I've got a Siamese cat. He was abandoned by his owner and is living in state - three nests made by neighbours - in our garden. He is absolutely beautiful, aged 11, and a white/cream colour, brown eyes I think. So far we have blinked at each other, me flat on face behind bush in garden.

The lady who feeds him is going away for 6 weeks. She is in a royal state of anxiety so I stepped in. Have been trained to do the feeding, leg massage, etc.

His history is shameful. He has been coming to us for food for ages, finally taken to Battersea, where his so-called owner collected him in 90 minutes. Then left him to starve. So you see I can't not.

Any words of wisdom? I need them.

Thank you both so much for being so brilliant. Yes, F calmed me right down. Nerves-wise, it was the fit that really did it. Lying on back eyes rolling back, shuddering violently all over. He's still jerking every now and then but not as bad as it was.

I've hyperchondria-googled and there is a thing called feline motor epilepsy or something that has marked similarities but is harmless. Phew.

Ham awaits. Dithering about the wifebeater in a saucer, might leave it to Boxing Day.

How is NB? Has he put on a string vest and started shadow-boxing at Dbro's chair yet?

PB is currently beating up one of his brown mice. (The white ones are being ignored.) He's eaten most of his lunch. ( Country Hunter which was set out at his feeding station in the Siberian Waste.) Go figure. Hmm

Lanaorana2 · 24/12/2017 15:15

Healthy to release his natural vigour and manliness. :)

He is clearly much, much cheerier recently. He's a different kitty to the one who arrived, what a transformation in such a short time.

Me neither.

Yet. Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/12/2017 15:26

That would have frightened me too L, you feel so helpless when their ill.

Alcohols a neurotoxin isn't it?.

cozietoesie · 24/12/2017 15:54

Make that all of his lunch. Wink

cozietoesie · 24/12/2017 15:55

Probably. Smile

Weedsnseeds1 · 24/12/2017 16:51

If he hadn't been eating, electrolyte imbalance can cause fitting type symptoms ( in people anyway, I assume similar for other animals), so could be a one off due to that.
Does his medication, if he's on any, state whether alcohol should be avoided? Grin

Lanaorana2 · 24/12/2017 18:02

Weeds how interesting, I bet that's what it was. Mr C sends a fat purr, he's on me now.

We are both on thyroid meds. No worries re drinking, Hic!

Hope everyone's enjoying their refreshing festive neurotoxins by now. Grin

Sadly, many years ago, a friend's housemate had a cat who was ......a tippler. At parties, if drinks were put on the floor, she'd go round and help herself - by the end, she was usually quite stotious. Gawd knows what her liver was like, let alone her neurons.

We were young. We laughed. Sad

Lanaorana2 · 24/12/2017 20:47

Hen! Stotious is a word not heard by me since my uni days at a well known golf course. Heard faintly while I was being assisted from the student union, mostly.

I'm not one to talk, tho, Mr C is an utter gadgee. He is laldy for this cava. Bad luck eh I am the chookhter to end all chookhters.

He does look a tad subdued.

cozietoesie · 24/12/2017 23:38

As I suspected, I am in drink (A fine Glenlivet) and PB Is on the bed with eyes closed, dozing. If there's a moral there..........

cozietoesie · 24/12/2017 23:52

Curled up and gone to sleep. Shock

Ollivander84 · 25/12/2017 00:26

Asleep? Keep drinking Grin

cozietoesie · 25/12/2017 00:32

As I said........ if there be a moral there.......

Ollivander84 · 25/12/2017 00:52

Grin well. There could be much worse things you have to do

cozietoesie · 25/12/2017 01:07

Happy Christmas Everyone!.

I have a new dressing gown, asbo has been told 3 times the belt is not a toy. It's animal print so I was eyed suspiciously. I think he's wondering if it's a previous pet.

Lanaorana2 · 25/12/2017 11:10

I hope you hinted it was Xmas Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/12/2017 13:26

I didn't have the heart to.

cozietoesie · 25/12/2017 13:48

He'll spray on it. Wink
