Realised I filled up the last thread with inanity!

Come one, come all, what's your cat up to today?

Mine are pleased that I'm home in time for the end of Pointless. Unfortunately they hate Pointless and would rather sit outside in the rain glowering in at me.

@AtSea1979 my 7 month old Biscuit is the same. Also a panther and a bit bitey.

Spoke to my vet about that, his separation yowling and his nervous pooing (sorry!), and she put him on zylkene for anxiety.

It’s improving, slowly. He’s more keen on attention. (Occasionally if he hurts me now I give a short hiss. It works, and seems not to have damaged our relationship!)

IrritatedUser1960 · 05/11/2017 13:38

My two are stretched out motionless on the fluffy rug in front of the woodburner. They appear to be in a coma paws and belly up Smile

BulletFox · 05/11/2017 17:49

She's curled up leaning on me, fireworks outside, not able to move

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/11/2017 18:06

I would love a woodburner, the cat would love it too.

caoraich · 05/11/2017 18:46

I too would love a woodburner

I wonder if "the cats would like it" would be enough to convince DP? (he did after all build them their elaborate catio/palace and has been collecting bits of wood "for a rope bridge" for in there...)

Mr C's been on-heated-throw all day. Just had to flick it back on, it turns itself off after 3 hours. Firework bonkers round here since Fri night.

So sorry to hear of your awful loss Each. Sending you purry vibes.

ToothTrauma · 05/11/2017 19:09

Girlkitten has been mostly ignoring the fireworks (pic). Boykitten has spent today helping DH do some flatpack by hiding in the packaging and leaping out at the dog!

My poor elderly kitty became absolutely hysterical about the fireworks earlier, he had diarrhoea with fright all over the rug and because he is longhaired I had to give him a bath.
He is now hiding on the stairs in terror (and wet) and refuses to be comforted.
I am bloody sick of the two weeks of fireworks every sodding year.

DavetheCat2001 · 05/11/2017 19:17

Rosie-plops currently not being too bothered by the sound of downtown Beirut fireworks outside.

DavetheCat2001 · 05/11/2017 19:21

Sorry to hear that Irritated..my old cat used to shake with terror around this time of year. So upsetting as you can't do anything Sad. Rosie seems completely unfazed which I am really pleased about.

Have you tried that plug in thing that is meant to help cats relax? Fellaway or something??

Ollivander84 · 05/11/2017 19:25

Playing with ribbon HmmGrin

One of our furry friends is currently hiding down the side of the freezer in a tiny space - the fireworks are scaring him, poor boy.
The other one is nowhere to be seen, so probably in the garden and hopefully not too scared. Think most of the fireworks are over now - the big displays were last night and now it's just people having a few in gardens.

TheCatOfAthenry · 05/11/2017 19:49

Biscuit is 7 months and 5 kilos already!

Since he’s been on the Zylkene he’s beginning to enjoy my lap!

Thanks henry I tried hissing, he's now sulking and refusing to sit with me. He'll change his mind when it's supper time. I might try zylkene (I'll google now)!
Biscuit is lovely 😍

Lanaorana2 · 05/11/2017 20:35

Irritated that is tough for both of you. Should be over by tomorrow. I'm heartily sick of it, and I see the best ones in London free from my bed.

Ribbonface....a sight for sore eyes.

Ollivander84 · 05/11/2017 20:48

He has had a strop now. I've had to open the blinds so he can watch the fireworks Confused

TheCatOfAthenry · 05/11/2017 20:54

Whoops, apologies for making your cat sulk. Blush

TheCatOfAthenry · 05/11/2017 21:51

I've have a lap cat (for the first time in ages) tonight! I would like to say he wanted comfort because of the fireworks but given that he spent most of the evening trying to get out of the locked cat flap to watch them I think he's probably just exhausted 😹

Ollie has just had a full pamper session. Brushed all over and then a quick dust off with some cat wet wipes HmmGrin

He absolutely adores it, purred like a steam train all the way through. I don't generally use the wipes unless he has dirty paws but the grooming threw up some dandruff so dusted him off afterwards

EachandEveryone · 06/11/2017 16:44

Mine are being nosey as usual. They have both loved the fireworks I have to say.

DP has been tormenting Freya with the mousies Hmm. She looked unimpressed but is apparently now asleep with them still in situ 😂

I wish mine had used that radiator bed I had to give it away in the end. Freya is lovely and slim compared to my fattie Daphne do you measur her food?

Ollivander84 · 06/11/2017 20:28

One very happy cuddle cat
