I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

He's too full. (Xmas scraps?)

Weedsnseeds1 · 26/12/2017 23:17

He's full of bloody Lik-e-liks. Not so full he can't pounce like greased lightning, though.

cozietoesie · 27/12/2017 00:03

Ah.

Kibobear · 27/12/2017 06:44

Great photo kibobear he looks like he's had one too manyince pies and glasses of champagne and is now regretting it!

Kibobear · 27/12/2017 10:53

I know Grin it's a feeling I am very familiar with myself

cozietoesie · 27/12/2017 11:00

Oh Wow. Go Hermione. Grin

Lanaorana2 · 27/12/2017 11:08

Mr C's just been sick ham on my Xmas present, the novelty title 'Crafting with Cat Hair'.

Hermione's portrait is a feminist statement of freedom.

How goes it today? We've been flooded in sunny London. Self and pet on sofa with oven on, door open. NB in burly arms of caretaker, I hope, couldn't find him earlier.

is PB resting after the festivities?

cozietoesie · 27/12/2017 14:14

PB is playing with a brown mouse. (Toy)

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2017 14:22

Toy? How lucky you areGrin

Lanaorana2 · 27/12/2017 14:31

Is the, er, Main Present still with us in the land of the living?

OP posts:
Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2017 15:21

Nope, it's deceased ( see above)

Ollivander84 · 27/12/2017 16:25

I am a mean human for going to work. He's clinging on to me Hmm

Oh I thought that was a catnip ball. Sorry Mr Mouse, RIP.

Enjoying reduced chipolatas with Mr C. Am hoping M&S will reduce their 'trimmings' boxes which are 110 pieces of stuffing balls, pigs in blankets, tiny chestnuts ie all the best Xmas food. So is Mr C.

We had leftovers again. I was in seven minds about whether to heat up the (glorious) cold Brussels and the bread sauce but eventually decided so to do.

PB is being very bold this evening. The house is toasty warm which he likes very much.

How is the flooding, Lana? Sad

Lanaorana2 · 27/12/2017 20:12

He's bold because he's happy!

The flooding is lessening, I am thrilled to report, although pair 5 of socks is still blimmin' damp, you know how dispiriting wet feet are. Mr C got into bed last night with wet paws and made his displeasure clear. Xmas miracle: my neighbour downstairs is away for the first time in years, she would have hit the (soggy) ceiling.

I'm making banana cakes to keep the oven on at a constant low and rather sugary-scented heat :) Mr C has not moved all day except to eat M&S luxe cat food in industrial quantities. He loves being cosy and being pampered like this.

Dregs of the wine chilling nicely in the fridge which has not, contrary to all sane expectation, fused and died. Yay.

Are you doing movie and a liedown with PB? He might go for it when he is resting from his game.

He's being bold but not - in his lights - foolhardy. Grin

cozietoesie · 27/12/2017 20:15

PS - any chance of you renting or borrowing a dehumidifier?

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/12/2017 20:16

Flipping heck Lana, did something burst?.

Lanaorana2 · 27/12/2017 20:36

No the bloody taps burst in the kitchen, prob thanks to the rain, and thanks to the drains in the building being blocked with this relentless rain, the water went all over the flat instead of down the sink.

My language was not that of a spinster known for her charity work. Grin

Making a wild boar ragout with the leftovers here ( late eaters and have been nibbling all day).
The M and S trimming thing sounds good, you didn't happen to notice the UB date, just as an indicator of potential mark downs did you?
Cat litter in a sock or similar is a good dehumidifier, especially the sort with the little crystal silica bits.

cozietoesie · 27/12/2017 20:48

At least you could stop once you realised the problem! GrinMy own 'floodings' have always been of the 'having to turn off the mains stopcock' variety. (And living in older buildings often means less overall damage - the effect of flooding on a chipboard floor doesn't bear thinking about.)
