Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

Mine definitely know "supper time", "breakfast", "sweeties" (dreamies) and "stick" (Webbox Cat's Delight). Hmm, noticing a bit of a link there.... Wink

NoSquirrels · 15/07/2017 21:31

Yay - he likes looked at you accusingly and you responded properly like a good obedient human. Not long before he completes your training and decides you're worthy of promotion... Grin

Lanaorana2 · 15/07/2017 21:51

Well done C, it's for the best. Dbro will be allowed pet contact ie to be Newboy's slave, but at the little prince's time of choosing and not before. That is only right.

M I see what you mean :) I need you in my life for vital self-awareness :) . Actually it's stopped hurting now. It was that sodding M&S chicken roast, he knew it was in the fridge.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:21

I still can't find the treat ball.

He's under the bed right now. Smile

There seems to be a routine developing...

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:31

There does indeed - centred around food. Grin I can't be too doctrinaire at the moment though. (Poor lad's stress levels and adjustment.) I told him off this evening though. He minded me and wasn't upset. Smile

They can't half hold a grudge when they want to though. Ollie gave me the "one fang lip curl" earlier. That was for the eye drops Hmm

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:34

You're getting 'uppity' that's why. Grin

What a lovely thread.
My Dcat is an abandoned rescue -my DC say she landed on her feet and living the high life now.
She absolutely rules the roost- she is the most darling thing-and can clear a room with one look!!

Ollivander84 · 15/07/2017 22:37

Ideas above my slave station, I know Grin

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:38

The cat activity centre is being ignored - all that angst to no end. Sad

OP posts:
Ollivander84 · 15/07/2017 22:41

He has to ignore it! It's like cat law. Until you think about dismantling it then it will be his favourite thing ever

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 22:49

Ah.

Wolfiefan · 15/07/2017 22:53

Or he dismantles it for you!!

Oh this one is serious stuff. (You're talking Allen Keys! Grin)

My very large tree was ignored for a few weeks before Girlcat decided she liked the vantage point so she could look down over her realm in a regal manner. Took Boycat 6 months before he ventured up above floor level on it.

Wolfiefan · 16/07/2017 09:39

I'm sure a Siamese could manage it Cozie! Wink

Ollivander84 · 16/07/2017 11:13

Of course they could. Stablecat will visit and demonstrate Grin

Lanaorana2 · 16/07/2017 11:55

This is all superb progress. How was last night?

I told Mr C off yesterday - he was leaning on me with all 21 claws sunk in - and he ignored me. I am as proud of that as you are of Newboy's discipline skillz! it is brilliant Newboy can hear you setting boundaries and not freak out.

I can't be too harsh on Mr C thanks to his possibly abused kittenood, as we know. He pays attention when it matters, to be fair to him.

cozietoesie · 16/07/2017 13:21

I went downstairs in the early hours - after hearing some suspicious thuds - and found a rather bedraggled DaBird with its long handle completely wedged under the sofa in the downstairs sitting room. (I thought I had left it upstairs!) I may have moved in a secret mouser.Grin We'll see when he's given access to the basement. (Shut off from him at the moment.)

Seriously sweet! Hope you are watching telly In The Position this pm.

Allergictoironing · 16/07/2017 15:01

I've given up on investigating suspicious thuds, I just wait until morning to see what mayhem has ensued the previous night. Otherwise I'd be up every single night - they try to work out when I've just fallen asleep but not very deeply, so the noise of small hippos charging up & down the stairs causes me the maximum sleep disruption.

cozietoesie · 16/07/2017 15:13

I'm just not used to it. My personal boys have always come to bed and slept through. (Pax to occasional - and very fleeting - tray visits.) They seem to enjoy the love-fest so much.

I grew up with 3 Siamese . They were all very different characters although they were related ( mum and son and daughter) . My mum bred the mum with a stud boy and we had 8 kittens , she sold 6. The boy was actually really dappy . The girls were bright though and incredibly loyal to their person ! Is there a pic of new boy ?
