It's funny you saying that, Hoppinggreen - we're just back from a walk, and one of my dogs did something very unusual (for her).
She's a real cuddle monster with me and DH, but doesn't go to other people at all, even people she's known for years. She's not nervous, or shy, she's just not interested.
However, we said hello over the wall to a woman who was working in a garden - we've never seen or spoken to this woman before.
Ddog put her paws up on the wall, tail wagging, and was giving the lady her "Hiya, c'mere, hiya, love you" smiley face, which surprised me. I said "oh that's strange, she's normally very stand-offish with people, I've literally never known her to do that before. ". The poor woman started crying - turns out she'd just had to have her Ddog PTS on Tuesday
.
I reckon my wee dog sensed that, somehow, and was trying to comfort her.
Every day I strive to be as wonderful as my dogs think I am!
