Snorgmaiden has been admitted to the emergency vets with a high temperature, conjunctivitis, and enlarged stomach and enlarged lymph nodes. Thought something was t right last night but not overly worried. Slightly worried this morning but thought I was being neurotic. Took one look at her when I got home from work and straight to the emergency vets. Hopefully an infection but worst case may be lymphoma. She's having loads of tests Tonight and they will ring me later. Need my hand holding you lovely lot. Sad

Oh bless her, she's gorgeous. I'm glad she's sitting up.

I'm impressed she's still got the bandage on her leg, Harry removed his after I got him home. The vet told me to try and stick it back on - they'd sedated him to get it on in the first place so I don't know how they expected me to do it!

scaryteacher · 22/02/2017 22:04

A stool should work OP. My grey puddle of fur lost the use of his back legs until a vet sorted him out with physio/osteo and acupuncture, and I put a low stool in front of his favourite haunt on a wicker trunk to help him up and down. He soon worked out what it was for.

Weedsnseeds1 · 22/02/2017 22:13

Oh, she's looking better. Being home will be the best medicine. Old girl weed in the carrier every, single time.
Come on Snorg, more lovely poos for your Mum SmileSmile

Toddlerteaplease · 22/02/2017 22:26

Vino. The emergency vets note made me laugh as it referred to me as a human nurse. And when a central line was mentioned that I was an advocate of them. Her sister seems quite unsettled by her return. Especially as she's no hiding. But maybe she's sulking as she doesn't have me all to herself anymore!

She's never weed in the carrier. But she's had so much extra fluids in the last week I'm not surprised she can't hold it!

cozietoesie · 22/02/2017 22:33

She's not well, being carried from pillar to post and full of fluids. I'm not surprised at all. Rather you than me, though. Wink

Weedsnseeds1 · 22/02/2017 23:10

Sounds like it sloshed out as you drove round a corner Smile

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 07:43

Her poo absolutely stinks!! And it's all over the litter tray lid. Confused Trying to teach her to use a stool to get on my bed but she's not having it. Still not eating. And not drank out of her cup. Sad

Yay! Go Snorg!

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 10:15

Some of the food I left out in the spare room has also gone, but don't know if it was her or fattycat who's eaten it.

I'd not be surprised at yesterday 's poo smelling foul - she has a lot of sickness gunk to clear out of the system. (It being on the lid of the tray, though? Maybe she hated the smell?)

Are you still giving her liquids?

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 10:52

Yes she's still tube fed. It yet up to full feeds as they are taking it slowly because she hardly had anything for a week. She does seem a bit uncomfortable afterwards though and seems to almost hiccup afterwards. No vomiting.

cozietoesie · 23/02/2017 12:32

Her stomach might be 'out of practice'. Give it a few days.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 12:47

Yes. I am taking it slowly. She should be up to full feeds tomorrow. But worried about giving her 60ml + 10ml flush each time. Seems a bit much for her.

Oh, it's good to hear she's taking food, even if it is just Dreamies. Often when my boys have a couple, they then descend on their food bowls. They seem to act as an amuse bouche!

Cat wee damp PJs eh. True dedication. Snorg will be feeling the love and compassion radiating from you Toddler. Of that I'm sure.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 14:34

I put about 17 dreemies under her favourite hiding place and all but two have gone. Phoned the rescue I got her from for some advice and a Royal Canin rep was there, so had a long chat with her about feeding. Decided to stop offering her loads of wet food/pate as she wouldntvrealky eat them when well and just put small amounts of her usual food down. Put the camera in the spare room to see if it is her that's eating it. Rescue lady. Does not sound impressed by my vets. Not happy that they did a laparotomy when the scan showed no blockage. I do think it was the right thing to do in the circumstances and I think she's just proving a mystery and no one has a clevwhat is going on!

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 14:35

Rubbish, I think she's had enough love and compassion from me at the minute. She's doing her best to avoid me! Suppose I should take that as a good sign though.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 16:28

She's behaving almost normally. Do you think I should tube feed her before I go to work and tell my dad not to feed her before he goes to bed and see what she does. Can then top her up if she's not eaten or drank overnight. Don't want to keep filling her with milk and stop her eating herself.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 23/02/2017 16:48

How would she likely accept him trying to feed her?

Weedsnseeds1 · 23/02/2017 16:57

I think I would do what you suggested and feed her before work. It sounds as if she's getting an interest in normal food again so may well eat some if she's hungry over night.

Toddlerteaplease · 23/02/2017 17:05

Cozie, that's my concern. If she's becoming resistant to me doing it, he's got no hope. She tends to eat in the evening overnight anyway. And I want her to start eating asap as it's making her poo sticky. Put my hand on her and got poo on my hand. Ugh!! She's jumped on the bed and was sat in her basket in my bedroom making biscuits and purring loudly. Which is normal for her. She's obviously still not quite right but so much more her normal self.

cozietoesie · 23/02/2017 17:21

Yes. I'd try a bit yourself.
