Anyone snuck three dogs into center parcs

FlipFlopZebra · 10/07/2026 19:38

Has anyone snuck an extra dog into center parcs? Really want to book one lodge for myself, husband, daughter and parents but we have three dogs between us.

Two of the dogs are same breed so could pass as one, but I’m working out how to you get past the entrance? Do they record number of dogs in each car?

I would hide the smallest one but she’s noisy 😆 so it would be our largest one who would need hiding as she’d keep quiet.

It’s two labradors and Jack Russell. Just seems expensive to pay for a whole extra lodge just to accommodate a dog!

Hopefully you'll get kicked out if you try to smuggle one in. Having 3 dogs is so unnecessary, if you have to overrun your life with dogs then live with the consequences

🙄

Dogs have to be on a lead apart from a few dog exercise areas which aren’t very large. They aren’t allowed in the main buildings usually

OP mumsnet is full of people who would never break rules and love to act utterly disgusted at people who would.
Before the system where names were logged when booking activities I know someone who hid 2 kids in the boot 😆😆

As for dogs, they don't get out of the checkin cabin to check in the car, you have the window open and give details through the window so it should be fine if they are travelling in seperate cabins and you can keep one dog hidden. I must say I really don't thing centre parcs is great for dogs, we go to the whinfell one and they just have little square compounds for the dogs to go do their business, I don't actually know if they are allowed inside the centre, I haven't ever seen one in there.

I second Forest Holidays, they are infinity betters for dogs, loads of long walks around, dog washing stations, water bowls and the cabins have fenced off decking areas so you can be outside without the dog getting out. Good luck!

Thank you, I’ve been quite shocked at the onslaught of people calling me names such as a “dickhead” for even contemplating - would they call me this to my face in real life? Probably not got the balls to! 😆 Some people really have never broken rules in their life haven’t they!?!? Wow. So many angels 😇

Thank you for your measured post and advice, forest holidays has been recommended a lot so thinking this may be an option instead will have a look and hope our nearest one isn’t too far 🤞

Why are you being so obtuse to all the people coming on here to tell you that you should be honest and that what you’re thinking of doing isn’t right? Your replies are really odd.

You don’t like people calling you out for this behaviour. You also aren’t a risk taker, by your own words, and worried you’d be caught. So why would you even contemplate doing this? It’s going to ruin your holiday being on edge all the time, trying to hide a labrador, trying to work out which extra cabin could be yours. Then presumably if you’re caught, you’re going to be offended when you’re called dishonest.

Seems like a much bigger waste of money than just getting a second cabin, if your heart is set on CP.

😆 😆 because I’ve not asked people for opinions on this I’ve asked anyone has snuck a dog in.

I know it’s breaking the rules but that’s on me and my risk to take.

The small one is noisy though, that's not going to work. "Why is your stomach growling?" "I'm hungry". And OP doesn't want ro pay for two lodges, so definitely too tight arsed to fit a labrador.

I’ve not come on here to be “called out on my behaviour” my behaviour being completely hypothetical 😆 I asked if anyone had any experience of it.

I am sorry for even contemplating it.

Honestly they are crazy, I remember someone once asked if they had ever got their kid in somewhere for cheaper pretending they were a year or 2 younger and the disgust was hilarious. She was called all sorts, theif, no morals etc. I think my MIL pretended my son was 4 until he was about 7 😆, the absolute cretin she was 🤣

Anyhoo, I do think the dog needs to be hidden on check in, we have arrived with people in different cars and they know if someone has already checked in so there's a very good chance they note down the dogs too x

LumpyandBumps · 10/07/2026 20:30

I have been going to Center Parcs for 20+ years, waited in long queues for check in and I have never seen a member of staff check the boot of a car. At most they glance into the car from where they are seated inside the arrivals lodge.
Once in the park no staff will be in your lodge unless it needs any maintenance, and when you are out no one will know how many lodges you have.
That said I don’t think you should take 3 dogs to Center Parcs as although it might seem an attractive proposition it is an awful place for them - and you.
They can’t be left unsupervised in the lodge
( fair enough I suppose), they have to be on the lead the whole time they are out, and in the one I visit there is only one place where they are allowed inside; a coffee shop.
It means your whole group can never go swimming all together, or out for a meal, etc.
It’s common to see fairly disgruntled guests sitting outside as presumably it’s their turn to miss out so they can look after the dog whilst the rest of the family enjoys the activities. It’s not a dog friendly place.

