My beautiful baby girl (nearly 3) has been missing since Sunday evening (so that's 4 nights she's been gone for now) and we have not seen her since. The longest she has ever been gone for was about a day and a half.

DH and I are so worried about her. On Tuesday evening we posted flyers through the letterboxes of the surrounding streets (about 100) and stuck them to lampposts. Have informed local vets and shared on social media (my page and local pages). Called the council to check if they have cleared any cats from the road since Sunday evening but they haven't (which gives me hope). But we have not had any response at all.

I just have no idea what to do from here, we are devastated and cant even think about Christmas now. We are calling her and looking for her regularly but no joy. I'm especially worried because its cold out there. I'm so hoping she is shut in somewhere and she gets let out soon, or has gone off for a long walk. She is such a nosey/curious/friendly little thing, so maybe she is staying at someone else's house.

Sorry for the ramble, just wanted to get everything off my chest. I think we've pretty much done everything we can for now (tempted to distribute flyers further afield, but how much further?? You could go on forever). Just miss her so much and want her home for Christmas :-( Can't stand the thought of her being trapped somewhere and being cold/starving/dehydrated Sad

@DancesWithOtters shes 3 on the 30th of this month Smile the day before my birthday in fact! That's pretty much how i reacted when the lady sent the photo of her yesterday! My poor husband, i rang him crying saying someone's found Polly & he thought someone had found her body! Poor sod Blush think I might have a celebratory glass (bottle) of wine!

So touched that so many people have been following this thread and hoping for her safe return! I went upstairs earlier and she was asleep on the bed, ended up getting in the bed and having a long snuggle with her! Still havent had dinner Blush oh well!

@Weedsnseeds1 haha yes, we knew about it! Had to pop to tesco anyway last night, it was absolute carnage in there with people stocking up with gallons of water! so we've been using that for the cats too.

@DancesWithOtters another Polly photo as requested! This was her earlier, the fluffy little fool Halo

Great news, I've been checking and hoping for a safe return! Naughty Polly Wink

iggleypiggly · 13/01/2018 13:14

I’ve been lurking. What excellent news! Welcome home Polly Flowers

@Weedsnseeds1 thank you. I dont think our street was actually affected so I've got loads of bottled water now! 😂

@DancesWithOtters oh god i know, theres been a few nights where its been frozen over! I wonder how she coped on NYE as well with all the fireworks...hopefully she was inside somewhere! I know what you mean about other cats, you dont always know if they're lost or not! We have one that keeps appearing at our back door (mentioned up thread) because my husband fed him some dreamies one day!

Christmas was a bit flat with her missing...might just have to have another one to make up for it 😂

Welcome home Polly.

I had one go missing for 6 weeks ish...thought he would never come back

ToadOfSadness · 14/01/2018 16:07

This is the best news I have seen this year, so far.

Just a thought, sometimes people 'borrow' cats and take them home only to find they leg it if they get out. It happened to Mr. Cheeky in Brighton last year, unfortunately when he escaped from the house he was imprisoned in he was run over.

Perhaps someone took a fancy to Polly and thought she would make a nice gift for someone, or maybe were unable to adopt a cat for some reason.

NeopolitanChocolates · 14/01/2018 19:39

I'm so pleased she's returned, made my day Smile
