I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

Brilliant re Catsan trick, that's always to hand, thanks.

I know, it was a relief to be able to hammer them closed but the water was 2 in deep in hall by the time I started idly wondering what the noise was Grin

I'm on those yellow stickers like a leopard eyeing a gazelle, don't you worry about that. Grin

I was thinking of me Lana , you look after your own reductions. I see you are in London, so we aren't competing for limited resources ( although you are from round these parts, nobody says lush or eats clotted cream otherwise.....) Grin

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2017 21:16

There's a new M and S foodhall thingy opened on the local industrial estate, I may have to check it out tomorrow ...

Lanaorana2 · 27/12/2017 22:41

Go! I live next to one (not on an industrial estate). The best bits are fish, flowers, cakes and the deli bits.

Dine in for a tenner is legendary; you get a massive chicken, tiny baby minty potatoes, choc mousse and a bottle of chenin blanc.

I keep the wine for festivities and me and Mr C have the chicken, does 6 meals. Trick to saving the £ is only buying the deal and nipping to tesco for yer packet salad etc.

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2017 23:35

Ours is right next to an Aldi, could be the perfect combination!
My boy will eat chicken still warm from the oven, but once it's been in the fridge it's despised, even if brought to room temperature Hmm

Lanaorana2 · 28/12/2017 09:52

and I thought Mr C was a little bit pampered...:) are you using a human plate? I do.

That's the retail dream team, you have been gifted, as trustafarians say. There is only one Aldi in London - in Tooting - I make a special trip for the Spinster Sauce ie the own brand gin. Yumza.

Cozie - how is PB?

OP posts:
Weedsnseeds1 · 28/12/2017 10:10

He gets his own special treat bowl. One of those sauce dishes from a Chinese dinner set?
Only one Aldi? There used to be one on the Old Kent Road many moons ago. Come to think of it I can only recall Lidls in recent years!
Any sign of your glamping Siamese?

Lanaorana2 · 28/12/2017 10:15

Yes, he screams daily for the caretaker, howls shattering the festive peace. He doesn't want me, serve me right for thinking I was good with cats.

Have got him some Royal Canin 'from a friend'. His house is a fiasco - 123 pieces, the caretaker yelled 'take your time' and ran off laffing hollowly, the cackle echoing off the corridors.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 28/12/2017 12:40

It's when you get down to the last piece and realise that you haven't got enough of the right types of screw/ the part doesn't fit properly/ there is some problem or other that might necessitate a complete restart. This is a moment for Planning! (Gin) Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/12/2017 13:35

Have you complained? How on earth can any of us be expected to put that together?.

Lanaorana2 · 28/12/2017 13:59

I'm in denial.

I may have googled 'ready made cat kennel'.

cozietoesie · 28/12/2017 14:27

Have you PLANNED yet? (I'm not saying that Gin is enormously helpful but it does at least mean that you can..........put the issue in perspective. Grin

The true secret of success, C. I hadn't but I might nip out for supplies :)

Sounds like a YouTube job to me, it's amazing what tutorials are on there!

cozietoesie · 28/12/2017 18:52

You need a YouTube tutorial for Gin?

Sic transit gloria mundi! Grin

Lanaorana2 · 28/12/2017 19:46

Sic of DIY.

Mr C is definitely trying it on ie pleasing recovery sign. He's just nearly hurled me into the oven face first - sausage and chipolata and stuffing 'wreath' slashed from 12 to 2 quid at M&S. Serves 8, not likely.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 28/12/2017 20:28

'Kerboom' from Club Tropicana.

cozietoesie · 28/12/2017 20:35

It was the 'vase' of silk lilies. He was apparently in hot pursuit, judging by the brown toy mouse lying in the devastation.

Lanaorana2 · 28/12/2017 20:44

Oh tsk - can you stretch them back into shape? Steam the petals a bit and wangle the stems.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 28/12/2017 21:11

They're just fine. Even the 'vase' is hardly dented - if at all. (I was more worried about PB.)

Ollivander84 · 28/12/2017 22:30

I'm having to type with one hand as my other one has claws in my wrist every time I move Hmm

Olli has taken umbrage against his tech love rival, evidently.

Watch out for a furry arm, the keys will be next.

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 28/12/2017 22:41

He does it so politely Grin
I try to raise my hand slightly and get an injured look of "no mama" and one claw slightly extended

cozietoesie · 28/12/2017 22:44

It's called 'under the paw', Ollivander. Smile

Ollivander84 · 28/12/2017 23:19

He's slunk off in horror as my neighbour is now in my house. Long, long story
