Thank you for being on this crazy ride with us.

Could someone please explain who this dog is in my house and what they've done with Pod? Because he's been absolutely angelic today. Truly a wonderful, wonderful dog and even coped with my DF and DPs pal coming over for Sunday dinner and sitting up getting merry on red wine.

Or perhaps the collective will on MN have given me a SERIOUSLY needed good day. What a star. 🥹

It appears that way but he gets up after about a minute and starts shoving the muddy ball into my legs again 🤣

Does Pod still have the dustpan brush?

Apparently it’s very common for people to name their robot vacuums. Lots of vacuum-related versions of celebrity names seems popular.

The Podbot?

I really like the idea of naming it after a celebrity. Preferably one of the ones I used to work with who was a twit.

Ours is called Marvin, I can't remember why. He comes out when everyones in bed upstairs because the Stick Dog would have an absolute fucking meltdown at it otherwise - she's seen him in action once and declared it WITCH CRAFT and tried to herd it out the back door so she could release it into the wild.

We've also had shouting at the wind, pointed looks and grumbles at me demanding I switch it off now, and some dramatic staring into the wind because it makes our frilly ears look all hair-adverty. She am a twat. 😍

LWBH and the Ancient One have barely noticed the weather at all. LWBH noticed I wasn't well today (messed up pain meds, very stoned and pukey) so stuffed his nose in my mouth because apparently anyone feeling stoned and pukey NEEDS a gert hefty hairy dickhead whose breath smells like tripe, flattening them.

@WiddlinDiddlin love the use of the word gert, I never hear anyone use it in real life anymore, and my friends look confused when I use it.

Widdlin I love your dog stories as much as I love Pod's stories. This is such a lovely thread.

Pods ears are swiveling like radar but he's not TOO upset yet.

My dog is a little bit scared annoyed by the fireworks but I've stroked her and said it's okay and she's settled.

Hope Pod coped with any NY fireworky shenanigans - v quiet here, The Widdlin' Canine Crew all asleep after some chewy chews (dental chews) which is a fraught event as the Ancient One takes three times longer than the young uns to eat his (even though his are much softer than theirs) and they must HAUNT him lest he drop a bit - he doesn't of course, blind and wobbly he may be but the sniffer department is fully functional! They live in hope however.

The only annoying thing here is next doors electric meter box door flapping in the wind and in the end I sent Himself out with the gaffer tape to tape it shut cos next door were out.

He's okay as in his not injured but he seems quite stressed now we're home. My poor boy!

I was just watching his video on Instagram. Happy birthday, Pod! He looks so much happier at the end of the video than at the start. You are good people, OP and husband.

Is it... because they're a fucking moron with a tiny penis, and want to feel big n' hard n' clever with their total mastery of this enormous dog, off lead... and then when it goes tits up, blame someone else!

It'll be your fault because your dogs on a harness/on a lead..

Because your dog barked.

Because your dog is the wrong shape/colour/size.

Because you did/said the wrong thing.

At no point, ever, will it be the aggressive dogs owners fault for not using a lead/muzzle/managing their dog appropriately. That isn't a thing.

Unfortunately, theres a lot of those types of monumental fuckwit around. Hugs, its shit when you meet one of those. If you have a clue where it lives you could try sending the dog warden round for a word about dog control orders and so on.

@HangingOver How are you feeling? I’m guessing that you’re feeling shaken up by it. Did the dog owner pull their dog off Pod straight away or get aggressive with you or anything like that?

She sort of did but it didn't listen to her and it was huge. I was swearing while the dog was trying to hurt Pod but weirdly I didn't actually say anything to her, I was so busy trying to get him away.

My pup has only been attacked by dachshunds so far - on 2 separate occasions!

If another of the little fuckers gets aggy with him they’ll be feeling my boot.
