Help. My cat had pooped in my bedroom and I can’t find it.

Ok my cat has done a horrible smelling shit and I can’t find it.

It’s definitely in the bedroom, I’ve looked everywhere. Except obviously I haven’t.

Where might a cat do a “secret poo?”

I’ve checked on my shelves, under the bed, in the pile of fresh washing, in the cupboard. NOTHING.

I’ve tried following the scent 😷 but it’s nowhere to be seen. Please help me before I have to check in to a hotel or sell up!!!

Once DH smelled cat piss in our house but didn't know where it was. He went around smelling everything and started throwing out things he thought the cat had pissed on like cushions, blanket, etc. He was about to throw out the toaster when he realised the piss was in fact on the pants he was wearing!

So maybe check your clothes?

Mine have (so far) not done a poo in an inappropriate place, but Boycat tends to throw up either exactly where I'm going to step in it or somewhere hidden. Moved the sofa a little the other day to find dessicated vomit there, found some on a windowsill in the junk room 3rd bedroom, and some behind the TV on the cables.

DH has suggested it's on your shoe?

Check the top of the curtains and pull the mattress of the bed in case it’s wedged between the mattress and the headboard... cats are bastards I do love mine though! Not going to lie I loved her a little less when she pooped on the bedsheets at 2 in the morning one night as a kitten

My room smelt of poo for weeks, then i found the cat had had diarrhoea all over my shoes in the shoe box. I hadn't seen it at first as it was dark in there.
She is 16 and obviously thought it looked like the litter tray.

Cat sat for a friend once, followed instructions to the letter. Went in tbe kitchen and it STANK. Searched high, low and inbetween - inch by inch. Eventually found it - down the gaps where the rings attached in an old style electric cooker.

Thankfully it was a case of just pulling the undertray out, which was covered in tin foil...hate to think if I had't had found it, they got home and put the rings on to cook tea.

Any update OP? I’ve been checking back to this thread on and off all day in the hope of discovering where your cat shat.

Haha sorry folks, no nothing, I can’t find the thing and now the smell has gone so I’ve got no hope!!!

Perhaps the cat went back to clean up when you weren’t looking.

I shared a house with a cat once that would vomit at least once a day then eat it ... I hope that's not what @MollyHuaCha is putting in everyone's minds right now 😂

Sorry, maybe I was thinking of hamsters.

Could have been vomit that the cat then ate... my cat did a super nasty vomit a few months ago that stank like shit.

@Kitee I'm sorry I'm so fuckin dense and old late with this but as I piggy-snorted so much that I woke my 3yo DS (from downstairs!) AND set next door's Baskevillian hound barking, I have to beg of you, please, where was the cat shit - if you ever found it...?
