is.

I dread that Petplan will decide to stop insuring my expensive little beastie! So far we've claimed for a fractured jaw, bone infection, kidneys, leg and we'll be claiming for his heart soon. I think his tail is the only bit that's not affected!

Hecksonaplane · 22/02/2018 12:45

Ah Pink your poor cat sounds like he has been through the mill but at least you are getting your monies worth with the insurance!

Dcat seems fine a couple of wees since last night look normal so strange but happy with that. Long may it continue but heck it’s draining haha