Sorry I shall refrain from being a dickhead and take some responsibility I am clearly a terrible individual for even considering this as an option I shall go away and reflect on my actions….

Very good. Whilst doing that, perhaps also reflect on the bad name you give to all dog owners, even those of us who actually do give a shit and do take responsibility? Have fun!

Two dogs are same breed. Daughter takes one a walk outside of the park. You and other check in with two dogs, then one stays with one in cabin drives out and gets Daughter with other dog?

Was coming on to suggest similar. You’re allowed to leave in a car once you’ve checked in. So,

Travel in 2 cars.

Car 1 - some people and Lab 1 and Jack Russell.

Car 2 - rest of the people and Lab 2

Car 1 checks in with x2 dogs, a Lab and a JR, which are on your booking form. Parks up for a bit, then leaves with an empty car (they don’t watch you leaving), pretending to go shopping or whatever and pretending Lab 1 is in the boot.

They collect Lab 2 from Car 2 and return. They’re waved through because they’ve already checked in.

Car 2 checks in a bit later on with no dogs because all 3 are now in Center Paecs, courtesy of a covert mission by Car 1.

Center Parcs check in staff think you’ve got 1 Lab and 1 Jack Russell. No one else will have a clue. Even if you walk them together no one will know whether you’ve got 1, 2 or a dozen lodges or even who you are.

And yes, people have done this to bring in extra adults, children and even a house cat.
It wasn’t me so please don’t come on telling me about people with allergies.

AnyDayNowChuckJacksonNSoul · 10/07/2026 20:31

@powershowerforanhour That genuinely made me laugh.
Be a brave person to lube up a lab.

GrinchPink · 10/07/2026 20:32

What if one of the dogs that you want to sneak in bites another guest or another dog?

My sister-in-law took their dog one year when we all travelled together. There is a small fenced-off area where dogs can run around and do their business, but it's nothing special. Other than that, the dog had to stay in the lodge most of the time because you can't take them to the activities or most of the facilities.

To be honest, it felt like a bit of a waste. Yes, you can take them on lots of walks, but you can do that anywhere, for free.

Housebashing · 10/07/2026 20:33

Daughter sneaked a cat in once, nobody was happy about that, but she did get away with it

I will, I also apologise to all dog owners for giving you a bad name for a behaviour I was just simply contemplating in my head and asked about on an online forum. 😆 😆 😆

Is this response “very good” too?

Park Dean is very dog-friendly, and plenty of private owners advertise on sites like Sykes Cottages. All say 2 digs max, but every time we have emailed the owners directly, we have gotten permission to bring three or four instead. Lodges owned or managed directly by Park Dean are for 2 dogs only, and you don't get the owner's details to contact them to ask, but also Park Dean staff don't check, so who would know/ Especially since some owners advertise privately and through Park Dean.

JoyousWriter · 10/07/2026 20:34

Why are so many dog people so selfish?

bitmiffed26 · 10/07/2026 20:35

I’ll hold my hands up and admit that I’ve lied about the ages of my child before…over 2 years old (I think) and they wanted us to have an extra bedroom, even though my child was perfectly fine to sleep in a travel cot…. So she stayed 23 months for an extra 6 months 💁🏻‍♀️

I’d not lie about an extra dog though. I’m assuming the need to know exact numbers for insurance purposes or similar.
and as I said upthread, as have multiple others, it’s a shit place for a dog

SquashPenguin · 10/07/2026 20:35

Only certain lodges allow dogs, and they tend to be grouped together. It’s obvious where the doggy ones are. If you have dogs in a lodge set amongst ones that don’t, they’ll be noticed. It’s different if you’re already staying in the dog ones of course.

Put the wine down love, you've had one too many, no one would actually be this horrified and nasty to someone for daring to suggest trying to sneak a dog somewhere unless they were pissed as a fart.

I’d say given my dogs have never bitten before that situation is quite low risk.

Thank you for sharing your SILs experience, It doesn’t sound as dog friendly then so maybe not worth it.

You're thinking of the Trojan War, I think, when an army of jack russells burst out of a wooden labrador and defeated an entire holiday park.

We need more of this on MN !! 🤣
