Currently in the middle of making arrangements to meet - he's a breed rescue - and yet to check over the house for 'breakability' issues etc. (He's only young - and it's a good few years since I had a cat that could potentially leap living with me.)

Yikes!!

Of course Wink
I have a very sulky cat after I tried to inspect his overgrooming. Back to the vets Hmm

cozietoesie · 14/07/2017 00:48

I'm just not used to a Siamese who doesn't come to bed and sleep through. I have to give it a lot longer for that, I reckon.

I can offer you a grumpy one? Currently sat with his back to me but I can feel the glaring from here
Yep, it'll come in time

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/07/2017 08:03

I can offer you a grumpy one

If you really gave him away you'd cause a stampede of Mumsnetters wanting to claim him that would outdo the rush to the boxing day sales ...

Ollivander84 · 14/07/2017 10:26

Yet Grin they would all be posting him back express delivery!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/07/2017 11:45

... you seem to think that you are the only one not immune to Those Eyes :)

Ollivander84 · 14/07/2017 11:51

He's off to the vets today Hmm one very expensive set of huge bog eyes!

cozietoesie · 14/07/2017 16:57

I had to get Newboy's meds yesterday afternoon. My cc is already packing its knapsack. (I'd forgotten how much cats can cost. Wink)

£47 today, I'm with you! That was for drops and injection

Lanaorana2 · 14/07/2017 18:11

Oh woe for the terrifying expense :)

But everything is looking really, really good. Of course Newboy would be exceptionally bright and beautiful you deserve nothing less.Bet he speaks English by the end of next week.

On Newsnight :)

cozietoesie · 14/07/2017 18:43

He's certainly very very beautiful. Smile That he's also very very bright, I can only surmise at the moment. Wink

No, he sounds super-smart.

It's Halycon days here - got 2 reduced chicken roasts in a tin from M&S for 60p each. Mr C making roary noises and pulverising the tin as I speak. He tripped me over getting it out of the oven but I forgave him, exceptional circs and all that. He's now shredded every scrap of aluminium and gone to bed. I shall be called in shortly for The Cuddle.

cozietoesie · 14/07/2017 22:39

I miss The Cuddle. All I have right now are slurping sounds from across the landing. He'll be the size of a house if he keeps this up!

cozietoesie · 14/07/2017 22:59

He's just sneaked into the room and is now under the bed. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/07/2017 23:04

Where did he sleep with his original owners?.

Ollivander84 · 14/07/2017 23:11

Eyeing up his rightful place on top of the bed Wink

Lanaorana2 · 14/07/2017 23:17

Make the most of it, tonight's your last unbroken kip for decades. Grin

In a fortnight's time you'll be watching mattress ads with humans showing how much space they've got with a look of pure wonderment and longing.

I know this is naughty but what about a few treats on the bed. Nothing like a nutritional opportunity to relax a little lad.

TheLongRider · 14/07/2017 23:36

You could leave a trail of Dreamies rather like Hansel and Gretel!

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 00:05

Well. Not with them, Fluffy. Shock

Lanaorana2 · 15/07/2017 11:16

Yes, the no-sleeping on the bed thing must have been awful for Newboy, No wonder he's a bit wired.

I know ASBO doesn't do co-sleeping but most cats can and I think it's a really vital part of the pal-pet relationship, v soothing and grounding.

Mind you, one human I know was nutted so hard at dawn her nose has swollen up a bit. Blame M&S. He's all right now, gone back to bed while I totter off to do good works.

Have a brilliant day Cozie and take it easy - are you on Netflix? If you lie down long enough you might get company.

Weedsnseeds1 · 15/07/2017 12:24

It took mine the best part of 2 months to do anything other than sneak out of his hiding place to eat, drink and trash the house in the dead of night!
When he did decide to emerge it was as a fully fledged puppy cat who was attached like velcro. No in between stage at all!
Early days yet cozie , you'll get there soon.

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 18:46

DBro was round today but was not allowed to see Newboy. (And to be fair, it gave me a reasonable opportunity to introduce Newboy to the 'Aw Gooaaan' phrase when DBro left. Smile)

OP posts:
RubbishMantra · 15/07/2017 19:36

Well done for not giving in to DB's pleas of "Aw goooaaan"! Newboy may well interpret that as you protecting him. Well, you were really, protecting him from anything that may make him nervous. Anyway, I'm sure that won't go unnoticed.

Had to laff Lana, Mr. C nutted you on the nose, yet, "he's alright now". Grin

cozietoesie · 15/07/2017 20:07

Well you have to be utterly consistent in your use of language with cats, in my experience. He's picked up several phrases already and I'll aim for a load more. Smile

In fact, I just went in to give him some fresh treats in his food ball - except said ball has disappeared somewhere. Still, having announced 'Treats' as I went into the room, he was coming out of his cupboard hidey place and was looking at me very accusingly, so I had to leave 3 or 4 on the paper and retreat. I'll look for the treat ball later. Wink
