Cat likes to sleep in my bed, dp doesn't want him there

Just wanted some opinions really ... my Siamese likes to sleep in my bed. He hates being shut downstairs but scratches the carpet if I shut the bedroom door. My bf stays over most nights (nearly always) and doesn't want the cat in bed with us.

It seems out of proportion to put the cat before my bf, I'm sure he thinks so anyway. But I feel sorry for my cat. He likes to always be with me. I have two other cats and he will curl up with them but they like to be out at night and tbh he'd prefer to be with me.

Wwyd?

I love cats but...it's a cat. Partner first. Can you make cat up a cosy blanket with lots of catnip on it outside the door? Sure she will object for a bit, but it's not life or death. She will get used to it

It's a Siamese. It sleeps with you. Smile

Cozie speaks true.
I have a tortie terror under the covers. She's resting her chin on my hand so I can't move. It's bliss!

For all you people telling this person to choose the cat over her partner, tell her also, when the lawn needs mowing, the car needs repairs, errands need to be run, dishes need to be washed, etc, call on the cat.

I have two beautiful cats that I rescued on the streets. I love them dearly, spoil them, and they have complete run of the house, except for our bed.

Also, when the cat passes, she would have probably lost a life long partner because of it. This "my way or the highway" sentiment that you guys are advising her with will be a great avenue to a quick divorce, should they ever marry.

If you Google it, the advice from a health perspective is not to let cats on the bed so I see your dp's point of view. My cat is half Siamese but a rescue so we didn't know that when we got her, worked it out after. She doesn't like being shut out either, but has a little house on the landing outside our door and sleeps there. A good thing, given that we're expecting an infant and she (the cat) absolutely would try to snuggle up on its face and suffocate it if she was in with us! She is ridiculously affectionate and just wants to be as close as physically possible all the time.
