Back to school for my lot tomorrow. Taken pup for an evening walk tonight, desperately trying to tire him out! He's struggled to nap today as felt too hot.

I've broken my pup by going to the moor and then the beach 😳

Here is Anouk.. she is being a very good girl at the moment but there is still time....

Jinny has learnt she can whine at the door and be let out. It’s driving me insane! She’s begun digging the garden and I have no idea how to stop it! Help :( lol

I'd not open the door @Jinnybean. Make sure she has had opportunity to toilet and then play inside and ignore the asking to go out.

In terms of digging...watch her or don't let her out. I have mesh over several areas of the lawn where my DH failed to follow this advice 🙄

My pup has slightly become terrified of going in the kitchen? So weird? And how do I get him over it? Tried tempting with treats.

Ada is enjoying her holiday, me slightly less so.

@Jinnybean ours likes to dig in the garden too. I tried putting sheeting over the areas he’s been digging in (we are having a new patio laid and so there are piles of soil where it’s been dug out) but he worked out how to pull them off and started right back up! Not sure what the answer is except to distract him and make sure there is plenty to do out there.

Seem to have a permanently scruffy and muddy dog! The puppy over the road is so glossy and beautiful, like a dog out of a Disney film, and mine looks like he’s been dragged through a hedge in comparison! 😂 To be fair, that’s exactly what he’s been doing all day!

Oh god, me! The dog absolutely bloody REEKS tonight. His fart could strip wallpaper.

He's also just gagged himself on his chew, puked and eaten it before I could stop him.

I didn't realise until I got one how gross dogs are! But my god they are bloody lush!

Mine has been on the rabbit caviar again, and he had a dried ducks neck. Which he adores but oof, they make him stink!!

Lots of voluntary heel walking on our potter this morning, mainly because he's hungry and I had kibble in the treat pouch so he had some of brekkie on the go and it was nice he is doing it without prompting even if it is purely mercenary 🤣

I also came on to ask for digging advice 🙈. We have a sort of extra bit around the side of the house and I haven’t minded him digging there but for the past couple of days he’s been digging in the corner opposite the house and it looks awful! I think it’s because next door have got 2 new puppies and he met them on Friday and loved them so I think he’s trying to dig through to them!

I’m feeling a bit down today as I was able to let him in the garden for a bit of respite from him but now I have to literally follow him around or he’s straight to the corner and digging again 🙈.

The only thing I've found that works with all unsociable but addictive behaviours is prevention sorry. Put chairs or wind break or something to prevent access or not letting into the garden

When mine was a puppy our play pen was a life saver because you could open it up so it was one massive long line (stand it slightly zig zagged so it stood up by itself iykwim). We actually bought another so we could put them together and cordon off massive areas in the garden which prevented his attempts at digging and eating stones.

He slept for 4 hours, yes 4 hours, straight last night!!! I know it'll probably be a one off but it feels great right now 😂

On the negative side, he did his third poo in the kitchen last night after DH had taken him out for a poo/wee 🤬

Fiddlesticks! I literally left B unattended for two minutes and she has chewed through the cable of DSs keyboard that he obviously forgot to unplug! Luckily, it was turned off, but bloody hell, this is better harder.

Sorry people with diggers I think the only way is constant supervision and redirecting or no access! Our trainer suggested a sandpit they can dig in but we didn't go that route as thought it would just practice the behaviour.

In the meantime fill the holes in and cover with ground coffee as dogs don't like it but it's not harmful.

@Aria20 ground coffee! This is the kind of thing is was after! Billy will always try to stick his nose in my tea but never my coffee!

This reminds me of an incident we had over the weekend whilst visiting family. We don't drink coffee, don't have it on the house, so TerrorPup thought the smell of my SIL coffee was great. Eventually stuck her nose in to try some (peril of low coffee tables!) both burning her nose and discovering coffee is gross. Never seem a tiny amount of coffee spat so far and wide... Or her drink a bowl of water so quickly.

Luckily it wasn't too hot so burning is minimal but maybe it will stop her trying to get in my cups of tea now...

Mine is still being a bugger picking and choosing when to recall and sometimes running back so I think she's going to but then running around me and past me - basically laughing in my face!! I don't ever try to chase her though I just start walking away and say byeeee and that usually works although not always!! Primula doesn't work at all for her unfortunately lol she prefers chicken or ham but still likes to ignore me. Might have to buy sprats

@Aria20 I also do the ‘bye then, I’m going’ thing like you’d do with a toddler 😂.

I went out and sprinkled coffee into the hole (supposed to be on an INSET day so no time to fill it right now). Billy sniffed it, turned his nose up and walked off, so thanks for that little win! 😊
