Our cat has been missing for 4 days :(

My beautiful baby girl (nearly 3) has been missing since Sunday evening (so that's 4 nights she's been gone for now) and we have not seen her since. The longest she has ever been gone for was about a day and a half.

DH and I are so worried about her. On Tuesday evening we posted flyers through the letterboxes of the surrounding streets (about 100) and stuck them to lampposts. Have informed local vets and shared on social media (my page and local pages). Called the council to check if they have cleared any cats from the road since Sunday evening but they haven't (which gives me hope). But we have not had any response at all.

I just have no idea what to do from here, we are devastated and cant even think about Christmas now. We are calling her and looking for her regularly but no joy. I'm especially worried because its cold out there. I'm so hoping she is shut in somewhere and she gets let out soon, or has gone off for a long walk. She is such a nosey/curious/friendly little thing, so maybe she is staying at someone else's house.

Sorry for the ramble, just wanted to get everything off my chest. I think we've pretty much done everything we can for now (tempted to distribute flyers further afield, but how much further?? You could go on forever). Just miss her so much and want her home for Christmas :-( Can't stand the thought of her being trapped somewhere and being cold/starving/dehydrated Sad

😁😁😁😁so happy for you! Yay! Brilliant news. All the best and I'm so glad she's home!

maddnessintheroost · 11/01/2018 14:59

I feel for you. My baby disappeared for two months over the summer. Lots of people said they saw her about and she suddenly started coming back once a week but wouldn't eat here. I found out on NYE that a neighbour's children had started feeding her and she decided to stay there (she never liked our baby). I was really upset as this had started in the summer and if they hadn't fed her she might have stayed. She has also now had a nasty accident and her jaw has been broken (thanks neighbour for the graphic detail) never had a problem in the entire 7 years I had her.

scaryteacher · 11/01/2018 15:25

So glad she is home. Have been lurking with crossed fingers for you.

smashbake · 11/01/2018 15:37

Ha! So wonderful! I'm so thrilled for you! You'll spend every day now looking at her with wonder! I know I do with my lovely cat! So thrilled for you.

Rudgie47 · 11/01/2018 15:49

Dont let her out for a while though, keep her in even if she moans to go out.

Botanicbaby · 11/01/2018 16:45

this is brilliant news OP really happy for you and of course Polly!

it is the worst feeling in the world when your cat goes missing but it is also the best in the world when you are reunited with them. I expect she will sleep loads (more than usual for a cat) Grin

BulletFox · 11/01/2018 16:51

Agree with Rudgie, keep her in for a bit

NorbertTheDragon · 11/01/2018 17:10

So pleased she's home. Smile

smashbake · 11/01/2018 17:13

Oh and worm her!

rainbowcakes · 11/01/2018 19:11

Thank you so much everyone! Shes currently conked out next to me on the sofa. Its like shes never been away!!!

Just popped over to the lady's house who found her...2 miles away!! They'd seen her last night in the street but didnt make the connection until this morning when she wandered into their house! Her teenage daughter said that her friend in the house opposite had sent her a picture of her as she was trying to get into her bedroom window! As nosey as ever!!

@Weedsnseeds1 thank you so much again for going out looking for her a couple of weeks ago!! Smile
