I won't. I'm just venting 😭😭😭

But I have 2 dogs age 5 and 7. Completely toilet trained since pups.

A close friend got a puppy and suffered a serious bereavement just weeks after. Breeder wasn't interested so I took pup to find a rescue to take her. Nobody had room anywhere or could help. I couldn't trust anyone to take her from FB or anything. This went on for weeks and months and eventually I just stopped looking.

But she's not toilet trained at all. I do everything I didn't successfully with my other dogs but she's just stupid. She just continues to pee inside and poo inside and this has made my older dogs start doing the same!!

Now if it's Cole or wet non of them will go out. They hold their pees in and just sniff about and act like they don't need it.

I'm trying my hardest to stay out with them till they go but I have health issues and standing gin the cold is SO painful waiting for all 3 to go.

I'm coming down every morning to piss and shit.

I've bought them new beds to crate train them.

In th night someone has got off the couch, gone to the bed and filled it with piss
. I'm just on my last tether

I wish I never kept the youngest dog. She's just ruined all the hard work put in with the other 2. They were toilet trained for years before she same along.

I'm not asking for advice and I know what you will say. Take out every 45 mins. Back to basics. Dobt let them in unless they've peed. Ignore inside accidents. Praise and high value treat if done outside. Walk before bed, don't cone home till they've peed.

I'm trying all that.

OP posts:
Jingleballs2 · 29/01/2024 08:16

They won't pee on a walk before bed?

I've had to start walking mine around 11-12pm. otherwise, he does the same in the garden and then wants out in the middle of the night. Once for a wee and once for a poo because obviously you can't do both at the same time 🫣 plus he's scratched a sore into his face so he now has a cone and is absolutely destroying the place, flipping coffee tables etc with it 🤦‍♀️

Nabooh · 29/01/2024 08:19

I can't take them out late at night. It's not a safe area. I absolutely would not feel safe walking in the dark here. My neighbour was mugged last week just bringing her shopping in from her car at around 7pm! But it was dark.

I walk them after 9am breakfast and after their dinner at 3pm

Unfortunately if things dont change then things wont change

If you carry on doing what you are doing the dogs will carry on doing what they are doing.

That's why they are toileting overnight in the house. It's far too long. Can you hold it for 18 hours too?

They have a big garden to use too, it's not like they don't go out after 3 pm.

There's massive gangs of teens in balaclavas shouting shit at passers by hanging out all around the estate. I really do not feel safe going out :(
No one goes out round here after dark unless you're one of the trouble makers.

SapphireOpal · 29/01/2024 08:54

Are you using an enzyme cleaner to clean the pee up? If not that might be why the other dogs have started weeing inside.

Yikes, I guess I'm lucky to live in the area I do!

Failing that, can you send them in to the garden and shut them out for 15 minutes? Mine usually gets the hint after a while and goes for a wee. He always needs one, don't know why he won't just go in the first place

catelynjane · 29/01/2024 09:01

I think I recognise you from your last thread about this.

Unfortunately if you won't or can't change your behaviour then your dogs' aren't going to change theirs.

BeadedBubbles · 29/01/2024 09:03

I'm trying my hardest to stay out with them till they go but I have health issues and standing gin the cold is SO painful waiting for all 3 to go.

I think you'll just have to power through this if you possibly can. All out at 10pm or whatever, with you wrapped up warm and a stool to sit on if necessary. Wait it out. First dog to do something gets lots of praise, a treat and let back in. But not the others until they've done the same.

WhyAmINotCleaning · 29/01/2024 09:03

It sounds a nightmare for you. Have you tried a behaviourist or the Facebook page 'Dog training advice and support'?

OP has said she lives in an unsafe area.

OP has said she lives in an unsafe area.

I think she means in the garden.

I know something has to change.

I've just bought 2 crates to crate train them in hopes that they won't want to pee/poo where they sleep and so will go toilet if they know they're going to bed.

OP posts:
catelynjane · 29/01/2024 09:09

@WhyAmINotCleaning yes, but she has a large, enclosed garden so she can sit out there with them until they go to the toilet:

Nabooh · 29/01/2024 09:09

I might just walk them up and down the street outside my house. Just staying close to the front door.

I have to do something cause I'm in tears every morning cleaning it all up.

It's affecting my relationship with them :(

Where are you OP ?

Nabooh · 29/01/2024 09:16

In the NW.

OP posts:
Devilshands · 29/01/2024 09:43

What breed is the new dog? IME some of the problematic breeds are just untrainable when it comes to toilet training...

Honestly, I know you said you don't want to get rid of her. But you should. No one should have to live in a house than smells like dog piss and shit - and the smell will linger, no matter how good your cleaning products are. And if it's effecting your relationship with your existing dogs, that's unfair on them.

Windymcwindyson · 29/01/2024 09:46

Shutting them in the garden isn't toilet training... With practice they can wee to order. We have 4 and all wee together on command

Nabooh · 29/01/2024 09:47

Who said I shut them in the garden? 🤔

OP posts:
Nabooh · 29/01/2024 09:49

And did you miss the part where I said my older dogs were 100% toilet trained before the little monster arrived? I did toilet training. They cracked it as puppies.

This one just seems broken.

She's a chihuahua mix

Nabooh · 29/01/2024 09:51

Right I've just cleaned all the floor.

Realised she's been pissing in her toy box too so binned all the soft toys and put that on a hot wash.

Washed all the beds on a hot wash. Am going to pick up the crates then I'm going to set a schedule.
