Mine is lying asleep on my foot and "ruffing" away - I adore these little sleep barks, they make me feel so warm and happy and a big smile spreads across my face

Huge, deep groans when she's especially comfy or enjoying a stroke. She does it with every breath, almost like purring.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 09/03/2021 12:38

If I'm ever in pain, he knows and comes and reassures me.

When he was a puppy I had a really bad migraine and he was so good and calm. He came and sat with me and licked my tears and kept checking on me. ❤️❤️

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 09/03/2021 12:47

Brings me her favourite toy, greets me at the door when I get home, wags her tail when I move or talk to her but best of all is when she huffs when being cuddled - it’s her ultimate sound of happiness.

SirSniffsAlot · 09/03/2021 12:51

In the morning he leans into me in bed, like a little spoon. If my arm is up, he rests his head on it and gazes at me while I wake up. In a nice way, not in a 'get up and walk me' way Grin

That and the walk look. The gaze up from my side with that lovely, relaxed open mouthed grin. The one that sees to say 'this is the life, eh?'.

That look melts my heart every single time.

Easterbunnygettingready · 09/03/2021 12:53

Taught dpuppy to give kisses through the spindles on the stairs. If I forget she sits at the top waiting...

Amdone123 · 09/03/2021 12:54

When we were play fighting the other day, he accidentally nipped my finger. He stopped, licked it, then resumed play. I thought my heart would burst.

GooodMythicalMorning · 09/03/2021 12:59

One of mine just flops onto my lap almost in a floaty way, I melt every time she does it. Another gets really happy when you say nanas coming and makes me laugh but its so adorable.

Yes! I absolutely love it when my pup does this. Really makes me smile.

MustBeThin · 09/03/2021 13:08

Jumps on the settee and nudges my arm with her nose while wagging her tail, because she wants me to lift my arm up so she can sleep underneath it with her head and front paws on my lap. 🥰 if I have a blanket on my knee and lift it up she will run under it, turn round to poke her head out and settle down for a sleep.

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 09/03/2021 13:12

Mine likes to sleep on my lap under a blanket. When he stirs and starts to wake up he crawls out but it's as though he isn't ready so he gets as far as putting his paws on my chest and yawns with a really funny squeaky sound then puts his head under my chin for a cuddle.

Also he comes into our bed in the middle of the night and sometimes I turn over and find him on his back with his head on my pillow just like my babies used to do.

Sometimes I just make eye contact with him and I start to cry because I love him so much!

MagentaRocks · 09/03/2021 13:15

When I come home. My husband lets him out to great me. He almost bends in half his little back end wiggles so much as he is so excited.

Stellaris22 · 09/03/2021 13:58

Another fan of when they look up at you with a smile on a walk, it's lovely.

Silly noises when she has a really good ear scratch make me smile. Plus the constant pawing or nudging with her nose when on the sofa and I'm not giving her enough attention. From a 24kg basset it's hard to ignore!

HearMeSnore · 09/03/2021 14:37

My little terrier is long gone but my favourite thing he did was the way he'd alert us that he was ready to come in from the back garden. He was too little to look over the bottom half of the stable door in the kitchen, even on his back legs, and it never seemed to occur to him that he could scratch on it to get our attention. So instead he'd leap up in the air off all four little feet, floppy ears flying like wings, and try to catch someone's eye.

Sometimes we'd pretend we hadn't seen him, so he'd do it again Grin

0ntheg0again · 09/03/2021 14:37

When he thinks he hasn't had enough attention (working from home) he comes up and buffs my arm with his sweet beardy face and won't stop until I give him a proper cuddle Smile makes it difficult to type on the laptop

CMOTDibbler · 09/03/2021 16:19

Ddog1 sleeps in ds's bed. You go in in the morning if they are sleeping in , and ddog1 peeks up from under the duvet with a distinct look of 'no, I'm with my boy, you can't remove me' then settles back down with a self satisfied sigh

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 09/03/2021 23:16

These are so lovely. We’ve only had dpup for 8 weeks so we’re still getting to know her. But every time she asks to be picked up, my heart melts. She reaches her front paws up me and sort of leans into me and when I pick her up she settles herself in my arms and makes a little ‘huff’ noise which seems to say that’s better’!

Honeyroar · 09/03/2021 23:20

If you say his name three times he gets up and gives you a cuddle, no matter how fast asleep he is or how quietly you say it. Even if he’s lying on someone’s lap when you say it. It’s like a hidden command that he can’t refuse!

FrangipaniBlue · 09/03/2021 23:26

Every morning he needs a hug!

I kneel on the floor and he puts one front paw on each on my thighs, leans his chest into me and puts his head on my shoulder while I bear hug him.

He point blank refuses to eat his breakfast or go outside to wee until the hugging ritual is complete, for an amount of time that only he can determine adequate.

CarrieMoonbeams · 09/03/2021 23:30

We have 6 dogs, and my favourite thing is when they're all sleeping in a big knot. We call it the cuddle puddle.

When they're in a really deep sleep and their tongues poke out, either from the side or the front, I love that, it's so cute!

When they look at each other and wag their tails.

Estara · 09/03/2021 23:31

My old Cavie used to sit on my knee and rub her forehead on my chin. She had a permanent stain on her white forehead from my make up.

Oldsu · 09/03/2021 23:35

I have Pugs who fart a lot but one of them farts and then looks at the nearest Pug in horror and then looks at me with an innocent expression, 'it was him mum not me I am a GOOD Pug' cracks me up very time

Giggorata · 09/03/2021 23:40

Totally agree about the exchange of grins on a walk. One of life's great pleasures.
Oldest dog sings when it's dinner time, and continues singing happily as she eats, head in bowl. I just melt.
Middle dog rests her head on my knee whenever she can. She is so stand offish with people and so soppy with us.
New pup is just so all round cute, discovering new things, and still small enough for a lap cuddle.
My old boy, who is no longer with us, used to just dab his cold nose on the back of my leg, so I knew he was there. I really miss that.

LoveFall · 09/03/2021 23:43

He likes to play with and hide his treats. He will stand staring at the treat, then spin in a circle. Some sort of strange tartar removal treat ritual? Very sweet and cute.

Threadgood · 09/03/2021 23:43

Sleep-wagging.

Waking up and finding that she's in 'little spoon' position.

Getting out of bed (where she sleeps fully under the duvet; how do they breathe?) and going to make coffee, then coming back into the bedroom to find that only her nose is poking out, and the rest of her, even her eyes, are still under the duvet.

The nose-nudge, when she wants something. Such a good communicator, and only 14 inches tall.

JustAddCoffee91 · 09/03/2021 23:48

I lost my big boy a few months back but he was the sweetest pooch ever!
When I was heavily pregnant with DS1 I fell asleep on the sofa because I was exhausted and I woke up to a mound of his teddies (babbies we used to call them) all piled up on my bump
He used to come and put his head on my lap and just sit with me for ages if I was feeling a bit down or sick
He was the best most loyal companion I could have ever asked for
