Mine is lying asleep on my foot and "ruffing" away - I adore these little sleep barks, they make me feel so warm and happy and a big smile spreads across my face

My Ddog sleeps on my side of the bed. When I come up to bed he gets up and stands on the other side of the bed until I've got in then he comes back and snuggles in for an10 minute cuddle before getting into his own bed. Every single night its the same routine and he isnt a dog that really likes human touch (rescue dog with issues)

Eckhart · 09/03/2021 23:58

@Bunnybigears

Is he 'tucking you in' for the night?

This thread is lovely.

MrsEricBana · 10/03/2021 00:25

Honestly everything he does. I wanted a dog for SO many years and when I finally got one it was loads better than I had dreamed. He's always happy and he just wants to be close by at all times. I love it when I wake up and he's snoozing wedged right up against me, and how he watches out for me coming home. I love him so much.

OppsUpsSide · 10/03/2021 00:26

When I say ‘love’ to her she hugs me!

k1233 · 10/03/2021 00:32

I've got a westie amd they do this thing where they bump your leg with their nose so you don't forget about them.

Mine will go up the hallway and when I come out of the room, he'll wiggle his bum and run at me flat out with a huge smile on his face. Gran Gran saw him do it one day and asked where he was running to - he was running to me!

Ithinktomyself · 10/03/2021 01:12

When he suddenly realises that I'm still walking when he has been busily sniffing and he comes flying across the field towards me at a gallop, ears swinging, grin on his face...

Stellaris22 · 10/03/2021 06:42

Whenever I get up extra early for work I hear my dog get up and jump onto bed for cuddle time with DH. If I go to bed early, she gets onto bed and nudges me till I let her under the duvet for cuddles, it's endearing.

Chocolateandamaretto · 10/03/2021 09:05

Lovely thread!

When we get settled onto the sofa for the evening he he gets comfy and does really big sighs like he knows he's there for the until bedtime now.

When I get in from work and he comes to greet me with big wags then goes to find my DH to say "look, she's home" but he keeps checking behind him that I'm following so he hits himself in the face with his waggy tail.

Chocolateandamaretto · 10/03/2021 09:08

Oh and when he's asleep and you walk in the room and he doesn't get up but his tail starts wagging!

dogsaremypeople · 10/03/2021 09:18

He "checks in" with me, he'll run over, touch me with his paw and go off again.

RandomMess · 10/03/2021 09:20

So so so many things!

She is really "chattty" and tells you about everything.

When she's some distance away off lead and races back at bullet speed, ears back with a massive grin

When she dreams - paws going and micro woofs

When we come back from a walk and she races around to visit everyone and then has a good roll around on at least a couple of beds

When she has asked for her pjs off then has a good back scratch on the carpet - loads of wiggling around on back

They way she tries to slink off when it's time to go out for a wee bit it's raining 😂 all stealth like we notice her not going out.

RandomMess · 10/03/2021 09:21

When she is under the covers in one of the DC beds (I won't let her in mine 🤮) you say her name and you just hear the thud thud thud of her tail wagging 🥰

silverbubbles · 10/03/2021 09:22

@SirSniffsAlot

In the morning he leans into me in bed, like a little spoon. If my arm is up, he rests his head on it and gazes at me while I wake up. In a nice way, not in a 'get up and walk me' way Grin

That and the walk look. The gaze up from my side with that lovely, relaxed open mouthed grin. The one that sees to say 'this is the life, eh?'.

That look melts my heart every single time.

Love this - made me cry!!!
Froppysue · 10/03/2021 09:25

I don’t walk very well (disabled) so have to cruise on furniture in the house. Ddog always comes and offers me his head to lean on, he literally comes up from behind and nudges me so I can hold his head to steady myself 🥺
If ever playing with toys, or tug etc all I have to say is ‘ow’ and he drops it straight away, he doesn’t do that for anyone else.

Also he turns into a bouncy kangaroo at feeding times Grin

LickYouLikeACrispPacket · 10/03/2021 09:27

My dog sleeps with my husband and I and sometimes at night he gets up and changes position in the bed and then when he’s settled back down he does this manic little tail wag which thumps on the mattress and it’s like a half asleep declaration of sleepy joy. It makes me beam with happiness in the dark. ☺️

Easterbunnygettingready · 10/03/2021 13:43

I wish to retract any loving comments about my dpuppy.
Dpuppy should know by now at 16 months chewing plaster off walls isn't the way to get any kisses whatsoever..
Angry..
Rant over...

PeckyOwl · 10/03/2021 15:41

I love his little smiling face when he looks up at my side as we walk along. I know that really he is hoping I will drop a piece of liver into his mouth but I don't care.

SirSniffsAlot · 10/03/2021 16:14

Ah. Heaven, for me, would be an endless spring day walking through an open meadow with the dog grinning at my side. There is nothing on earth that compares with that - for me.

Cocolapew · 10/03/2021 16:18

She sleeps in our room and if she's on the bed she nudges around with her head until she finds my feet to rest her head on.
If she needs to go out during the night she gently rubs her whiskers on my arm.

CaffeineAndCrochet · 10/03/2021 16:20

Leans into me for cuddles. Makes my heart melt every time.

Pumpkintopf · 10/03/2021 18:40

I love all of these.

With my greyhound, I used to get down on all fours on the carpet and she would come over and play bow and then snuggle into me for a fuss. Loved her.

AledsiPad · 10/03/2021 23:31

When you give her a treat - any treat, big or small - she has to run off and eat it somewhere else. But that run is a special run that she only does when she’s excited for something. It’s a run of pure joy. Grin

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 10/03/2021 23:36

Ok, admittedly not sweet as such but definitely funny, he often sneezes and farts at the same time then whips round to look at his bum as if to say ‘wtf was that?’Grin

KarmaNoMore · 10/03/2021 23:40

She sits on her back legs and lifts a hand higher up in the air when she wants your attention. She sits on the sofa like a little person, digs little “holes” around me when I’m in bed until I am in a position she finds comfortable then starts talking on her sleep. Love her to bits!

toria658 · 10/03/2021 23:41

Backs up to me, wags his stumpy ( unfortunately docked tail ) and leans heavily for a back rub.

Her Ladyship literally pokes her snout into anything I am doing, she blew away bluebell seeds yesterday but cannot do anything other than smile.
