Fine yesterday , brought me a shrew first thing but didn't eat his breakfast and hasn't eaten since and can't tempt him with anything.

More worryingly he's been curled up in his basket since lunch time and can barely muster up a purr when I stroke him let alone any opera singingSad

I'm taking him to the vet first thing.

I'm sooo worried about him Sad

PS - you'll likely be imagining itches for a longish time even though they may really not be fleas. If in doubt, you can always do the old undressing in the bath routine to check them out - with bar of soap (soft side) to hand. Wink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/09/2016 16:52

Oooo good plan!!Grin

I haven't seen any in the house apart from the half dead ones in his basket and on him, andc they've been tiny little things not adult ones.

And yes, lots of bars of soap in this house, much prefer it to hand washGrin

Good. Some people don't have it around any more - or at any rate, not unless it's posh stuff they've been given as a present. Wink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/09/2016 22:01

I favour waitrose bog standard 59p bars Grin

Managed to get another cystaid capsule down him as he's meant to have 2 a day atm.

He's drinking loads- more than he ever has.

Just combed him and found two dead critters- hooray!Grin

Couldn't find any Applaws so have ordered a taster pack from Zooplus.

Still washing.. and combing...only 1 today and it was moving but very, very slightly ... until I crushed the little bastard!Grin

cozietoesie · 29/09/2016 19:27

Is the combing being enjoyed? Smile

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/09/2016 19:32

Oh God, he LOVES it! And it's nice as he's never really been a lap cat before but that has changed and he can spend an hour having a cuddle and purring Smile

Interestingly he's a lot more settled generally so we do think he might have been having issues for a while and they just got much much worse last week. Poor old thing. Hope he likes the Applaws.

cozietoesie · 29/09/2016 19:46

You're stuck with it then. Smile (Regardless of any little blighters he picks up.)

It's actually useful for helping with fur balls, I've found. Assuming you get loose fur out in the process. Smile

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/09/2016 20:22

He doesn't shed a lot but happy to keep it up as I enjoy the cuddlesSmile

cozietoesie · 29/09/2016 21:02

See if you can use a word.

I just used to say 'Grooo-ooom' to Seniorboy and wave his brush comb in the air and he'd be up and waiting. Smile

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/09/2016 21:43

Good idea. He sits fit his food so he'll probably respond to other words other than 'PLEASE stop singing!!!!

He looks a lot better now.

Threetoedsloth · 30/09/2016 12:13

Gorgeous boy, blissed out. So glad he's so much better Dame. Phew- we do worry dreadfully don't we?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 30/09/2016 13:18

Worry, who, me?BlushGrin

Combed this morning and there was a jumping flea- I squashed the bastard, urghhh. Bearing in mind I did the Advocate on Tuesday should he still have live fleas, it was very much alive and jumping the others have been half dead and very slow?

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 30/09/2016 13:25

Well it won't stop him acquiring fleas, it just means that biting him will kill them.

When he's better he could have a program injection, it's flea contraceptive so if he get them they can't lay eggs.

It stops the house being infested.

cozietoesie · 30/09/2016 13:32

Yes - you don't know when that flea hatched. Timing is all on these things - it might have been leaping around but already doomed. Smile

cozietoesie · 30/09/2016 13:34

How often does the injection have to be given, Fluffy?
