Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

Well you know that he's definitely food motivated, if & when you want to teach him anything Grin

cozietoesie · 21/07/2017 15:02

Food obsessed more like. Grin (Maybe it has to do with his first house and the .....potential competition.

Have you actually seen him yet, or are you just making assumptions between food in bowl being eaten and Newboy having a full tummy?

cozietoesie · 21/07/2017 15:30

Oh No. I see him in passing. Smile He's very active in the evening.

I do hope that he settles soon for both your sakes and because we all want pictures

cozietoesie · 21/07/2017 15:56

Seniorboy took a month to even show his face when my mother died. (3 months to fully integrate.) I imagine that this will be a long haul also. He's eating (well) and traying though. Smile

A bonded Siamese is something else.

Especially when their favourite thing is gazing and blinking
Hmm < looks at pudding cat >

cozietoesie · 21/07/2017 20:00

I'm waiting for at least a show of some (muted if necessary) interest in the activity centre! Grin

I had somehow missed this thread, so I have been catching up and reading out bits to my DH, whilst reminiscing about my precious Willow , a lilac point Siamese whom I rescued at the age of 6. She'd been a breeding queen who was going to be PTS by her breeder because she'd run her course(SEETHES)
Willow went to live with two other Siamese through the rescue scheme and was reported not to settle, and was said to be unreliable with her litter training. Well I went to collect her and frankly I was far from surprised that she wasn't using the trays because I could smell the reek through the front door.
Anyhoo, she took one look at me and said "Mummy" Thank goodness I didn't know how it could have gone- I'd have had a nervous breakdown. I loved her with all my heart which damn near broke in two when I lost her at the age of 14. But what a joy she was to me, and how I love recalling that joy.
I am delighted that Newboy has come into your life. We're all willing you on, you will win him round. You are an Expert and all will be well.

cozietoesie · 21/07/2017 22:44

Not an 'expert' here but certainly prepared for a long haul. He's eating well and doing his duty in his trays so those are plus points. Smile

My friend adopted a cat. He's built her a sun shade which she uses. She sleeps on her own bed until he gets up. If she vomits she does it in her litter tray. I swear she's a fake cat Grin

cozietoesie · 21/07/2017 23:03

He's not used to sleeping in bed - which is a little odd for a Siamese but I guess was down to his first owner. It means that he tends to have a little roam in the early hours which I'm not used to. We'll both have to adjust, I guess.

Lanaorana2 · 21/07/2017 23:08

He'll be wedged in soon enough. :)

Kibobear · 21/07/2017 23:11

It sounds like he's settling so well. He's a lucky boy.
Can we have a picture of the activity centre so we can measure the extent of his distain? Wink

cozietoesie · 22/07/2017 14:48

I've noticed some paw prints in the plush of the various activity centre levels. I guess that that counts as .......muted interest? Smile

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 22/07/2017 14:55

In fact, I'm hearing various sounds from the sitting room - maybe the sisal bits are being attacked? Smile

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 22/07/2017 16:15

The 'various sounds' now seem to have been the thieving and disembowelling of a bag of Country Hunter treats. I guess he's now sleeping off all the meat. (But I'll have to keep an eye open for upchucking.)

He brought it all the way up from the kitchen as well. Grin

cozietoesie · 22/07/2017 16:17

Gawd help any mice in the house. (I'll have to wear slippers everywhere as well.)

Ollivander84 · 22/07/2017 16:25

Ooh you've got a wild one there Grin can't believe he carried them!

cozietoesie · 22/07/2017 16:26

It seems he realises that you'd best not thieve 'in situ'. Bright boy. Smile

Lanaorana2 · 22/07/2017 18:37

Gifted and talented!!!!

All beyond impressed in South London. Stealing is very relaxing for a kitty, too.

cozietoesie · 22/07/2017 18:41

Ha! He knows - or guesses - that we can't have that ......hard conversation yet while he's still settling. He's certainly very relaxed right now.

Practically comatose with all that meat even! Grin

OP posts:
Lanaorana2 · 22/07/2017 19:20

What exquisite news!!!! Rested, tummy full, you might even get a bit of a purr. Obv when you're not in earshot.

The trouble for me was that the whole boundaries thing gets a bit muddled when you are settling them in. Then by the time you think they are ok it's too late to start setting sensible, er, guidelines. I didn't know this. Mr C did. Grin

cozietoesie · 22/07/2017 19:37

All will hopefully be solved when he decides to sleep in bed. (The Great Disipline Enforcer.) At least he knows not to wake me for food - so I must be sending out vibes of some sort. Grin
