Do you sleep with your dog?

Just that, really. Not in a pervy way, obvs.:o

Our last dog slept on the bed like the dead, and new pooch has just been accorded the privileges now that his bladder is cast-iron. He loves it, and after an adjustment period when he was so chuffed he kept waking up to tell me, he's calmed down.

I would never say a dog should/must be allowed this, but feel that my work schedule means this human to dog pay-off is a good one. And I like it. Big dog. Big bed.

What are the thoughts of The Doghouse crew?

Both my babies taking up the bed 😂... doggy boo isn't allowed on all the time (only because she's shedding summer coat at the moment) 💙 🐾

Mine have always slept on the landing, as there is a radiator there and hot water pipes under the floor they like that. They were allowed up onto the bed on weekend mornings for a cuddle and snooze and of course on family birthdays.

A quick snooze

No, because he eats other animals’ poo, licks his own arsehole, and sheds like there’s no tomorrow.

But I am often tempted because he’s so cute and cuddly that I temporarily forget that he eats poo. Also I reckon he would absolutely love it and we’d probably get more sleep.

Yes yes yes and yes.....I say 4 times because I have 4 dogs a d they each take a turn to slip up for a snuggle between our feet through the night.....they all each have their own bed in a certain spot in the house and they all love to Juno up for a quick fuss before we go to sleep and at varying points over the years when I've woken there has been a different dog in the spot between our feet and every morning it's different to who was there when we fell asleep....I personally woudlnt have it any other way but can understand those who are against it also

My boy sleeps on the bed with me every night and I love it, would not have it any other way.

My whippet x does some nights, others she goes in her bed.
Sometimes we have DS and Ddog, and then DH goes and sleeps in DSs bed. I need a bed bigger than a king size, but everyone wants to sleep close to me for some reason 🙄
When we go to our boat she sleeps at the bottom of the bed, we have to wrap her in a blanket and she pokes her little whippetty face out and looks all cosy!

weegiemum · 15/05/2019 21:35

My doodly boy usually sleeps downstairs but 2 nights a week, when dh is away with work, he gets to sleep with me. He adores it but there really isn't room for 3 of us in the bed!

Hecketyheck · 16/05/2019 15:01

How do you greyhound people manage?! I have a 6ft 4 DH, me (5 ft 7) and a bloody big old greyhound. There's no way we could all fit in our bed. Plus heckdog dreams and twitches all night long.

I was slightly worried one day when DH looked at me and said in a very meaningful manner "you know if you died that I would have the dog in the bed, don't you?"...…..

Always a no dogs in the bedroom type. Used to get annoyed when ex even let them on the bed to say hello.

FInally gone from big dogs to tiny wee puppy. She’s small, the bed is big so it was working.

This week have been staying with family and in a single - she still insists on sleeping slap bang in the middle. Doesn’t matter how much I roll on her, shove her out of the way or disturb her - she has decided the centre of the bed is her place! I am old and weak - she is young and determined. 😂

No way, he has a bed downstairs and in our bedroom, he goes from bed to bed during the night
