Snorgmaiden has been admitted to the emergency vets with a high temperature, conjunctivitis, and enlarged stomach and enlarged lymph nodes. Thought something was t right last night but not overly worried. Slightly worried this morning but thought I was being neurotic. Took one look at her when I got home from work and straight to the emergency vets. Hopefully an infection but worst case may be lymphoma. She's having loads of tests Tonight and they will ring me later. Need my hand holding you lovely lot. Sad

She is normally really chilled out so I was suprised to see it. Her sister does have a very good I'm going to kill you look!

Last time mine was ill I knew he was better when he walked on my face to investigate a spider on the ceiling.

He was shipped off back to the utility room that night.

Youallpissmeoff · 22/02/2017 07:53

Bloody hell. My cat is over 6kg and they said he is never going to be small but was a little overweight. He is huge though - like a panther. We got him from a rescue - 4 dumped kittens. AngryAngryAngry

Hope your Cat gets better by the minute Star

Youallpissmeoff · 22/02/2017 07:59

My point was that I wouldn't have thought her weight was too much either.
Really hope she pulls through.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 08:27

Apparently although she is 4.8kg she is very petite therefore very fat. The hospital haven't said anything about her weight. Though she has lost loads and feels very boney now. So her excess blubber had done her good. Would love to put her on my bed but it's a new one and very high so don't want her to hurt herself getting off.

Yay! Grin. Well done, Snorgs, Good Girl!

Olinguito · 22/02/2017 10:43

Sorry to hear that your lovely cat is so poorly - I hope she is soon on the road to recovery. Good news that she's produced a poo!

cozietoesie · 22/02/2017 10:57

A poo is actually great news. Things are working in there.

Well done that girl. Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 10:59

I have a jumper that says 'sorry I can't, I'm feeding my cat' just realised that's not a joke anymore!!

Just checking in & sending best wishes to Snorgmaiden.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 15:27

Thanks to all of you. Picking her up at 5 and they will go through the feeding with me. My lovely ward manger (cat lady) let me nick two gravity feeding sets so I would prefer to do feed her in the same way I feed babies rather than pushing it in with a syringe but if it won't fit in the tube I'll have a rethink.

Good luck. Let us know how things go. Smile

RubbishMantra · 22/02/2017 16:16

MantraCats and me are cheering you and Snorgs on.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 18:58

She's home! Seems quite bright and has had a walk round the house and sat on the sofa next to me. Only problem is that she weed in the carrier, all over her tail and she's dragging it all over the house. Urgh!!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 22/02/2017 19:02

Can you take her to bed? ( With a towel in case of accidents. The mishap in the carrier is not unheard of, though.)

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 19:29

I will do but worried that she will hurt her self getting off as this bed is much higher than the old one. If she wants to jump up she can. She's sitting on my foot. She's very offended as the notes from the emergency vet make constant reference to her obesity and how big she is.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 22/02/2017 19:36

She's surely lost any 'surplus' now?

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 19:41

Yes. She looks tiny. And feels bony.

Well, good that she's well enough to feel offended about the remarks about her "obesity". MCat was a tad portly before his human, my DH, died unexpectedly. He's a healthy weight now.

Maybe a little stool for her to jump up and down off the bed? With a carpet off-cut stuck on it with with spray adhesive for grip?

TheLongRider · 22/02/2017 20:01

She must be just fluff by now! Are there standard weight ranges for Persians?

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 20:35

Rubbish, a stool is a great idea. I'll do that. Not sure she's bright enough to use it though. Don't want her on my bed until her tail has dried though! Wondering how they'll cope with my dad staying tomorrow night to look after them as I'm on nights. Suprised her coat is smooth and glossy considering how ill she's been.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 21:44

She's just sat upright!! Not seen that in a while. My pj bottoms are damp and stink of cat wee from her wet tail but I'll let her off!

OP posts:
Vinorosso74 · 22/02/2017 21:48

Aw good she's sitting up. She still looks all fluffy but I'm guessing there's not too much cat under it.
Good job you're a nurse albeit to two legged animals.
