Our cat has been missing for 4 days :(

My beautiful baby girl (nearly 3) has been missing since Sunday evening (so that's 4 nights she's been gone for now) and we have not seen her since. The longest she has ever been gone for was about a day and a half.

DH and I are so worried about her. On Tuesday evening we posted flyers through the letterboxes of the surrounding streets (about 100) and stuck them to lampposts. Have informed local vets and shared on social media (my page and local pages). Called the council to check if they have cleared any cats from the road since Sunday evening but they haven't (which gives me hope). But we have not had any response at all.

I just have no idea what to do from here, we are devastated and cant even think about Christmas now. We are calling her and looking for her regularly but no joy. I'm especially worried because its cold out there. I'm so hoping she is shut in somewhere and she gets let out soon, or has gone off for a long walk. She is such a nosey/curious/friendly little thing, so maybe she is staying at someone else's house.

Sorry for the ramble, just wanted to get everything off my chest. I think we've pretty much done everything we can for now (tempted to distribute flyers further afield, but how much further?? You could go on forever). Just miss her so much and want her home for Christmas :-( Can't stand the thought of her being trapped somewhere and being cold/starving/dehydrated Sad

She literally just came back home. Oh my god. I cried with relief. I really really hope yours turns up for Christmas OP xx

I'll put the pictures on my FB for you. I'm a little bit further down the area than you, but do have friends in Clevedon. Will also ask OH to send a group email at work as his office is nearby and the employees are mainly mobile workers in the area, so can keep an eye out while out and about.

I cant work out how to reply to an individual post on the app, apologies Blush but thank you so much for your lovely messages and for sharing pictures of her.

Its been a week now....still don't know anything at all. Still going out calling regularly. Trying to keep busy today preparing for Christmas & will try to enjoy the next couple of days - at least its a bit of a distraction from it all Wine

I really wish you luck!

On a side note, my beautiful girl went missing for 4 months before just turning up one day again!

Thank you so much!

@DancesWithOtters have been out today checking all the trees nearby but couldnt spot her anywhere Sad I still had about 100 flyers so I distributed them in a street that is a 2 minute walk away. Didn't realise how many houses there are around here, I didn't have enough to do all of them! I don't really know where to draw the line though, as you could just go on forever.

God it would be the best Christmas present EVER if she rocked up today or tomorrow! Xmas Smile

Have an update of sorts - my husband took a call from a lady yesterday who is fairly confident she saw Polly come out of a garage on her road on Friday, which is just round the corner from us. I posted a flyer through her door on Xmas eve so it must've jogged her memory.

We rushed round there to look for her, but no joy as it was 3 days ago that she (potentially) saw her so she could be anywhere by now Sad but it gave me a bit of hope. Will go out looking again today...this is day 9 now.

Perhaps she had been shut in? She might go on a good search before coming home? Fingers crossed.

DottyS · 26/12/2017 09:05

Thinking of you - fingers crossed the wee soul turns up

rainbowcakes · 26/12/2017 09:16

Thank you! I didnt have enough flyers to post through all the doors in that area at the weekend, but when i go back to work on Thursday ill print off more & post them through the doors/put more posters up round there Smile

That sounds promising! I really hope you get your girl back soon.
Could you move a few of the fliers from non- sighting areas in the mean time?

timtam23 · 26/12/2017 10:18

Fingers crossed Polly comes home very soon

@DancesWithOtters thats what i thought, that she might be a bit disoriented if shes been shut in a garage! Went out yesterday morning, yesterday evening and this morning calling - no sign of her but will still keep going.

Its such a maze around here - theres so many alleyways leading to other streets! She could literally be anywhere Confused

Sorry if this has been asked already, Have you chipped her?

rainbowcakes · 26/12/2017 12:39

@Tstar27 yes she is chipped Smile

OP posts:
Weedsnseeds1 · 26/12/2017 13:15

You did remember to update the chip details when you moved? Although you said you were at in laws before, so that address should be OK, even if you forgot.

rainbowcakes · 26/12/2017 15:10

@Weedsnseeds1 yes her micro chip is updated Smile i changed it when i reported her missing but my phone number hasnt changed so should be able to contact me if she gets picked up.

My husband doesnt think its worth me going out calling as its unlikely she'll come and we have no idea which area she's gone to...but I don't feel like I can just do nothing, just in case. Its a horrible feeling Sad

Don't give up, sending lots of good vibes and I have a story.

A cat turned up around here a few months ago. It looked familiar but we hadn't seen it in ages, thought it may have lived down the road but they had moved out.

I managed to catch it and take it to the vets. Chip details of address were still our road, the phone numbers on the chip were no longer active. BUT the vets sent an email which got a reply. Cat had been missing about 6 months from where they moved to 3 miles away. It was brilliant.

Good luck and fingers crossed.

No don't give up, especially as you have had what seems like a credible sighting!
If you want some help later in the week, let me know. No need to give me your address or anything, or even meet up, just PM me the name of the road where she was spotted and I can work off some Christmas food for a couple of hours walking round looking.
