Mine is lying asleep on my foot and "ruffing" away - I adore these little sleep barks, they make me feel so warm and happy and a big smile spreads across my face

@JesusInTheCabbageVan

Huge, deep groans when she's especially comfy or enjoying a stroke. She does it with every breath, almost like purring.
Ours does this. Its such a contented noise.

She makes me smile every night when she lies next to me to sleep, and every morning when I wake up and she’s still there 😍

Peace43 · 22/03/2021 12:01

Every morning about 10 minutes before the alarm goes off he scrootches up the bed until his head is up by mine. Then gently snuffles me and licks until I give him a stroke. Then he takes my hand or wrist into his mouth and gives it a little suck. I’ve no idea why but it’s our special quiet morning hello. He’s lovely!

DarlingWithoutYou · 22/03/2021 12:06

I've really enjoyed this thread!

Mine is when he sleeps on the sofa, he has to have a paw or head placed on you at all times.

newname2021 · 22/03/2021 12:45

@spiderlight

Ours has a huge collection of teddies of all sizes, and he always brings one to greet us even if we're just coming back into the room after nipping to the loo. If someone has actually been out, as soon as he hears them coming back he will rush to his toybox and do a frantic little search to find just the right teddy to greet them with. His current favourite is an enormous sloth.
I think this might be the sweetest thing I've ever read!

This thread is amazing. I can't wait to get a dog later in life.

2021namechanges · 22/03/2021 13:55

This is a lovely thread. Mine does this thing where he jumps on your lap then raises his paw up so that you tickle his belly.
The other one is that he loves to play with toys - he’ll bring one over and if you ignore it - he goes back to his toy box and brings another - obviously assuming that you didn’t fancy the one he chose. I often find a little pile of toys by my feet where he’s been trying to find the perfect toy Grin

spiderlight · 22/03/2021 14:20

@newname2021 - he's brought you his rabbit :)

MaryIsA · 22/03/2021 14:42

ours runs around looking for presents for people who arrive too. Usually its a toy, sometimes a treat, sometimes something completely random like a sock from the washing basket. It's very sweet.

newname2021 · 22/03/2021 14:46

😍 Oh thank you, he is gorgeous.

@Kanaloa

If we were all watching telly and a funny bit came on we would all laugh and our old staffy used to get so excited. She would be wagging around on the couch because she knew everyone was happy and she wanted to join in even though she didn’t know what was going on!
Oh this is so sweet! She just wanted to join in the fun.
ilovepixie · 22/03/2021 19:22

The little snuffles of happiness as she settles down for sleep at night curled up tight beside us. Then in the morning when she sees us awake she jumps on our chest for a cuddle.

StillMedusa · 22/03/2021 20:19

When I walk in the door, whether I've been out 10 minutes or at work (she's never home alone) I have to sit down on the floor so that she can get both paws round my neck for a huge hug.

And if I come in when she's been fast asleep she does that staggering whole bum waggle that isn't fully awake..only the tail end is!

And the huge grin when she's been chasing something off lead and knows she went too far away, and I call her and she comes back at full speed just full of the joy of the moment... I think that's the best, when she is BEING DOG to the fullest and so happy.

CaffeineAndCrochet · 23/03/2021 22:39

Taking the special treat to her special place, she does such a happy little self important trit trot.

Mine does this as well! We call it the prance.

florentina1 · 23/03/2021 22:45

My dogs previous owner died of breast cancer very young. The last year, before she came to us she guarded her on her bed. As soon as I go into my bedroom she is there with me. If I lay down at any time she is with me and won’t leave until I get up

TheBitterBoy · 23/03/2021 22:47

A big squeaky yawn when she's super tired. And she will always come and find one of us to boop with her nose to say thank you after her dinner.

hillarypcof · 23/03/2021 23:00

It only happened once but I will never forget this ❤ When the radio next to his bed started playing Phil Collins - A Groovy Kind of Love, my boy got out of bed, came and sat next to me and put his paw on my shoulder as if to be giving me a huge hug ❤ It was the sweetest moment ever. Especially with those lyrics 🥰 We just sat there until the song finished and I gave him the biggest cuddle. I shed many tears. This is a lovely thread xxx

GrouchyKiwi · 23/03/2021 23:08

When DH takes her out for a walk she always comes to see me when they get home.

MaryIsA · 24/03/2021 07:30

As someone up thread said...when they are Being Dog...the absolute joy of the perfect stick, or when their eyes light up when they see a dog who wants to play.

LunaNorth · 24/03/2021 07:33

One of my Bostons, Delilah, brings me her teddy every morning. We have doggie steps so she can get up on the bed, and it breaks my heart the way she patters up the steps with her sweet little face full of Ted, just for me.

GoLightlyontheEarth · 25/03/2021 16:33

I would like to know the breeds of the dogs!

idontlikealdi · 25/03/2021 16:37

Starts off sleeping down stairs but every bight without fail comes upstairs at 1230 to check everyone is in the right place, and then jumps up on me to go to sleep.

So annoying but also also so cute. He checks all the bedrooms, has a nice big noisy shake and then he's happy.

QuentinWinters · 25/03/2021 16:39

Snuffles in my hair and falls asleep with his nose pressed against me. I'm very definitely his favourite human and I love it

queenofthenorthwest · 25/03/2021 17:02

He talks to you with like a growl type thing (it's not a growl it's like deep wah wah wah noises)

He does if he doesn't want to do something sometimes like "come here" he will do the growl type thing and shake his head from side to side.

When we dance he runs up behind and gets on his back legs until you hold his front paws to dance with him too.
