Cattery lost my cat

Has anyone experienced this before? Currently away on hols and just got an email to say one of my cats has escaped from the cattery (hole in the roof of the pen walkway). Gutted as I put them in there to keep them safe as our last kitten got run over when we had friends feeding them.

Our cat went missing in different circumstances - jumped in a delivery van. He was missing almost 2 weeks when we had a call from a lady 12 miles away who had seen our newspaper advert. Stay hopeful - Your cat may still return.
Perhaps leave a littler tray outside and jumpers that you've worn for a strong smell of home

How awful 😿 I hope you find your cat - we lost one of our cats as I moved To my dads house temporarily with him and my stupid step mum let him out, and my other cat. We get one cat back, he'd hidden in brambles close to where they lived - he was absolutely filthy and skinny when he returned ... bless him - we think the other cat found a new home, but it was nowhere near their actual home sonhad no markers to get themselves back to their old house (if that makes sense)

They're pretty good - leave a trail of your scent if you can by touching things and walking back in the direction of your home from this place the cat was sighted

Good luck

I'm beginning to feel the search is getting hopeless, the search area is so massive (rural with fields, villages, housing estates, main roads) and I'm beginning to lose hope now. Ffs

Put up posters with a picture in all the local - and even the not so local - supermarkets.

Our downstairs neighbours' (split house) oriental cat went missing a couple of weeks after we moved in (with our two Siamese). He was found six weeks later, 2.5 miles away (across 2 railway lines and 3 main roads) Shock - a few hundred metres from where we used to live Confused (I have visions of one of our cats telling him to "come and see where we used to live" and then abandoning him Grin).

They were contacted thanks to a poster in the furthest away supermarket (a bigger one - but 3 miles away with a decent sized one only a mile away).

So don't give up hope.

Thanks, yes I've registered with the lost pet services, also put up a poster at the nearest big supermarket plus pubs in the area, I may try more supermarkets, good idea.

I keep checking back at this thread hoping for good news. Feeling your pain - our cat escaped at the vet this summer. Still looking and also feeling pretty hopeless.

Ophelia, sorry to hear you've also lost your puss. It was strange, my husband woke me at half 6 this morning as he was leaving for work and had been looking out the garden and there by the shed, sauntering up the garden was a cat that looked just like ours. He opened the door to call but when it saw him move, it ran off. He said he could have sworn it was our cat as it was fairly close and he could see it fairly clearly. We've been out calling ever since but no sign.

Sounds hopeful. If it was your cat it's been a long time so it could be a little wary.
