I love this thread. Because I think I am bonkers sometimes, so I have found my crowd....😃
I have two big dogs and one is short haired so feels the cold. I live in a hot country so we aren't geared up for winter like Northern countries so we improvise at times. So Ddog 1 is a big gal and she grew out of her jersey, so I had used an old tshirt (conveniently cut to make it comfy) to keep her warm. I let her out for a wee in the morning, so she was still wearing it. Some people were walking past, and laughed at her wearing her fushia pink attire. I was so upset about it, that I went and bought her a new jersey the same morning. She did love that tshirt ensemble though, she would have this grin on when I had put it on her.
My old Labrador in his last few weeks wasn't very agile and battled to get up and down. So I got out a sleeping bag for him for him to lay on and then I could also use it to pull him around the house to where ever I was, as it was nice and slippy on the laminate floors. He would just lie there while we went from room to room. Then I cut a shopping bag to put under him when he stood up so I could grip the handles and help him along.
Ddog2 is on thyroid meds and has to have it squirted into his mouth first thing every morning. If I don't sing, he wont take it nicely. He just barks at me (granted sometimes it is very early so my thinking is to just get the meds into the dog). No, he will only approach me to let me give them to him after I have sang out
You're a big boy now
With a big boys needs
And a big boys dreams
Why don't you accept yourself
Accept your desires
And meet your needs
Deny your prooooooooooblemzz
(Have to emphasis the last bit).
Then he does his wiggle bum move and comes to me to get his syringe squirted in his mouth.
My dc think its hilarious as they don't need to go through this rigmarole with him, they just shove it in him lol....
I secretly love it though. It's our moment. Although at 5.30am there are some mornings I cut out a line or two.....
