This thread is now closed—join us in the September “Dog of the Month” thread here

Hello everyone,

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new campaign in partnership with Pedigree! 🐾

Dogs bring so much joy and love into our lives, often transforming families in wonderful ways. To celebrate the beauty of dog adoption and its positive impact on family life, we invite you to share photos of your beloved dogs right here in this thread. Whether your dog is adopted or not, we'd love to hear your stories and see your photos!

How It Works:

  1. Post a photo of your dog (with or without your family) along with a brief story or anecdote about how they've enriched your family's life.
  2. Every month, a "Dog of the Month" will be selected from the entries.
  3. The winning photo and story will be featured on our Instagram page, introducing your dog and family to our community.
  4. The winning dog's parent will receive a prize valued at £100! (We have received a few users questions on this - please see more detailed information here)
We can't wait to see your furry friends and hear how they've become a cherished part of your family. Whether they came from a shelter, rescue organization, were rehomed through other means, or have been with you since they were a puppy, every story is worth sharing and celebrating.

Let's come together and showcase the incredible beauty of dog adoption! 🐶❤️
Happy posting, and good luck!

P.S. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram to see all the adorable "Dog of the Month" winners!

And what happens to the copyright of the photos?

£100 per month is a VERY cheap way of appropriating potentially hundreds of images for later use in marketing

Here is Dolly Dog watching the sunset after an evening swim and sharing our fish and chips. She is nearly 13 but looks and acts like a puppy and a bit of a local celebrity, when we go out every one wants to stroke her and give her treats. We hope she keeps going strong for a few years yet.

in partnership with Pedigree

Let's have the full terms and conditions relevant to this competition please, just to check this isn't a rights grab by Pedigree for some cheap photos and copy.

Here is a lovely photo of my lovely Lola after a swim! I adopted her 5 years ago after her previous owners could no longer care for her and she is the light of our lives. She is a very 'undoggy' dog who definitely thinks she's human, sitting next to me on the sofa upright watching TV most nights. Can't imagine life without her.

This is Tara getting her first bath. She came to us abused and starved and terrified of everything. Hard work, patience and love built her up to be the bumbling beautiful doggy in the pic. She provides never ending cuddles and at 6 years old has finally realised what toys are 😢 We don’t think she’ll have a long life so she gets away with absolute murder, and why shouldn’t she!

We have a dm and her dd. They look like we own doggy book ends...
Very much loved pair... I asked ds9 who was his favourite and he said he loves them both the same. And if he only had a small chair to share he would squash along to fit them both on!
Nell and Polly we love you!

We have had Dougie a year.
He was rescued from a horrific situation, he was kept outside in a crate and had been starved to the point he had only days left to live.
He had to have part of his tail removed from damage caused in the crate and all his fur shaved off which was traumatic for him.
From the minute we saw him we knew he was meant to be ours.
He has had 12 months living his absolute best life, he has climbed mountains, sniffed and leapt his way through forests and now we have moved 10 minutes away from a beach.
Watching him run free fills our hearts with so much joy and even on the gloomiest and greyest of days , his happiness is life affirming.
He's given us more than we ever imagined and we feel so very lucky to have him.

Misleading title – suggests the prize is £100 cash. Suppose it’s more likely the retail price for a product that the company has nominated the value of 😉

Bleurfghjj · 29/06/2024 15:56

“Win £100”

💯 % means £100 cash. It’s completely unambiguous

KoalaDrama · 29/06/2024 16:58

it says ‘a prize valued at £100’

So probably £100 worth of crappy Pedigree dog food and treats.

That’s £100-worth to you (so say they), not to them ;)

Mr. Milo!
I had a very tough year last year.
I was an emergency admission to hospital last year via a&e for mixed (intentional) overdose.
I had secondary complications and nearly lost my left leg.
I spent 5 months in hospital and got out the start of may.
Got Milo as a 15 week pup in September.
I have had my work cut out but he's helped me in so many ways I never thought possible.
💕

I don't feed anything to my dog that hasn't come straight out of the local butchers shop. He won't even eat butternut bollox, so Chum has no change.

I nearly cried when I read this. Thank you for giving Dougie a loving home.

@LibbyMumsnet Can you tell us what the prize actually is please rather than just saying a prize worth £100? It might be something we don't want or need so wouldn't enter for. Equally it might be something fab that would attract a lot more entries😁

Beautifulbythebay · 29/06/2024 20:55

Dougie deserves a huge bloody medal for his courage.. And his new owner too!

This is Luna who helped us find a bit of joy and light during our several year battle with infertility. We now have an 8 month old little miracle who she is the best big sister to.

This is Reggie. He’s two and we love him.

He's a terrible thief and the scourge of any birds that flyover his airspace. He’s also a friendly little socialite and loves everyone.

His hobbies and interests include diving into the marsh, stealing dairy products, rancid farts and sneaking upstairs to lie on the human beds.

His most exciting words are “Granddad” “beach” and “car”.

The cat is his nemesis.

He is known to his friends as “Turkish” thanks to his gleaming white teeth.

He’s half cockerpoo and half Frenchie.

Our two amazing boys, Dermot (R) and Pádraig (L) who have been the most caring, beautiful and therapeutic big brothers to the three children we have fostered over the last two years. They are both amazing cuddlers when times are tough, and are the most fun when all you need is someone to play with. We couldn’t imagine life without them!

This is Buffy. This picture was taken the summer before she passed (last year) on my Grandads old film camera by my finance. She was going to be flower pup at our wedding this November as we got her 3 months before I met my parent, so known her for the full 12 years of our relationship (high school sweet hearts)! She passed almost exactly a year before our wedding date so we have decided to have this picture up by the guest book at our wedding. She was a much adored dog and I’ve had her ashes and some fur made into bracelet charms and tie pins for our wedding party as she was just so loved by so many of us!

I know it sounds like a sad story but it really isn’t, we had the most wonderful 12 years with her and although we miss her more than we can say, we are just so grateful for the impact she had on our lives!
